WWE Raw Women's Champion Bianca Belair and her husband, Montez Ford of The Street Profits appeared on yesterday's edition of nationally syndicated talk show Sheri, hosted by Sheri Shepherd to promote this Saturday's WWE Elimination Chamber 2023 event.
Shepherd asked the couple what they would be doing for Valentine's Day. Ford said he can't say because he'd ruin everything planned and he's horrible at keeping secrets. They are going to be a Broadway show and they love NYC because there are so many wrestling fans in NYC.
They noted Ford just bought Bianca a boat for her birthday and showed footage of Belair losing it when she was gifted it. Ford said when they first started dating, they visited with her family and her father has a boat. Bianca just loved being on it and kept mentioning it and he realized, "she really wants a boat", so he planned for it for the next four years and finally gifted it to her for her birthday. Ford said he advised anyone who wanted to buy one to plan ahead.
They were asked who made the first move in their relationship. Belair said it was her and it was the first time she ever did such a thing. The first time she saw him, Bianca told her friend to "keep him away from me, that is a beautiful man" but they happened to be out at the same place that night and she went after him. She said she was flirting with him all night but he wasn't paying her any mind. He then said, "I like your makeup" and then admitted he was nervous talking to her. She made the first move and accidentally gave him the wrong phone number. Ford said he didn't mind and sometimes "moves have to be made."
Ford said he was seeing "some signs" but wasn't sure and was trying to be respectful. Then, "that final move was made" and they were busy and entertained but the next day they were "both sad" because the number she gave him was off one number. He was texting her and not getting any replies. Bianca was wondering why she wasn't hearing from him. Ford said one of his friends told him that Bianca texted him because she left her phone charger in Ford's car. His reaction was, "So, she can text you and not me?" Then, Ford checked the number in his friend's phone and it was a 3 instead of a 6 in phone number Ford had for her, and now they are married.
They talked about their forthcoming reality series for Hulu. They filmed three days last week. They had Raw Monday, had Tuesday off to get themselves a chance to catch their breath and do errands and pay bills, then filmed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday before going back on the road. Bianca said the series would show who they are at home and their family dynamic. She said they have a very supportive family at home with their parents. Her mom is always asking when they are going to have babies. They are best friends and get to travel together and work together. Ford said it really does take a village.
They keep their relationship out of company storylines. Bianca said they each have enough talent to do their own thing and keep it separate. She also said that if you put your marriage in a storyline, then she has to go out there and "fight another girl for my man, so listen I'll have to fight for what's mine." She said she likes to keep their marriage sacred and separate.
Bianca said he's proud to see Montez make his "solo debut" at the WWE Elimination Chamber and she's happy to be there to support him the way she supports him. Shepherd noted that Bianca was the "first black female match" at Wrestlemania and the longest reigning black World Champion in WWE. Belair said she's made a lot of history but she's just been going out there to accomplish her goals and her dreams. She made history and she wants to be inspirational. She said you don't have to look to history books to find history, you can be the history you want to be.
They noted Montez has been one half of the Street Profits but this weekend is his big solo debut (inside the Chamber). Ford said he's loved pro wrestling since he first saw it, noting the first person he ever saw was The Godather "and his entourage" but the one who really hooked him and reeled him in was Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. He said Johnson brought him through a lot of things in life, including losing his sister at 10 years old. He said Johnson was someone who really motivated him in life. Shepherd said she was excited to see him compete by himself.
Shepherd thanked them for coming and asked them to come back in the future. They plugged The Elimination Chamber airing live on Peacock this Saturday.
It was a really well done appearance as each came off very as very likeable ambassadors for WWE.
