WWE NXT will present Stand and Deliver this Saturday from Los Angeles, California.
NXT Men's Champion Bron Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes.
Dave: This is the cream of the crop in NXT. In past years, I would have predicted Hayes winning because Vince would need to call up NXT talent to cover for his bad booking. That need is not there this year. It doesn't mean that there won't be call ups, but they are not a need like they were in the past. Bron has been champ for a while now and Hayes is really good. I think whether Bron stays or goes in NXT, put the belt on Hayes and change things up.
Mike: I can see Bron being called up, but even if he isn't, I feel like the time is right to ascend Carmelo to the top echelon of the brand. I feel like Bron has accomplished all he can, for now, in this role and Hayes is the type of personality you can build an entire division around.
Richard: The match for NXT 2.0 supremacy. Bron has done a good job as champion but he has not been able to fully embrace the charisma that his uncle has. Carmelo is a strong in ring wrestler but his charisma is so far ahead of Bron's. Hayes made the North American title important and he has tried to get this title and on Saturday he will get his chance. Both men should be on the main roster in a short time, and maybe the loser of this match moves on to Raw or Smackdown after Wrestlemania. Hayes is popular with the Orlando crowd so maybe we can see if he will maintain that support if he wins the title. I hope Trick Williams does not get involved physically in the match and that he fulfills his role as hype man for Hayes. I think Bron will have a few near falls that will get the crowd to think that he will retain, but in the end, I see a new Men's Champion. Melo Don't Miss, so let's see if he is a man of his word.
NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez vs. Zoey Stark vs. Indi Hartwell vs. Lyra Valkyria vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Gigi Dolin in a Ladder Match.
Dave: This who story seems to be about Roxanne overcoming obstacles and coming back from "injury" to beat five women in a ladder match sounds like a pretty big obstacle to overcome.
Mike: I am with Dave here. You don't have Roxanne cut the type of promo she did backstage with Shawn Michaels only to have her fail. That said, this should be a lot of fun as there's a ton of truly talented women here who will kick ass in their performances.
Richard: The Five Person Ladder Match would find its place on a network special with the crowning of a new Women's Champion. That was until Tuesday night when we found out that the Five Woman match would turn into a Six Person Match because Roxanne Perez told Principal Belding . . . I mean Shawn Michaels that she needed to be in the match and defend her title. With the story they are telling with Roxanne's 'injury' and her anxiety, it seems odd that she would lose this match. Before Roxanne's addition to the match, I thought it would be a coin flip between Zoey and Tiffany. I think Lyra can be a champion in the future, but I don't think it is time to run with her atop the women's division. She will do a number of impressive things in the match since Sol Ruca is not in the match to do the Jeff Hardy WTF spot. I don't think Indi has established that she could win the match. Gigi Dolin could establish herself as a short term contender for the title with a strong performance. Zoey might be the best wrestler in the match and I think she would make a great champion, but she doesn't translate as much with the crowd. Tiffany might not be the best wrestler in the match, but Mandy Rose had charisma while often being the second best wrestler in her title defenses. While I think they will keep the title on Roxanne, I would love to see what they could do with Stratton on top. That would be quite an epiphany.
NXT North American Champion Wes Lee vs Axiom vs. Dragon Lee vs. JD McDonagh vs. Ilja Dragunov.
Dave: This should be really good and you could make the case for anyone winning here. Selfishly, I have Dragunov win by pinning someone other than Lee.
Mike: If Roxanne is going to persevere, I think you have to have Wes Lee fall. I really could envision them putting Dragon Lee over as that immediately explodes him and puts him in the mix. If not Lee, Dragonuv is a great secondary choice.
Richard: It will be weird to not see a five way match for the North American title that does not include a ladder as an integral part of the match. This is a star studded roster and you have a mixture of styles. While JD and Ilja can beat the crap out of each other, the other three men can add the aerial style that is usually associated with the Network Special North American Title matches. Lee has done a good job as the champion and has established himself as a strong singles wrestler. Axiom earned his way into this match by winning the battle royal, he has the longshot role for this match but would not be seen as a shock if he wins. Ilja and JD offset each other and while I don't think either of them win, they will add a lot to the match. Do you pull the trigger and give Dragon Lee the victory in his first match on television? We have seen it before with the debuts on the main roster after stints on NXT and I think it happens on Saturday. Wes will not be part of the finish so he can justify the Battle of the Lees for a rematch.
NXT Men's Tag Team Champions Gallus vs. The Creeds vs. Tony D'Angelo and Channing 'Stacks' Lorenzo
Dave: Gallus are my guys and I would put them over but it wouldn't shock me to see the Creeds take the belts. That probably means Tony and Stacks will get the win.
Mike: I don't think we need or should see a title change here.
Richard: I am glad we didn't end up with the Four Way match thanks to a strong performance from Stacks and Tony. After their performance on Tuesday, I want to see them win the titles if they are going to do a title change. I enjoy the other two teams in the match and I expect all three teams to deliver. If the Creeds win, it could allow them to develop even more before their eventual main roster role. Could we see the return of a long missing member of Diamond Mine to help them? Gallus is a very strong team and they have not lost much from their time as NXT UK champs. I think the momentum from Tuesday night will be enough to give Tony and Stacks the titles.
NXT Women's Tag Team Champions Kiana James and Fallon Henley vs. Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn.
Dave: There is a whole lot of odd in this match. Fyre and Dawn as a team? Why? Champs retain.
Mike: Does the soap opera seek into the wrestling? WWE had Fyre and Dawn doing media together this weekend. That makes me wonder if they are due for a title win.
Richard: Will the secret that Kiana is keeping from Brooks going to be the thing that ushers in new champions? Fallon and Kiana are a team of unlikely partners, but their opponents are almost as 'why are they a team'. What spell does Isla Dawn have on Alba Fyre and how can we get it removed? The more that Fyre is in the match, the better it will be. I don't think they should take the titles off Fallon and Kiana so fast because they haven't finished the Love Polygon between Kiana, Brooks, and others.
Johnny Gargano vs. Grayson Waller in an Unsanctioned Match
Dave: Gargano should win since he is defending Shawn Michaels and all. If they go that way, Waller should debut on Raw on Monday and destroy Johnny.
Mike: If Waller doesn't win, I don't see the point of this. Gargano having a great return match should be the reward here in my mind.
Richard: It is always good to see Johnny back in NXT but is it going to be a good return for him? Grayson Waller has a lot of upside potential and to be able to beat the man hand picked by Shawn Michaels would do a lot for Waller's future. This match stipulation should favor Gargano because he has more experience in these matches but I think if you want to build the future of this brand, Waller is the one who needs the win. Waller needs to show an edge that we have not seen before. Maybe this is Waller's swan song and he could be on his way to Raw or Smackdown.
Chase University (Andre Chase, Thea Hail, and Duke Hudson) and Tyler Bate vs. The Schism for Control of Chase University
Dave: I am all for The Schism getting control of Chase U. It should make for fun stories.
Mike: I am with Dave here. Historically, Ava making her first televised in-ring match should be a nice moment for the Johnson/Maivia family legacy.
Richard: After the video package from The Schism on Tuesday's show, I am all for a change in management at Chase U. There is one big story in this match and it is not how will Ava do in her first major match, but what is Duke Hudson's state of mind. He has not been a positive influence with Chase U and Thea's over-positivity might neutralize Duke's attitude. The Schism is a more cohesive unit and that could be the advantage in this match. Will The Schism get inside Thea's head and cause problems. I think Tuesday night will see an 'Under New Administration' sign outside the halls of Chase U when Duke Hudson turns and costs them the match.
Pretty Deadly Host Stand and Deliver
Dave: These guys are great characters. They will bring the fun.
Mike: Let them do whatever they want. They will be on the main roster one day.
Richard: This might be the thing that I am most excited about for this show. I loved their previews from this week's show and their line about Tiffany Stratton being the third best dressed in NXT was awesome. Since they are eccentric British characters, I hope they decide to dress up like Adam Ant from the Stand and Deliver video. We need many costume changes and buffoonery.
