WWE NXT will present Vengeance Day this Saturday from Charlotte, North Carolina.
NXT Men's Champion Bron Breakker vs. Grayson Waller in a Steel Cage Match.
Mike: I think this should be Grayson Waller's night. He's been a self-assured, narcissitic blowhard and has gotten under Bron Breakker's skin, but I think NXT should ascend him to the championship level because it'll define him and allow Waller even more credibility and give Bron a really to truly be pissed off and have something to chase. If it's me, new champion crowned.
Richard: Is this a cryptic 'Loser Leaves Town' match where someone moves on to the main roster. If that is the case, I think Bron retains because I think Waller's character is more endearing for the main roster than Bron. Bron will try to do everything possible to destroy Waller, but Waller will frustrate his chances many times. Waller will have things won if he simply walks through the cage door, but he will want to have his 'moment', just like he did at War Games. However, he will miss an elbow drop or splash and that will allow Bron to finish off Waller to retain.
NXT Women's Champion Roxanne Perez vs. Gigi Dolin vs. Jacy Jayne.
Mike: Roxanne Perez showed at the Royal Rumble she's already ready to head to the main roster. She's a very rare generational talent that you just want to cheer and get behind in a legitimate way. That said, I don't see a title change here. I expect the Toxic Attraction members will end up having a meltdown and turn on each other, allowing Perez to score the win.
Richard: I was SHOCKED that Gigi and Jacy were not enemies last week when they suckered Roxanne at the OFFICIAL SUMMIT. Good to see that Roxanne is still pissed at them and their brawl wasn't bad. This will likely be the typical Triple Threat match with Gigi and Jacy alternating working over Roxanne until Roxanne has a moment on the floor and Toxic Attraction turn on each other for a moment to get near falls on each other. The finish will probably be Gigi holding Roxanne and Jacy tries to kick Roxanne but Roxanne moves and Jacy kicks Gigi with Roxanne throwing Jacy to the floor to pin Roxanne.
NXT Men's Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. Pretty Deadly vs. Gallus vs. Chase University
Mike: I don't think there should be a title change here. New Day has been here but Xavier has been banged up, so it's not like they've had much of a chance to really get into the thick of it inside the ring with many of the NXT talents. My gut is Chase University is here to take the pin so Gallus and Pretty Deadly can continue on battling New Day and each other.
Richard: I wish The Grizzled Young Dyad was in this match so New Day could take on Europe in this match, but adding Andre Chase to the match is a plus for the North Carolina crowd because it is a homecoming for Andre. I think that might be enough for him to win the title and then build tension between Duke and Andre, with Thea Hail trying to get them to work together with her overabundance of energy. I can see the other two challengers win the title as well, but I think they are done with Pretty Deadly holding the titles (not a YES BOY moment). Gallus hasn't really done enough in my opinion to justify them winning the titles at this point. Let the tension over the tag titles on both sides of the room reign supreme.
NXT Women's Tag Team Champions Kayden Carter and Katana Chance vs. Kiana James and Fallon Henley
Mike: I hope they give this some time because all four would be well served with time to truly try and bring the crowd into this. I feel like James and Henley are doomed for a split based on everything we've seen and the champs retain, but that doesn't mean we can't have a fun bout.
Richard: Besties versus Strange Bedfellows is the theme of this match. Who was Kiana talking to on Tuesday night when Fallon overheard the call? Was it a boyfriend? Was it a family member? Was it a missed call? Will Fallon be able to trust Kiana because she doesn't want Kiana to hurt Brooks. I have not been sold on Chance and Carter but they do some good tandem moves. I think they need to get us the payoff for the storyline with Brooks. Then on Tuesday night we can have Brooks start off with 'This one time . . . at Vengeance Day . . .' and he has the biggest smile on his face. Bring on Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn for the titles.
NXT North American Champion Wes Lee vs. Dijak.
Mike: I am really looking forward to this, because Dijak can be the guy to really take the fight to Lee and give him something to fight up against from underneath. Should there be a title change? I lean towards no because I feel like Lee is still entrenching his roots with the audience and it might be too soon to curb the momentum, but I wouldn't be shocked to see them flip the title.
Richard: You have a contrast of styles between these two men. DIjak has been on a mission to win the title and impose justice on his opponents. Both men will have to look over their shoulders in case Tony D'Angelo or Channing Lorenzo try to get involved. I think Dijak will try to match Wes on the aerial stuff but it will backfire. Wes should retain but Dijak will have his chances.
Apollo Crews versus Carmelo Hayes in a 2 out of 3 Falls Match
Mike: This is pretty much set up to be the workrate match of the night and I hope that they succeed, but at the end of the day, NXT is about the younger generation. I want to see Hayes break through 2 falls to NONE with a dominant win.
Richard: I would love to see this go 2-0 but since it is wrestling we will go three falls. Hayes should win the first fall without any help from Trick Williams. Crews will find a way to win the second fall after Hayes has a few chances to get the sweep. Hayes' frustration will lead to Trick getting involved to help Hayes get the win. They could also have Trick's interference backfire but I don't see it happening this way. If there is going to be interference, I hope it is at a minimum so it does not tarnish Carmelo's victory.
