Alamo Drafthouse theaters will be playing Roddy Piper's classic They Live this May in certain markets. Check your local theater listings. There will be digital screenings as well as 35 mm film depending on the date and market. If you've never seen the film on screen, it is well worth the effort as Piper does a great job as John Nada, John Carpenter's direction is great and the fight scene with Piper and Keith David is one of the all time best fight scenes of all time in any film.
The Huntington Cinema Center in Long Island, NY is running a very rare screening of 1950 professional wrestling film Night and The City on 6/7. The excellent noir film stars Richard Wiidmark as Harry Fabian, a London con man with a million and one scams. He realizes the money that can be made in pro wrestling and quickly takes to legendary wrestler Gregarious the Great (played the legendary Stanislaus Zbyszko, who is awesome in the film). This is the first screening of the film I am aware of since 2009. You can check out the trailer for the film below:
