In advance of today's WWE NXT Stand and Deliver, Grayson Waller spoke with PWInsider.com at WWE Wrestlemania Media Day.
The Johnny Gargano Match: "I think this is a huge opportunity for Johnny Gargano. He must be buzzing right now, because I think realistically, I'm the golden ticket in NXT. That's why you have all these main roster guys coming to find me. Because they want to come and make themselves relevant. And right now, they know I'll say and do whatever it takes to make them relevant. But I think it's already proof when you see the people that I'm working with. And it's not like I'm just going in there and I'm just given an opportunity. I'm going in there and I'm proving every single time that I can hang. If you can hang in there with AJ Styles, you can hang in there with anyone."
The early Call Time for the Show (6 AM) and how that changes his prep: "So you want to know, I'm up early this morning. I'm a smart guy when it comes to knowing about this match. I've been waking up early for the past week, making sure my mind is ready to go, because I know what time I'm going to be wrestling, so I'm getting my mind and body ready for that. I've been at the gym every morning early so that tomorrow when I wake up, I'm not stressing about it."
The Potential of a NXT Australia down the line: "I would love to see it, because there's so much talent just sitting in the wings. Even this weekend, I went and saw Adam Brooks at some of the shows. I know Aussie Open are doing some stuff. So there's so many Australians that are killing it. Rhea's main eventing against Charlotte. And the thing is, we just need to open that scene and get more eyes on it. So if there was an opportunity for NXT Australia, I'd put my name down to go down there and make sure that that was a big thing, too."
Finding one's voice and confidence as a perrformer: "I think [the voice] was always in there. And if anyone who knows me from the Australian scene knows that the moment I was given the ball, I ran with it. And I think it was very similar here. I was never supposed to be the guy. I said I wasn't supposed to be in WarGames. A lot of these opportunities weren't supposed to be mine, but I went and took them. And a large proponent is, I took it with my mouth, because I'm willing to say and do whatever it takes, and I'm clever with it. I'm not doing these professional wrestling interviews. I think that stuff's boring to me. For the people in the PC, I think they need to pay attention to that, because I think a lot of them are happy to be there. And it makes me sick, to be honest. You have these guys, they did shot put in high school, so now all of a sudden they come to the PC, they put NXT Superstar in their bio, and they're happy to be there. For me, I want so much more, and there's a few of us, as well. So for them, I'd stop stressing about being a superstar on Instagram and start being a superstar in real life."
