Wrestling Open Week 59

2/16/23 - Worcester, MA

Wrestling Open has a LOT to live up to this week after last week’s insanely good main event.

Tonight, the tag team medals are up for grabs, one of a few big matches the champs have in the next couple of weeks. Is Kylon good to go after last week’s war? But first a spotlight match!

Spotlight Match: “The Cure” Lucas Chase vs Bobby Orlando (w/ Bobby Jr)

Chase thinks Bobby the lamest. Bobby is a nerd. Worcester thinks his jabs are quite absurd. That said, Chase is strong. He’s just throwing our Mom around and getting in everyone’s face.  Bobby coming back with punches, he catches Lucas out of the corner with a Bobby slam and a dab elbow closes this out!

Winner: Bobby Orlando

It’s tiiiiime! Paul “King of Twitter” Crockett & Denver Colorado are at the commentary desk tonight! Rich Palladino is your announcer! This is WRESTLING OPEN!!!!

Match 1: Big Bacon Brad Hollister vs CPA

Brad isn’t here to clown around with the tax man and he just runs in, double legs him and rips off his first shirt and tie. And the second one! He thinks he’s got it in the bag but CPA with a lariat and powerbomb! He tries a jump off the apron but Bacon obviously catches him and belly to bellies him on the floor. Hard hip attack! suplex! Gator roll but CPA is fighting….Bacon swarming, he tries the jackhammer…CPA with another powerbomb and a somersault off the apron connects! Diving ddt to Bacon…he doesn’t get all of it so it’s time to crunch numbers? Huge lariat! Bacon goes for the jackhammer again, Crunching Numbers! Bacon gets a leg on the rope! Bradley Baconbits catches a Form 1099…CPA gets caught in the apron and Brad hits the deadlift tornado jackhammer for the win!

Winner: Brad Hollister

Match 2: Pairs Van Dale vs Notorious Mimi

Mimi starts strong and the crowds into it. Paris just pulls her hair back to the ground and starts working her in the ropes. Stand on her hair and just yank her upwards. Owwwww. Swinging neckbreaker but Mimi’s not done. She rallies back with an X factor for two. Paris coming running into a spinning back kick that ends her night!

Winner: Notorious Mimi

Ray Jaz is here. He has a tip. I’m sure the people at home hear it but we sure don’t. Booooooooooooooooooooo! No one has the type of loud crowd reaction as Jaz. Denver Colorado says Jaz wants a match? AH, I guess he’s still mad about not being on the last Beyond show. DC has a match for Jaz. At Beyond Wrestling’s “Perfection or Vanity”, Jaz’s mystery opponent ASKED to face him. Feb 26? Ray Jaz has a date with RICKEY SHANE PAGE!!! Jaz looks VERY concerned at what awaits him.

Love Doug is here with his one-night WINGMAN…Sidney Bakabella! Bakabella is out here with heart balloons, flowers and cupid wings and a fancy fedora hat and he looks MISERABLE. We call him “Sexy Sidney”. He hates it.

Match 3: Curt Robinson vs Love Doug

Robinson with the lock up but Doug goes dancing and gets the prom post early. Robinson picks the leg but Doug grabs the headlock. Sidney is having a hard time with his wings and Doug tries to help, Curt with a forearm from behind! Curt with a trap suplex. Another toss and Bakabella is just being a terrible wingman and coaching Robinson. Robinson grinding Doug out while Bakabella is popping the balloons. Robinson comes out of the corner Doug out of danger, springboard back elbow for two! Smooches forearm! Bulldog! Kick out! Robinson with an electric chair drop and bridge for two! Bakabella is just full on managing Curt at this point. Bakabella is left furious as Doug hits the rebound lariat for the three count! Doug and a very confused why all the balloons are popped. Bakabella blames a nearby fan. Doug is perpetually over with this crowd. Bakabella was just a delight here. Robinson absolutely showed off his ring skills tonight. I just want to see a little more reason to definitively cheer or boo this man.

Winner: Love Doug

Match 4: Percy Ryan vs Ichiban

Percy Ryan doesn’t want Ichiban to touch him. He’s just offended at the idea. He can’t quite escape the grasp of number one, who goes for the quick pins and levels Ryan with a dropkick. Ryan with a step up big boot to the jaw and Ichiban tumbles to the floorboards. Hard chopping back from Ichiban but Percy unloads right back. Hard whip to the buckles for two. Ichiban tries the single corner punches but Percy hits a DVD into a pose. Sweet spot. Ichiban comes running with the flatliner…Ryan kicks him out of the air! Brain buster! Kick out straight to a crossface. Ichiban fights out! Percy Ryan is trying HARD to get the upset here. Ichiban hits a jaw breaker! Missile dropkick! He’s feeling it! The crowds popping! Ryan reverses the flatliner again! High cross body as Percy fails to kick Ichiban off the top again. Ryan stays down! Ichiban is a fantastic opponent but this was an incredible showing from Percy Ryan, good mix of solid work and just being a total s***bag.

Winner: Ichiban

Rich Palladino has an announcement for Ichiban. After the double pin controversy and huge brawl from a couple of weeks back, he’s going to get another shot at the young Prodigy….Ichiban is one on one with Marcus Mathers next week at “Started from the Bottom”!

Match 5: Brick City Boyz (Victor Chase & J Cruz)  vs Better Together (Hadar Horvitz & Ori Gold)

Gold wants hugs and Horvitz wants to fight. Maybe he should have gone for the hug cause Chase just gutwrench slams him down. Better together IS better together as they start double teaming BCB! Chase isolates Horvitz and BCB goes to work. Cruz stomps him out in the corner. Chase with a hard suplex. Double kick combo, Horvitz manages a kick out but he’s just taking more punishment. Big spinebuster for two. Horvitz finally freed and Gold in hot! Cruz taking the fire! Flying corner clothesline! He uses Chase as a springboard! Fallllllllcon arrow! Cruz kicks out! Gold gets his hug finally but Chase uses the opportunity and just blasts through them. Brick end to Gold. Goodnight!

Winner: Brick City Boyz

Pedro Dones is here. He says walking out on Rex Lawless last week was part of his plan. I’m not sure what part it plays…cause he’s gotta fight Boofa tonight. He’s gonna call his shot. Dones wants…the leg.

Match 6: “The Shot Caller” Pedro Dones vs “The Big Boofa” Dezmond Cole

Pedro is ready to kill this dancing man. They trade mocking taunts. Great stuff. Boofa with his  high flying good dance moves, Dones just no nonsense. Sunset flip bomb! Shotgun dropkick! Pedro doesn’t have an answer to this quickness. Or maybe he does as he shoulder tackles through a leapfrog. Nasty landing and Dones is suddenly on target. He even wears Boofa’s hat and glasses! Boofa dodges out of the corner…bulldog? Dones reverses it to a sitout bomb! Dones kicks out the leg. Boofa with a sweep! Split to the capo kick! Suplex! Boofa runs into a back kick but stacks Dones in the corner and slams him out. This should be it but the death spasm of Dones saves the match at two! Cole rolls in for a legdrop…Dones catches it into a figure four! Cole rolls it! Pedro rolls it  back! Cole tries to fight it but Pedro arches back and gets the tap. Damn!

Winner: Pedro Dones

Why is Brother Greatness here? Why is he in a suit?!? He tells Cole he’s sorry for what he’s going through. He wants to help Cole? Cole lets BG help him up but swats off the hand. Greatness plays extra sincere and he helps Cole to the back. What’s happening here?

Rich Palladino announces that next week at “Started from the Bottom”, we will have our first Tag Team Open Door War!!! I was literally just thinking “oh man, we’re never gonna have another Open Door War until Dones actually uses his contract, huh?” I’m glad I was mistaken!

Rich brings out Bobby Orlando! We love another chance to sing along with his entrance! He has some words to get off his chest. He just had his five year anniversary of his first match! But his most fun memories are being here every Thursday! He welcomes all the new talent showing up here! But sometimes you have to deal with ghosts of the past…BRONSON. Orlando does not appreciate this new attitude and targeting he’s received. Next week, he’s gonna be here to get some answers!

It’s Ranch time. My ears are bleeding as he says Howdy Howdy. He reminds Alec that they are undefeated as a tag team…so they are getting a tag team title shot NEXT WEEK. Noooo.

Match 7: Stetson Ranch (Alec Price, Danny Miles, BRG w/ Steven Stetson) vs Mutually Assured Destruction (Perry Von Vicious & Rip Byson) and Rex Lawless

BRG thinks he can go toe to toe with Rex. Haha no. BRG just getting frustrated as he gets overpowered over and over. He still thinks he’s got this…for the Ranch. Which is exactly when he tags out to Alec. Alec is still very conflicted about his role in this group. He has a really good jumping ropes sequence to a head scissor. It’s time for Rip and Danny to test their meat. Danny is bouncing oFf Ripper. He slams Perry into the enforcer. Perry with a spinning powerslam for two! BRG decked off the apron but he uses the chance to grab Perry’s leg and that’s all the opening the Ranch needed. Perry trying to fight the onslaught, BRG drops him in the corner, diving fist for two. The ranch minus Price is just strutting. Perry catches them with a double suplex! Tag to Rex! He’s killing Miles and BRG! Double fallaway slam! Price is just watching them fail from the corner, as he has no Motivation to help. Price tagged in and he exits everyone to the floor! Tope to everyone! We only have a minute left! Rip is dropped, BRG tags himself in and tries to steal the win. BRG is instantly outmatched, he wants out but Price stands in the corner. Rip with a gutwrench powerbomb and Stetson watches in horror as Price lets the three count happen. I mean he wasn’t the legal man and it’s not like he wanted to draw a DQ!  Stetson is FURIOUS and clearly he’s going to be having words with Price in the back before they challenge for the titles next week.

Winners: MAD & Rex Lawless

Main Event: Miracle Generation(c) (Kylon King & Dustin Waller) vs Fancy Snipers (Fancy Ryan Clancy & TJ Crawford)

The crowd is SPLIT between these two favorite teams. The Fancy Snipers name is OFFICIAL! We just hope everyone has fun. Good high energy trading between Flash and Clancy. Kylon and TJ trade some heavy leather. Kylon tries to flip free but lands bad and TJ runs him over. Time for Clancy to enter and help TJ work the champ over. Dustin disputing the tactics from the corner but Kylon with a desperation back breaker! Tag to Dustin! Huge splash flurry! Fancy kicks out! Miracle starting to work Clancy over as TJ builds his rage meter on the apron. Clancy greed and TJ back in…but maybe his rage isn’t as high as it has been in recent weeks. Miracle taking the silver sniper apart too. Reversal to a slingshot double stunner! TJ slides through and tags Fancy! Suplex to Kylon! He’s out to the floor. Toe to toe with Flash! TJ catches him trying the handspring and Fancy nails him from behind! Close two! Kylon saves the double russian! Slam to a power bomb combo on Clancy! Kick out! They want the powerplex? TJ cuts it off! Kylon spiked! Fancy splash! Dustin cuts it off with a splash! Crowd pops huge! TJ looking on fire as he goes to trade chops with Kylon again. TJ pops him up for a kick! Dustin with the handspring cutter! He tries it on Clancy, reverse to the side Russian! Dustin isn’t legal! Kylon with a roll through and bridge! Kick out! TJ is raging up and he’s lost in the moment. Clancy has Kylon ready for the side Russian but Dustin blasts him from behind! Kylon drops Clancy and bridges for the three! This was awesome!

Winners: Miracle Generation

Next week is our next special event! Will the tag team medals go home to the Hidden Valley or will Miracle Generation enter “Perfection or Vanity” as our champs when they compete for the IWTV tag titles against Violence is Forever?
