Wrestling Open Week 58

2/9/23 - Worcester, MA

Lio Rush returns to Worcester to finish what he started at “Miight Snow” and take on Kylon King!  Will Ray Jaz hijack the show again? Will Alec Price escape the clutches of the Stetson ranch? We have a spotlight match first! 

Spotlight Match: Michael Mistretta vs Fancy Ryan Clancy 

Mistretta is angry and Ryan is Fancy. The crowd is 100% behind Clancy. He works Mistretta and almost gets the side Russian. Michael trips him into the corner and just starts screaming about how fancy he is. Clancy rolls through a monkey flip. Big slams! Mistretta dodges a corner splash….he goes for a running attack in the corner while Ryan has his head trapped. Clancy reverses into the side Russian for the win!

Winner: Fancy Ryan Clancy

And we’re live on IWTV! Rich Palladino is your announcer! Paul Crockett and Denver Colorado are your commentators! We’re opening with a huge debut!

Match 1: Mortar vs Alex Coughlin 

It was a Shock announcement this week that NJPW’s Alex Coughlin is making a stop in Worcester tonight. In his path is Mortar, who has been on string of good hard hitting matches this month. Big strong lockups! Coughlin with a snap body toss. Mortar does NOT like that. He starts pummeling but Coughlin just tosses him off. Every time Mortar thinks he has the upper hand, Coughling muscles him over. The ring is shifting position as these big dudes hits the ropes and buckles. Who tosses mortar around like this? Mortar with the powerslam for two. Coughlin pops over a powerslam, big hit. Fallaway slam with a bridge??? Mortar kicks out but Coughlin transitions to a cross armbreaker. Mortar reaches for the rope but Alex pulls his arm back with his foot and Mortar has to tap! This was a hard hitting treat of a match.

Winner: Alex Coughlin

Match 2: B3CCA vs Shannon LaVangie

Becca’s gonna shake hands? Of course it’s a trap. Becca unloading on Shannon’s back. Shannon with a reverse to a sitout bomb. Becca reverses the TKO! Codebreaker!…Shannon trying to go up top? Becca eats a meteora! Kick out! Shannon comes running but gets caught. Becca with a TKO for the win in a little under five minutes.

Winner: B3CCA

Pedro Dones is here to talk about his contract to call his shot on anyone he wants. Someday, he’ll use it, I guess? He’s got words for Rex Lawless…and he’s going for his KIDNEY?

Match 3: Pedro Dones vs Rex Lawless

Dones does not want to taste Rex’s power and does everything in his power to stay out of his grasp. Dones giving up a huge height advantage but he’s a man of his word and goes right for it, headbutts to the kidney! Top rope splash! Kick out! Dones eats a fallaway but rolls to the floor. Rex holds court in the ring as Pedro struggles to his feet…decides to crawl to the back…he don’t want none.

Winner: Rex Lawless (by countout)

Brother Greatness is out here giving another bible lesson. We clearly like his “secret weapon” more than his scripture. Church of Ana?

Match 4: Anastasia Morningstar (w/ Brother Greatness) vs Jordan Blade

The submission sniper has made the trip up for a Thursday Night Fight in Worcester! They get right into trading heavy shots, Blade trying to kick out the legs. Big back suplex leaves Blade gasping for air in the corner. Ana runs her eyes across the ropes. Blade tries a sunset flip but Anastasia just stuffs it. Blade takes the ankle! Ana caught in the corner, Blade kicks out the knee! Olympic slam! Ana kicks out! Blade goes for the ankle lock…it’s deep but Morningstar crawls to the rope.Ana tries Fade to Black but her ankle gives out! Blade takes the ankle again! Ana gets the rope…she pushes through and rams Blade into the top rope. Jordan is staggered and walks right into Fade to Black for the win. Fun hard hitting Kaiju match here!

Winner: Anastasia Morningstar

It’s World Class o clock. FORMER IWTV CHAMPION (unofficially) Sidney Bakabella is giving the type of promo only he can do. He says Channing Thomas is undefeated…in Beyond Wrestling…so he’s gonna call him MISTER BEYOND WRESTLING. 

Love Doug is out here and Bakabella say they don’t want the match since they already beat him. Doug wants a rematch. Nope. Doug says that if he loses, Bakabella can shave his head….BUT if Love wins? Bakabella has to be his wingman for one night. Sidney wants to shave Love baaaaad. 

Match 5: Channing Thomas (w/ Sidney Bakabella) vs Love Doug

The crowd is very much on Cupid Douglas’ side tonight. Love can’t be bald! Channing eats the buckles after Doug dodges his attempt at a clothesline ambush. Flying forearm!! Channing pulls back Doug on the bulldog and hits a back suplex. Thomas with hard hits and a spine buster and really wants this to be done. Love isn’t dead. Hard back elbow! He tries the rollup, no dice. Superkick! Kick out! Doug tries the rebound lariat but Channing hits a snap powerslam for two. Bakabella trying to coach Channing into a piledriver…Doug locking in a cross face chicken wing…Bakabella with the distract, Channing has the rollup? It’s a visual fall but the ref is otherwise occupied with Sidney. Channing Doug rolls it up! He gets the three! Did Bakabella cost his man the match?!? Channing Thomas is having a terrible couple of months in Worcester! Bakabella is aghast at the idea of being Doug’s wingman!

Winner: Love Doug

Match 6: Tina San Antonio & Kelly Madan vs Tiara James & Layla Luciano

Tina wants to start but Layla realllllllly wants some payback on her for getting DQ’d repeatedly going for her eyes. Tina jumps right out and lets Kelly work instead. Tina gets a few opportunistic double teams in but Layla powers Kelly to her corner. Double atomic drop! Tiara has the wrist but Kelly decks her and this is an opponent Tina is willing to fight. Big slam from Tiara but Kelly runs in to drop an elbow and stops the pin. Ref distracted, Kelly with a knee to an unsuspecting Tiara. Jumping saddle senton! Tina hits a kokeshi headbutt?!? Tiara finally escapes and Layla in! Big twisting slam, she wants the Giant swing! Tiara cuts off Tina’s interference! Kelly getting swung! 20

Rotations and LYla gets the pin. Tina ain’t done though and she blasts Layla with a chair. Tiara saves her from more damage but this is clearly not over with New York’s Finest.

Winners: Layla Luciano & Tiara James

Ray Jaz is back. What the hell does he want. I can hear him kinda? He’s mad that Denver Colorado said he’s not deserving of wrestling in Worcester. Jaz decides to take it out on Rich Palladino?!? Not Rich! TJ Crawford and Fancy Ryan Clancy make the save. Jaz is upset they got in his business so he’s given TJ two weeks to think about what he did…because they have a match then!

Match 7: TJ Crawford (w/ Fancy Ryan Clancy) vs Big Bacon Brad Hollister

Crawford is on fire at the bell and dropping shot after shot in the corner. Crawford caught up in the moment and Bacon Hits a huge lariat. Big German! Crowd trying to get going for TJ but Brad is just merciless. The crowd is all over Bacon but he’s letting it fuel his rage as he grinds TJ down. Crawford fighting back with hard rights! Bacon is staggered! Running dropkick for two! TJ firing up again but Bradley Bacon Bits catches a stunner in the corner and tosses TJ n a spin slam for two. TJ almost goes to sleep in a flurry of punches. He tosses TJ to the floor but Clancy gets in Bacon’s face! Crawford firing back! Slingshot stunner!!! Razor thin two count! TJ swinging from the heart with these chest kicks! Bacon hits a powerbomb as we have one minute left! Bacon isn’t swayed and he pulls TJ up for Another bomb and jackhammers him for the win! He stares down Clancy as the bell rings

Winner: Brad Hollister

It’s Ranch time. I don’t like it. Alec Price doesn’t like it. Stetson likes it. Quit the Ranch! Price isn’t quitting the ranch. Stetson doesn’t like that Price hesitated to get the win last week….he’s paying for ALL of Alec’s grandfather’s medical bills so Alec better step up and do ranch work. 50 Cal can’t be here tonight and Dan Barry needs a new partner. He needs someone….someone pretty sick. It’s our mom!

Match 8: Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson & Alec Price) vs Dan Barry & Bobby Orlando

Stetson doesn’t like Orlando’s penchant for being a cowboy tonight. He stomps Bobby’s hat! Orlando sends Stetson off with his tail between his legs. Dan and Bobby cue the Spelling Chant and they beat the crap out of stetson along to it. Great bit. Stetson battles back and gets a reluctant Alec in to fight our mom. Dan Barry trying to talk sense into Alec but he can’t. Hot tag to Barry and Stetson is getting beat. Steve runs away again and gets Price to take the fire. Stetson intercepts Bobby and tosses Barry to the apron. Alec tries a superplex but Bobby tosses him off! Sick trick to Stetson! Slam to Alec! Dan with the swanton! Kick out! Price tosses Dan into Orlando and he tumbled to the floor. Dan wants the cannonball, Price hits a flip ddt. He’s in position and hits the Suprize kick!!! Stetson with a blind tag and steals the pin. They get the win, Stetson wants to celebrate but Price is FURIOUS at the steal and storms to the back!

Winners: Stetson Ranch

Main Event: Lio Rush vs Kylon King (w/ Dustin Waller) 

Lio queued up for another banger tonight, this time against the other half of Wrestling Open’s tag champs. Lio is just chilling in the corner and letting Kylon work himself into an opportunity. Kylon wants the fight and Lio shows how easily he can get out of the way. Lio swatting at his hair and just treating Kylon with so much disdain and disrespect. Lio’s in his head. Heeeeere we go! Lio du king and weaving and slaps the life out of King. Kylon right in his face and gives it back! Kylon with the catch and body toss! Pop up northern lights for two! Yesssss! Lio to the floor again but Kylon gives chase. Rush with a

Handspring and lawn darts himself into the Kylon and the front row. Absolutely crazy how fast that it. Lio can’t help but get in Dustin Walker’s face while he has a moment. Side slam from Rush and a two count. Rush going to work but Kylon is defiant. Waller is struggling with worry for his partner. Kylon getting backpacked but he slams Lio into the corner. Hard chop and Lio wakes up to lariat his head off. Kylon endures! Huge superplex and Lio is rag dolled as we hit the ten minute mark. Rush tries a rollup! Kylon throwing hands! King sized lariats! Rush tries a handspring but Kylon Germans him!!! Kick out! Rush with a flurry and lariats the back of his head! Slingshot stunner turned Kylon and inside out! Rush getting frustrated as the crowd is still firmly with Kylon. Rush’s reach can’t box with the King and Kylon kicks his head off! Rush comes running into another! Kylon trying a powerslam but Rush leverages it to the apron…slingshot rollup to a low enziguri! Kick out! Let’s go Kylon! We’re past the 15-minute mark. Rush looks like he’s ready for the kill but he opts to roll out and get in Dustin’s face again.  He’s egging Dustin into getting his partner DQ’d. Kylon goes for a moonsault but Lio pulls Dustin into the path…but not enough! Kylon throws him in for the brain bussssstah! Jumping tombstone! What’s the clock at?!? lio kicks out! 2 minutes left! Kylon whiffs a moonsault and Rush counters with a spear out of the corner! Kick out!!!! Crowd is fire with one minute left! Rush looking to finish…big grin….he wants a tombstone?  Kylon reverses and goes for one of his own…Lio reverses and hits a DESTROYER TOMBSTONE OH MY GODDDDD. Lio with the top rope frog splash and gets the pin with ONE SECOND LEFT. Holy hell this was incredible. On par with two weeks again and MAYBE a little bit of an edge on the story told here? Regardless, Miracle Generation has hung with one of the best in the last two week. Hell of a showing. What a damn match! 

Winner: Lio Rush

Dustin Waller back into the ring to check on King, who is so staggered from those final big shot. Lio pushes Dustin off and says Kylon has to get up on his own. King makes it to his feet on his own. Lio swings Kylon to face him, big stare down and Rush offers a hand to both members of Miracle Generation! What a story tonight! 

Denver Colorado is out here to do a drawing with Fancy Ryan Clancy! Did we break the attendance record? It’s pretty crowded tonight! No! It’s to find out who Clancy is fighting at Vanity or Perfection….. he gets…ZACK SABRE  JR?!?!?

But that’s on 2/26. The Thursday Before? Wrestling Open presents their next big event: “Started From The Bottom”!
