IMPACT WRESTLING ON AXS TV REPORT

Welcome to the Impact Wrestling on AXS TV report!

- The show starts off with a tribute to the late Jerry Jarrett.

- Highlights are shown of what went down recently between Impact Wrestling Digital Media Champion Joe Hendry, Matt Cardona, Moose and Brian Myers. Highlights are also shown of what went down recently between Impact World Heavyweight Champion Josh Alexander, Kenny King and Rich Swann.

Chris Bey w/Ace Austin vs. Kushida w/The Motor City Machineguns

The match begins with Bey hiding in the ropes to avoid Kushida, Kushida takes Bey down before getting him in a chin lock. Bey gets free and some chain wrestling takes place between himself and Kushida, Bey has a test of strength with Kushida and Kushida blocks a kick attempt. Bey nails Kushida with a shoulder to the midsection followed by a double stomp, Kushida gets up and Bey nails him with an elbow smash to the back of the head. Kushida fights back and he hits Bey with a handspring elbow strike, Kushida follows Bey out of the ring and Bey sends him into the ringside edge. Kushida gets back in the ring and he kicks Bey back to the arena floor, Kushida then hits Bey with a leaping knee strike from the ring apron. Kushida gets Bey back in the ring before working over his injured arm, Bey fights back and Kushida attacks his injured arm. Kushida then hits Bey with a bulldog onto his injured arm for a near fall, Bey fights back again and he trades strikes with Kushida. Kushida drops Bey before applying a chin lock to him, Kushida releases the hold before attacking Bey’s injured arm. 

Kushida traps the arm of Bey in his legs before snapping it, Bey goes to the ring apron and Kushida follows him out there before missing a leaping knee strike. Bey then hits Kushida with a modified 619, Kushida and Bey both go down on the arena floor after a double clothesline. Kushida and Bey eventually beat the ref’s count by making it back to the ring, Kushida and Bey have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Bey ends the exchange by nailing Kushida with a leaping clothesline, Bey follows up by hitting Kushida with an avalanche followed by a TKO for a near fall. Bey sets up for a brain buster and Kushida escapes, Bey then knocks Kushida into the ropes after landing ane nziguri. Kushida recovers and he knocks Bey out of the ring with a rolling thunder, Kushida then dives off of the top rope and he crashes onto Bey. Kushida gets Bey back into the ring before kicking his injured arm, Kushida follows up by landing a basement drop kick on Bey. Kushida looks for a suplex and Bey defends before eating a drop kick to the injured arm, Kushida goes for the kimura and Bey defends by sending him into the ropes.

Bey then hits Kushida with a springboard fame-asser for a near fall, Bey goes for the Art Of Finesse and Kushida catches him in midair with an arm bar. Bey gets free and he catches Kushida in a roll up for a near fall, Kushida and Bey exchange some more strikes in the middle of the ring. Kushida eventually catches Bey in a small package for a three count.

Winner: Kushida w/The Motor City Machineguns

- Santino is backstage with Tommy Dreamer, Bully Ray arrives and he tells Dreamer to tell Mickie James to keep her mouth shut. Santino talks about the rivalry Dreamer and Ray have had since their ECW days, Santino wants Dreamer and Ray to work things out on a future episode of Busted Open Live. Dreamer wants to end things with Ray and Ray agrees with him, Ray then tells Dreamer that he has to leave Impact Wrestling. Dreamer says he doesn’t want to go down this road with Ray, Ray and Dreamer argue over who should leave Impact Wrestling. Santino tries to calm things down before Ray and Dreamer start arguing again, Santino proposes a Beat The Clock Challenge for next week and the winner gets to speak first on Busted Open Live.

Impact World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender Fatal 4 Way Qualifying Match: Steve Maclin vs. Rhino

The match begins with Rhino backing Maclin into the corner before separating from him, Rhino starts going after the arm of Maclin before getting him in a headlock. Maclin gets free and he cracks Rhino with a series of strikes, Rhino recovers and he drops Maclin with a shoulder block. Rhino backs Maclin into the corner after landing some chops, Maclin recovers and he nails Rhino with a forearm strike. Maclin goes for a suplex and Rhino counters with a suplex of his own, Rhino then hits Maclin with a hip toss. Rhino sets up for a gore and Maclin gets out of the ring, Rhino also leaves the ring and he cracks Maclin with some more strikes. Rhino goes for a chop and he nails the ring post after Maclin gets out of the way, Maclin then shoves Rhino into the ring post as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Maclin working over Rhino in the corner, Rhino fights back and Maclin attacks his injured shoulder before landing a short arm clothesline for a near fall. Maclin keeps Rhino down while landing more strikes on him, Maclin follows up by choking Rhino on the middle rope.

Maclin traps Rhino in the corner again while landing more strikes, Maclin gets Rhino out of the corner before getting a near fall on a pin attempt. Maclin keeps Rhino down while applying a chin lock to him, Rhino gets free and Maclin drops him with a boot to the face. Maclin goes for a middle rope diving headbutt and Rhino gets out of the way, Rhino then drops Maclin multiple times with clotheslines. Rhino corners Maclin before landing a corner spear followed by a belly to belly suplex for a near fall, Maclin fights back and Rhino hits him with a spine buster. Rhino goes for The Gore and Maclin gets out of the way before landing a spear of his own for a near fall, Maclin sets up for the KIA and Rhino escapes before eating a neck breaker for a three count.

Winner: Steve Maclin

- Masha Slamovich is interviewed backstage by Gia Miller, Slamovich answers every question with a yes or no in Russian before saying that Mickie James will watch her break Alisha tonight.

- Rich Swann is shown warming up backstage.

- Zicky Dice gets a microphone before the next match to talk about Johnny Swinger needing 50 wins to get a shot at the Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion, Dice says he has chosen Barry Horowitz as Swinger’s opponent for tonight. 

Johnny Swinger w/Zicky Dice vs. Barry Horowitz

The match begins with Swinger nailing Horowitz with a chop block while Horowitz argued with Dice, Swinger traps Horowitz in the corner while attacking the injured leg. Swinger also chokes Horowitz multiple times in the corner, Swinger misses a charge in the corner and Horowitz nails him with some strikes. Dice argues with Horowitz again and Swinger pokes Horowitz in the eyes behind the ref’s back, Swinger sets up for a neck breaker when The Demon comes to the ringside area. Horowitz gets a distracted Swinger in an abdominal stretch before rolling him up for a three count.

Winner: Barry Horowitz

- Gia Miller interviews Moose, who talks about Joe Hendry defeating Matt Cardona last week on Impact Wrestling. Moose says Hendry will not humiliate him again because he plans on getting even.

- Moose is shown in the parking lot after the commercial break, he takes a baseball bat to Joe Hendry’s car. Santino comes out and he reveals that the car is his, Hendry appears and he mocks Moose before Santino books Hendry against Moose in a Dot Combat Match at No Surrender.

Impact World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contender Fatal 4 Way Qualifying Match: Eddie Edwards vs. Heath

The match begins with some chain wrestling between Heath and Edwards, Heath goes after the arm of Edwards before Edwards gets him in a headlock. Heath gets free and he drops Edwards with a shoulder tackle followed by multiple flying forearm strikes, Heath uses a clothesline to knock Edwards out of the ring. Heath then dives off of the ring apron and onto Edwards, Heath gets Edwards back in the ring and Edwards quickly knocks him to the arena floor. Edwards then hits Heath with a suicide dive, Edwards gets Heath back in the ring after sending him face first into the mat. Edwards gets in the ring and he nails Heath with a knee drop, Edwards follows up by dropping Heath with a running elbow smash for a near fall. Heath fights back and Edwards responds with strikes of his own, Edwards drops Heath again before landing a knee drop to his midsection. Edwards keeps Heath down while choking him a few times, Heath gets up and Edwards cracks him with some more strikes. Edwards gets Heath back down before applying a camel clutch to him, Heath gets free and he nails Edwards with a few strikes before eating a headbutt.

Heath recovers to hit Edwards with a leg lariat followed by a knee strike and corner spear, Heath then hits Edwards with a power slam for a near fall. Heath goes for the Wake Up Call and Edwards avoids it before eating a spine buster for a near fall, Heath goes to the top rope and Edwards crotches him. Edwards climbs the ropes and he nails Heath with a superplex, Edwards then hits Heath with a tiger driver for a near fall. Edwards goes for a knee strike and Heath counters with a roll up for a near fall, Edwards recovers and he drops Heath with a clothesline. Edwards sets up for a Die Hard Driver when PCO’s music plays, Heath hits a distracted Edwards with the Wake Up Call for a three count.

Winner: Heath

After the match, PCO appears in the ring and he brawls with Eddie Edwards. PCO drops Edwards before landing a reverse DDT, PCO climbs the ropes and Edwards leaves the ring before heading backstage. 

- The Design appears and Deaner talks to Sami Callihan about Frankie Kazarian questioning his motives for wanting to join The Design. Deaner says he and Callihan with face Kazarian and Yuya Uemura next week, Callihan wants to know what step five will be for joining The Design and Angels says he will find out next week.

- James Mitchell is backstage with The Hex, Mitchell talks about The Hex attacking The Death Dollz last week. Mitchell says Rosemary upset her father by not paying tribute when she became the Knockouts Tag Team Champion with Havok, Allysin Kay and Marti Belle say they have unfinished business with the Death Dollz.

- Impact Knockouts Champion Mickie James makes her way to the announce table before the next match.

Masha Slamovich vs. Alisha

The match begins with Alisha hitting Slamovich with a few strikes, Slamovich fights back and she drops Alisha with multiple short arm clotheslines. Slamovich follows up by nailing Alisha with a suplex, Alisha fights back and Slamovich nails her with a release German suplex. Slamovich then nails a downed Alisha with a stomp to the back of the head, Slamovich then hits Alisha with a Snow Plow for a three count.

Winner: Masha Slamovich

After the match, Masha Slamovich continues attacking Alisha until Mickie James makes the save. Slamovich then locks James in a rear naked choke until a bunch of officials break everything up.

- Crazzy Steve and Black Taursus appear talking about Trey Miguel, Steve talks about Miguel making a mistake by attacking him recently. Steve challenges Miguel to a Monsters Ball Match for the X-Division Title.

- Kenny King is shown warming up backstage.

- Highlights are shown of Jonathan Gresham challenging Mike Bailey for a match at No Surrender, which Bailey accepts.

- Santino is backstage with Mike Bailey, Jonathan Gesham and Dirty Dango, Santino makes Gresham vs, Bailey official for No Surrender. Dango says Bailey and Gresham will tag next week against The Motor City Machineguns, which Santino agrees to. Barry Horowitz arrives and he wants a title shot if he can get 50 wins, Santino says he can face Rhino next week and Horowitz backs down.

Rich Swann vs. Kenny King

The match begins with King dropping Swann with a knee strike followed by some stomps, King traps Swann in the corner while landing more strikes. Swann fights back and he cracks King with a few strikes before eating a back elbow strike, King keeps Swann down while kicking him in the back. King stands Swann up and Swann sends him to the ring apron before knocking him to the arena floor, Swann then hits King with a dive from the ring apron. Swann gets King back in the ring before landing a high cross body for a near fall, Swann keeps King down while stomping away on him. King gets up and Swann corners him while landing more strikes, Swann keeps King cornered while landing a leaping back elbow strike. Swann gets King in a seated position before kicking him in the back a few times, King recovers to catch a leaping Swann and drop him face first on the top turnbuckle. King then nails Swann with a clothesline for a near fall, King keeps Swann down while pulling on his hair. Swann fights back and King eventually nails him with a back breaker for a near fall, King goes for a springboard leg drop and Swann avoids it.

Swann then hits King with multiple drop kicks, King fights back and Swann escapes his suplex attempt by countering it with a DDT as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Swann hit King with a leaping clothesline, Swann follows up by hitting King with a neck breaker followed by a mule kick to the face for a near fall. King recovers and he manages to hit Swann with a spine buster for a near fall, King gets Swann up on his shoulders and Swann gets free before exchanging strikes with him. King ends the exchange by hitting Swann with a power slam for a near fall, King backs Swann into the corner while landing more strikes. King gets Swann on the top rope and he follows him up there, Swann fights back and he knocks King off the ropes before landing a super sunset flip for a near fall. Swann then hits King with a poison rana for another near fall, Swann then hits King with a few spinning back kicks to the midsection. King avoids a penalty kick before getting Swann in a single leg crab, Swann eventually gets to the ropes to break the hold.

King misses a spinning head kick and Swann lands multiple head kicks of his own, King recovers and he drops Swann with his own head kick. Swann gets up first and he hits King with a handspring cutter for a near fall, Swann goes to the middle rope before missing a phoenix splash attempt. King then hits Swann with a release German suplex followed by a tiger driver for a near fall, King goes for the Royal Flush and Swann counters with a small package for a three count.

Winner: Rich Swann

After the match, Kenny King attacks Rich Swann and Josh Alexander makes the save after King grabs a steel chair. Swann then accidentally hits Alexander with a super kick that was intended for King.
