WWE CLASH AT THE CASTLE EVENT BRINGS OVER $27 MILLION TO WALES ECONOMY

By Mike Johnson on 2023-04-21 14:23:00

The BBC reported today that WWE's Clash at the Castle event in Cardiff, Wales earlier this year brought £21.8 million ($27,118,328.00 in U.S. dollars) to the local Welsh economy, based on a local study.

The study also indicated that three-quarters of those in attendance traveled to the event from outside of Wales.

BBC's report noted, "An Economic Impact Study questioned over 3,000 respondents and found 57% of non-locals said the event made them want to explore other parts of Wales."

The January 2023 event was headlined by Roman Reigns vs. Drew McIntyre and was WWE's first stadium event in the UK since 1992's Summerslam at Wembley Stadium.  AEW will be running Wembley this August in their UK debut.
