Former ECW World Champion Raven returned to MLW at tonight's REELZ taping. We are told he was positioned as something of a spiritual advisor for Ricky Shane Page and AKIRA on camera and behind the scenes, will be working as a producer.
Last night's event at the 2300 Arena was close to, if not a complete sellout.
Gary Juster and Alex Greenfield were working backstage at the taping.
Among those working as Producers were Delirious, Davey Richards, Hugo Savinovich, and Lince Dorado.
Cesar Duran did not appear at the taping as they are doing a kidnapping storyline. Sam Adonis at one point had a sign asking fans to call in tips on his whereabouts.
The original plan for last night's event was former WWF and Memphis Wrestling star Duke "The Dumpster" Drose to appear as the guest referee for the Dumpster Match that headlined the show as an unannounced surprise. He was expected the night before but for some reason, was unable to make the appearance.
Matthew Justice of GCW fame officially debuted. We had reported a few weeks back he was coming in.
John Hennigan has been officially placed with his wife Taya Valkyrie and Sam Adonis as a trio.
The promotion's next events Stateside are 4/6 in NYC at the Melrose Ballroom for War Chamber and 4/8 in Philadelphia back at the 2300 Arena. They will also be taping material next month in Tijuana.
MLW Underground will officially premiere Tuesday on REELZ at 10 PM Eastern, featuring:
*MLW Champion Alexander Hammerstone vs. EJ Nduka - Last Man Standing Match.
*Bomaye Fight Club leader Alex Kane has an open challenge.
*Real1, Davey Boy Smith Jr. and Mance Warner to appear.
*"The mysterious calling card attacks escalate."
Following the episode, REELZ will present a classic MLW broadcast featuring last year's Battle Riot IV.
