3/5 NJPW NEW JAPAN CUP RESULTS FROM TOKYO

Quick 3/5/23 Results from the New Japan Cup - Korakuen Hall, Tokyo Japan:

1 - Kosei Fujita and Zack Sabre Jr. vs. Ryohei Oiwa and Tama Tonga, with Jado

Fujita forces Oiwa to tap out to a double wrist lock.

2 - SHO, Yujiro Takahashi, Dick Togo and EVIL vs. Ryusuke Taguchi, Master Wato, Ren Narita and Shota Umino

Wato forces Togo to tap out with Vendaval.

3 - Chase Owens, KENTA and Gedo vs. El Desperado, Yuto Nakashima and Minoru Suzuki

Owens hits a C Trigger and a Package Piledriver on Nakashima.   Owens pins Nakashima.

KENTA brawls with Suzuki after the match.  KENTA received a big welt on his head after the fight.

4 - Toru Yano, YOH and Lio Rush vs. BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi and Shingo Takagi

BUSHI came to the ring with an awesome Aliens inspired mask.

Takagi pins Yano with a backslide.

5 - Tomoaki Honma, Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada vs. Tomohiro Ishii, YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto

Ishii pins Honma after a brainbuster.

New Japan Cup Matches:

6 - Round One match: Tetsuya Naito vs. El Phantasmo

Naito pins ELP with a roll up.  Tetsuya Naito moves on in the tournament.

7 - Round One match:  Taichi vs. SANADA

SANADA pins Taichi after a variation of a twisting DDT.  SANADA moves on in the tournament.     After the match, SANADA shakes Taichi’s hand and leaves the ring, with no post match address to the crowd.
