In this day and age, after over 3 years of home offices and quiet quitting, people are keener than ever to start sailing the stormy seas of entrepreneurship. According to ICAEW, the global pandemic has created an entrepreneurial boom in England and Wales, but the rest of the world doesn’t drag behind. And one of the most popular business opportunities is starting a casino business.

“I swear to God, it is impossible to avoid “polskie kasyna online na pieniadze” ads, or real money casino ads in Poland, or anywhere else in the world for that matter”, says Anna Rosak. Rosak is a digital marketing specialist and the brain behind many websites dedicated to casino ratings. If you ask her, the business is blooming and booming.
“It cannot be denied that now, more than ever, people are keen to start their own online businesses, and online gambling is for many, the only way to go. However, I have to immediately say it is not as glamorous as in Hollywood movies. It’s a lot of effort, paperwork and more coordination than anyone cares to admit”, warns Rosak and says most new casinos don't live to see the first birthday.
So where’s the catch, and how does one create a successful online casino brand to last? Anna knows the answers.
In her opinion, getting a license is crucial for success. It is also the most complicated step of them all, and one where many operators fall into the trap of choosing the easy way, instead of the right way.
“If your plan is to attack the European market, which is also the most lucrative one, you’ll need the nerves of a horse. Every single country has its own set of laws and regulations, and most of them ban unlicensed casinos as they don’t pay taxes. However, once you are approved by MGA or UKGC, you’ll see your numbers sky-rocket as most players see the two as a green light”, advises Anna.
Picking a game catalogue is far less complicated, and usually a more enjoyable part of the ordeal. Rosak explains how today, it is far easier to create an admirable gaming portfolio than just a couple of years ago, because of the rising popularity of content aggregating platforms.
This is what she said: “Content aggregating platforms are run by the biggest players in the industry. They gather all notable niche studios and sign contracts for game distribution. As a casino owner, all you have to do is sign a partnership with the big guys, and you’ll get thousands and thousands of games to add to your portfolio.”
According to Rosak, this is where casino owners must get really creative. The casino platform is what players see, so it has to be attention-grabbing, and absorbing, but also reliable, and adhere to all the expectations a modern consumer might have.
“Think filters, search tools, navigation, loading times, safety, as well as visual appeal. Creating an attractive casino site is easier said than done, and I have seen plenty of brands fail, just because they can’t come up with an original and unique, yet user-friendly idea. It’s usually one way or the other. Needless to say, most new brands fail to impress both the critics and the audiences”, she’s honest.
Once the player lands on your site, you’ll have to keep them there, and that is the precise moment when casino bonuses step into the spotlight.
“Do you think bigger is always better? Not really. You must have a bonus that can be paid out of your budget when the time comes, yet big enough to impress, as well as one that is fair and manageable towards the end consumer. Most people who are new to business have no idea how complicated it is”, elaborates Rosak, and adds how players prefer to have a constant stream of offers landing onto their account as they play, rather than a massive welcome bonus. Good practice is to get familiar with marketing strategies that can help you out with growing the business.
In the end, Rosak accentuates the importance of good customer support, as your agents will be the first line of both defence and assistance.
“I know what you are thinking. You believe customer support is something that can be done by your nephew and his college girlfriend, but their results will be very college-like. A good casino representative is worth their weight in gold, and will turn those inquiries into signups and ultimately deposits”, explains Anna.
“So, don’t be a cheapskate, but splurge on professional support”, she warns. Some of her suggestions include educating your own staff or simply reaching out to companies specialized in this line of work. “Anything is better than an impro class on support”, Rosak warns.
