Triple H makes his way to the stage to make the first announcement for the 2023 WWE Draft at the official glass podium.
He welcomes everyone to the draft. He talks about the rules for the draft. He says every superstar on Raw and Smackdown are eligible to the draft. Half of the roster will be drafted tonight and the rest will be drafted on Raw.
Hunter says some members of the NXT roster are eligible to be drafted. The rosters will be changed effective May 8th.
The first picks in the draft are:
1. Smackdown selects Roman Reigns, Solo Sikoa, and Paul Heyman.
2. Raw selects Cody Rhodes.
3. Smackdown selects Bianca Belair.
4. Raw selects Becky Lynch.
This means that the World Heavyweight Champion will be on Raw.
Hunter mentions that while we wait for the next rounds of picks, he brings out the Usos.
Jey says that the Bloodline is in your city. Jimmy congratulates Roman for being the number one draft pick. Jey says they bring back gold to the Bloodline. Jimmy says that Roman hasn't responded to them in any way. Jimmy says they are dedicating this victory to Roman. Jey says they will become nine time tag team champions.
WWE Tag Team Champions Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn come out to join the Usos on the stage.
Sami says he is not here to talk any sense into them. He says he has said everything he has wanted to say. Do you think it is strange that since they beat them for the titles at Wrestlemania, that ROman hasn't called you or messaged you? He hasn't said a word to you since Wrestlemania and you are dedicating this match to him? Did you see that Roman was drafted with Solo and Paul, but not with you? If that doesn't tell you everything you need to know, I don't know.
Jey says Sami ain't walking out with a damn thing tonight. Jimmy says once they beat Kevin and Sami, Kevin will turn his back on you and that will be the end of this whole brotherhood.
Kevin says he is sick of hearing this crap. Kevin says the only thing he cares about is that later tonight we are going to beat the hell out of you and we are going to keep these titles.
We are back and we see the doors for the Raw and Smackdown war rooms. We see the NXT superstars in Orlando.
We go to comments from Bianca Belair.
She says she is coming back to Smackdown and she is excited to be the Smackdown Women's Champion again. She is going to be representing all of you as the champion.
We see how we got to this match with LA Knight angering Butch about the draft.
Match Number One: LA Knight versus Butch (with Sheamus)
Knight with a punch and side head lock. Butch with a clothesline. Butch with a hammer lock and he pulls on the fingers. Butch stomps on the elbow. Knight with an elbow and he sends Butch to the apron. Butch with forearms across the chest from the apron. Butch goes up top and leaps over Knight. Butch goes for a double wrist lock and a body scissors but Knight goes to the ropes and he pulls Butch's throat into the rope. They go to the floor and Knight with a back drop driver onto the apron.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Knight with punches and Butch with a running forearm and kick into the corner. Butch with a knee drop to the arm and he stomps on the hand. Butch with a round kick to the back of the head for a near fall. Butch with a moonsault off the apron onto Knight. They return to the ring and Butch goes up top. Knight stops Butch with a punch. Knight sets for a superplex but Butch grabs the finger and pulls at them. Knight leaps to the turnbuckles and hits a superplex for a near fall. Knight gets Butch up on his shoulders but Butch gets to his feet. Knight with a running knee. Butch goes for a Fujiwara arm bar but Knight gets to the ropes to force a break.
Knight pulls Butch into the ring post from the apron and then Knight with Blunt Force Trauma for the three count.
Winner: LA Knight
The Usos are in the back with Paul and Solo and they talk about how tonight is the night. Paul says the world is distracted because the Usos will be drafted to the Island of Relevancy as champions or the Sea of Obscurity if they lose. Tonight is the night you reject the failure of the stain that Kevin and Sami put on the Bloodline. Tonight is the night you come back into the locker room as tag team champions. Paul says Roman wants you to know one way or another, he will only accept the fact that TONIGHT IS THE NIGHT, as Paul stares at Solo who tapes up his thumb.
We see Rob Van Dam leaving the Raw room while Michael Hayes walks out of the Smackdown room.
We go to commercial.
We are back with Round Two of the Draft and Rob Van Dam and Michael Hayes come out to make the picks.
The picks for Round Two are as follows:
1. Smackdown selects The Street Profits
2. Raw selects Imperium
3. Smackdown selects Edge
4. Raw selects Matt Riddle
Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins come to the ring and they have something to say.
Montez says as you can see, him and his boy Angelo Dawkins are back in the blue. They are back on Smackdown and the only thing that has changed is the day they work. They still want the smoke.
Match Number Two: Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins versus Ricochet and Braun Strowman versus Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro
Braun, Wilde, and Ford start things off and Ford and Wilde go after Braun but Braun pushes them off and sends them to the floor. Braun punches Dawkins and sends Cruz to the floor. Braun wants to toss Ricochet over the top rope and Ricochet has some concerns after last week. Braun says he has him and Braun tosses Ricochet over the top rope onto everyone on the floor.
We go to commercial.
We are back and Ricochet punches Dawkins. Cruz punches Dawkins and Ricochet joins in to work over Dawkins. Ricochet and Cruz try to Irish whip Dawkins but Dawkins sends Cruz toward Ricochet. Ricochet with an elbow to Dawkins and Cruz with a kick to Ricochet and a missile drop kick to Dawkins. Ricochet with an Irish whip to Cruz and he goes to the apron and Ricochet hits the turnbuckles. Cruz runs into a boot and Cruz with a rolling enzuigiri to Ricochet. Wilde tags in and hits a swanton onto Ford and Dawkins. Ricochet with a springboard moonsault but Wilde moves and Ricochet lands on his feet. Wilde with a West Coast Pop to Ricochet for a near fall. Ricochet sends Cruz to the floor. Cruz tags in.
Cruz with a forearm to Braun and a kick to Ricochet. Cruz with a suplex for a near fall. Ford with a kick to Braun but Braun with an uppercut to stop a springboard move from Ford. Braun goes to the floor for the Wacky Lap and he hits Cruz and Ford but Dawkins with a flip dive onto Braun. Ricochet with a flip dive onto Dawkins followed by an enzuigiri. Ricochet goes up top and he sets for a 630 splash but Dawkins moves and Ricochet rolls through. Dawkins with a punch and Ford tags in. Ricochet with a jumping knee to Dawkins but Dawkins with Sky High and Ford with a seven star frog splash for the three count.
Winners: Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins
We take a look at Bad Bunny's appearance on Raw and announcement that he is wrestling at Backlash.
