It’s time for AEW Rampage which was recorded after Dynamite at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena in Milwaukee, WI. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Jim Ross, and Tony Schiavone. The show started a bit late due to basketball, so I hope you added some time at the end of your DVR recording. I know I always add a half hour to the end of AEW recordings in case there is a sports delay.
Aussie Open (Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher) (IWGP Tag Team Champions) vs The Best Friends (Trent Beretta and Chuck Taylor)
Trent and Kyle start off with side headlocks and other quick moves. Mark then tags in and they run the ropes with Mark getting a shoulder tackle. Kyle tags in and knocks Chuck off the apron. Trent has to fight them both off, and Chuck is able to tag in after Trent gets a DDT on Kyle and Mark is kicked to the outside. Kyle rolls to the outside in time for Chuck to hit a dive on both of Aussie Open.
Mark is-rolled into the ring and he tries to fight off both of the Best Friends. Kyle comes in and is suplexed into Mark. Trent comes off the top with a flying cross body onto Kyle for a two count. They keep up with all four men fighting and they go to the outside, and Aussie Open carries the Best Friends around the ring, ramming them into each other. Trent is brought into the ring and Mark is tagged in and they double-team Trent for a two count.
Mark hoists Trent up for a delayed vertical suplex, and Kyle tags in and takes the suplex handoff before dropping Trent for two as we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Aussie Open is double-teaming Trent, and Trent is thrown to the outside where he and Mark brawl until Trent sends him into the steel steps. Trent returns to the ring and he and Kyle go to the top. Chuck comes in and puts Trent on his shoulders so they can super-plex Kyle.
Then Best Friends then chokeslam Mark after he returns to the ring, and the Best Friends give the big hug. Trent hits the Doomsday Knee Strike on Kyle for a two count. Aussie Open hits a spinning tombstone piledriver on Chuck. Trent then takes a pile driver as well. Aussie Open then hit the Coriolis on Chuck for the pin and the win.
Winners and still IWGP Tag Team Champions: Aussie Open
In the back, Sonjay Dutt says he wants to show that they are a team with Mark Briscoe. Satnam says that Mark they have so much in common, and he made a shirt for their 8-man tag team match. Mark does not look happy.
In the ring, Tony Schiavone brings out FTR. Cash says it took over two years to win the Tag Team Titles back. He then says that they are stuck with FTR for another 4 years. Dax talks about how the fans aren’t supported to like them. He says that this is their redemption story and their comeback is the story of the fans and we have all fought for this.
In the back, Lexi is with Jeff and Matt Hardy, Isaiah Kassidy, and Hook. Jeff talks about how good it feels to be back. Matt says that when they beat The Firm, they will be free of the contract with The Firm. The match will take place at the Hardy Compound for a Firm Deletion!
We get a video from Wednesday for the aftermath of Wardlow and Powerhouse Hobbs.
Mark Briscoe, Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, and Satnam Singh vs The Already In The Ring Manscout Jake Manning & The Spanish Announce Project (Serpentico, Luther, and Angelico)
The Spanish Announce project is knocked to the floor. Mark sees that Jeff Jarrett trips Manning and lets them know he is not OK with this. The match is over in about 90 seconds with Mark getting the pin after Froggie Bo, but he is not happy with the cheating by his teammates and goes to the back alone after the Match.
Winners: Mark Briscoe, Jeff Jarrett, Jay Lethal, and Satnam
We get a video package of the issues between the Elite and the Blackpool Combat Club.
Taya Valkyrie vs The Already In the ring Emi Sakura
They quickly go to the corner, and Emi gets in a chop, and Taya reverses it into a chop of her own. Taya calls for Emi to charge her, and when she does, Taya doesn't move. Taya then comes off the ropes to drop Emi and then drops her in the corner. Taya hits the double knee strike in the corner and covers for two.
Emi fights out of a rear waistlock, and has to bite Taya to get the reversal. Taya muscles out of a full nelson attempt and hits a clothesline for two. Taya starts to set up for the Road to Valhalla, and Jade Cargill and Leila Grey show on the stage. Emi uses the distraction to take down Taya as we go picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Taya gets a low trajectory German suplex with Emi set on the second rope. Outside the ring, Emi tosses Taya into the steel steps and then barrels into her. Taya is rolled into the ring and Emi gets a two count. Jade and Leila have come to ringside. Emi runs into a Blue Thunder Bomb for a two count. Emi gets in chops, but Taya hits a spear to stop Emi. Taya hits Road to Valhalla for the pin and win
Winner: Taya Valkyrie
Leila gets in the ring and takes Road to Valhalla and Jade gets into the ring. They trade forearms. Taya tries to get Jade into Road to Valhalla, but Leila hits her from behind. Jade hits a pump kick and drops Taya with Jaded. Jade then pins Taya as the crowd counts to three.
We then hear that Dralistico is challenging El Hijo del Vikingo to a match for the AAA Mega Championship.
IN the ring are Jake Hager, Matt Manard and Angelo Parker. They have a rap for The Acclaimed that goes as well as expected. The Acclaimed rush the ring and it’s a brawl. When the Acclaimed have Matt Menard in their grasp, Billy Gunn has actual scissors. Matt is pulled out of the ring and the Acclaimed challenge them to a match next week.
Mark Henry moderates the main event interview segment. Shawn says he was gone because he has a baby boy, but he came back to throw his name in the championship hat.
Jungle Boy vs Shawn Spears
They shake hands to start the match and then trade arm bars. Shawn gets a quick tie up for a pin. They go back to arm bars and JB takes down Spears with a drop kick. Spears rolls out of the ring and JB follows after Spears walks, causing JB to stop his dive. JB goes out of the ring and they do the same thing. They then move to brawl on the outside and Spears tosses JB into and over the barricade.
When we return to full screen, they go fight on the top and JB knows Spears down twice, and JB then hits a crossbody for two. Spears rolls through for two himself. Spears gets a pump kick and JB then gets a pair of thrust kicks. Spears gets an elbow strike, and then both men nail each other and they struggle to get up.
They get up in opposite corners and fight in the rope, trading kicks. Spears is able to hang JB on the top rope, and hits a DDT for two. Spears pulls up JB for the Death Valley Driver, but JB escapes and rolls Spears up for two. He then hits a flatliner for two. He rolls up Spears for two. JB runs into a tilt a whirl backbreaker and tries for a roll up, but JB reverses it and holds on for the pin and the win.
Winner: Jungle Boy
They hug after the match and we are desperately out of time!
