WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff revealed that he almost died twice recently, a story picked up by Michigan Live.
In a story relayed on his podcast, 83 Weeks, Bischoff revealed that he didn’t read the directions properly when adding psyllium husks to his diet and ended up using way too much.
The result was a major health issue that included his blood pressure dropping to majorly low levels, passing blood in his urine and passing out, including smashing his face after blacking out while waiting for an ambulance to arrive at his home in Wyoming.
Bischoff was released from the hospital at one point but was hospitalized again and it was believed he would need surgery to re-section his intestines. The planned procedure was halted after the hospital ran out of his blood type and he was transported to another hospital in Montana, where he remained in intensive care before recovering to the point he was able to return home.
Bischoff realized that the dietary change was the only deviation from his usual routine and surmised it was because he used too much, which caused a major issue.
“The doctor did tell me, he said, ‘You almost died twice, you almost died in Cody (Wyoming) and you almost died here,’” Bischoff said. “But I made it.”
