AEW RAMPAGE REPORT

It’s time for AEW Rampage and it was recorded after Dynamite on Wednesday at the Canada Life Center in Winnipeg, MB, Canada.. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Paul Wight, and Tony Schiavone.

Powerhouse Hobbs (TNT Champion) vs Rey Fenix 

Hobbs shoves Fenix down and then picks him up and whips him into the ropes. Fenix leaps off the ropes into Hobbs, but Hobbs is able to shoulder tackle him down again. Hobbs runs at Fenix, and Fenix pulls down the rope and Hobbs goes to the floor. Fenix hits two topes and then a moonsault into Hobbs to finally knock him down. 

They return to the ring and Hobbs grabs Fenxi out of the air and slams him for two. They go to the outside and Hobbs tosses Fenix into the barricade. After he does it a second time, Hobbs returns to the ring. Hobbs leaves the ring and tosses Fenix into the ring. He whips Fenix into the turnbuckle and Fenix drops to the mat. He whips Fenix to the turnbuckle again and Fenix is down on the mat again. Hobbs stalks Fenix in the ring and then locks on a nerve hold. 

Hobbs hits a delayed vertical suplex for two as we go to picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, Fenix has pretty much been beaten down outside the ring through the break. Hobbs pulls Fenxi into the ring and Fenix collapses on the mat. Hobbs locks on a nerve hold again. Fenix escapes with elbows and gets a Pele kick and other kicks, but Hobbs doesn’t go down. Fenix gets on the rope, and Hobbs sweeps the leg. He then yanks Fenix off the ropes into a power slam for two.

Fenix is able to get in a few blows in the corner on Hobbs and tries for a suplex, but Hobbs hits a back elbow to escape. Fenix finally gets a German suplex for one. Fenix gets a cutter for two. Fenix misses a kick from running the top rope. Hobbs charges into Fenix, ramming him into the turnbuckle and then hits a spinebuster for two. 

Hobbs pulls Fenix up and Fenix gets a kick. Hobbs hits an elbow strike, and Fenix hits a kick and both men are down. Fenix goes to the top. Fenix hits a frog splash and covers for two. Fenix gets a series of kicks on Hobbs, and when Fenix goes for a pop up attack, Hobbs hits a spine buster. Hobbs puts Fenix in the torture rack, and then slams Fenix for the pin and the win.

Winner and still TNT Champion: Powerhouse Hobbs

After the match, QT Marshall hits a Diamond Butter on Fenix’s assistant Alex.

We get a video on Adam Cole returning next week. 

Taya Valkyrie vs The Already In The Ring Eva Lois

Taya slams Lois and then beats her down in the corner. Taya hits a double knee strike in the corner. She lights up Lois with chops, follows with a spear, and then hits the Jaded that she calls the Ride of the Valkyries for the pin and the win.

Winner: Taya Valkyrie

Jade Cargill, Leia Grey and Smark Mark Sterling are on stage taking notes.

We then get a video showcasing Matt Hardy training Stokely Hathaway.

Matt Menard and Chase Parker Vs The Bollywood Boyz

Parker starts with Boy #1, and it quickly becomes all four men in the ring with Parker and Menard in control. The Boys regroup and get a slam on Parker, who rolls out of the ring. When he comes into the ring, Menard comes in and clothesline Boy #1. He gets a snap suplex and we go to picture in picture.

I wish they would let us know the Bollywood Boyz individual names.  

When we return to full screen, Parker and Menard have taken down the Boyz, and they hit an elevated DDT on one of the Boyz for the pin and the win.

Winners: Matt Menard and Angelo Parker

We get a video with Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita. Callis welcomes Takeshita to Canada with flowers and a drummer stating this is the welcome you get when you are with Don Callis.

We see The Gunns' issues with Top Flight.

Daniel Garcia w/Chris Jericho vs Brody King w/Julia Hart

Garcia goes outside the ring to hug Jericho. Brody chases Garcia around the ring, but Garica bails when Brody gets into the ring. They do this for a bit and Garcia gets a drop kick to Brody’s knee.  Brody  recovers quickly and starts tossing Garcia corner to corner. Brody gets a slap on Garcia and Garcia rolls out of the ring and it starts all over again. 

Julia Hart stars in Garcia’s way, allowing Brody to catch up to him. Brody gets a double chop on Garcia and Garcia is then tossed into the barricade. Brody tosses Garcia around outside the ring. Brody puts Garcia in a chair and then he hits a crossbody of Garcia in the chair. Garcia is thrown into the steel steps. Garcia is able to get a drop toe hold, knocking Brody into the step as we go picture in picture.

When we return to full screen, both men are in the ring and Brody hits a swinging slam on Garcia for two. Brody then hits a delayed pile driver for two. Brody hits a chop on Garcia in the corner. His second chop folds Garcia up, allowing Brody to hit a cannonball.  Brody covers and Garcia gets a foot on the rope at two.

Garcia is able to get a series of strikes at the back of Brody’s knee and then gets on his back for a sleeper. Brody starts to fade, but is able to back into the turnbuckle to knock Garcia off. Garcia locks on the sleeper again, and Brody pulls him over the top and slams him. Brody hits a discus lariat. Brody pulls Garcia up for the Gonzo bomb, but Garcia is able to maneuver so that Brody loses his balance and goes to the corner. 

Brody charges into the corner, and Garcia dodges, getting the rollup for two. Garcia locks on the Walls of Jericho. Brody is able to crawl across the ring to the ropes. After Garcia breaks, Jericho nails Brody with the bat. Garcia locks on a sleeper and Brody is knocked out.

Winner: Daniel Garcia
