Nonna, Im going to miss your strong loving hugs & your little sassy cheeky attitude.
It’s so hard saying goodbye, but being able to see you again in Feb was the highlight of my year ??
I miss you & I love you with all my heart. pic.twitter.com/Dot5VvBeGz
Ripley had just reunited with her family this past February after several years of being unable to visit each other due to COVID-19-related travel bans and quarantine laws related to international travel as she was here in the United States and they were in Australia.
Over Wrestlemania 39 weekend, PWInsider.com spoke with Ripley about making that sacrifice to be part of WWE over the last several years. She commented, "Yeah, it was so overdue. So overdue. I was so excited to go home and see everyone, because yes, my mom did come to visit, my sister did, too, but I hadn't seen my dad for four years. I hadn't seen my nana for four years, my grandma for four years, the rest of my family for four years. And that's a long time to be away from people, because people get sick, people get old, and you never know what's going to happen. So going home, it was a very emotional time because it might've been the last time that I do get to see some people. But it was also so nice to be home and with them."
Ripley had written "Nonna" with a heart on her cheek during her appearance on Friday Night Smackdown on 4/14.
On behalf of everyone at the site, we send our deepest, deepest condolences to Ripley and her entire family.
