Does the WWE change to Night of Champions mean they killed plans for King and Queen of the Ring?
I haven't heard that, but I'm looking into it.
There seems to be a belief that CM Punk is officially returning to AEW at the Chicago Dynamite. Can you confirm?
I haven't heard anything about Punk returning in June. It is possible but my feeling is if they do his return, it will be tied to the new AEW series that is being bandied about for Saturday nights. But, Chicago is THE right place to have him return.
One other pundit out there is always adamant that CM Punk needs to publicly apologize if he's going to return. Do you agree?
No. I don't know who that was, but to me, if Punk is going to show and do the apology tour on TV, that really kills off any conflicts in a business that makes its money exploiting conflicts for storylines to generate money. If Punk returns an unabashed jerk who is out for himself, that makes money when others confront him. If he returns a babyface who is seeking his title, that's a conflict that makes money. If he shows up, hat in hand, begging to be let back in, what money does that generate? Did Jeff Hardy have to publicly apologize? No. Wrestling storylines have nothing to do with real life and far more people will watch the episode of AEW TV if and when Punk returns than watched his All Out massacre of the press scrum. If Punk feels he needs to make amends privately, that's one thing but it shouldn't be part of his TV return in my opinion.
Years ago, there was an Impact PPV that was paused for a fire. Was that a real fire?
Yes, that was a 100% a real life circumstance.
Where is Mike Tenay and why is he unemployed?
Tenay lives in Nevada. I don't think he's unemployed. He just chooses not to do professional wrestling currently, similar to Joey Styles. You can't call someone unemployed when they choose NOT to work. I know for a fact he has regularly turned down booking offers.
