Pre-show match: "The Samoan Pearl" Sug White defeated Eddie Vero
Two of WildKat's up and coming students training at the WildKat Sports Wrestling School, the Samoan Pearl debuted in a preliminary match at last summer's WildKat X-Rated Event, while Eddie Vero made appearances during the NWA/WildKat Revolution Rumble tapings, teaming with David Powers against Blunt Force Trauma as we'll as appearing in the Revolution Rumble Match. This night's contest was brief, with Vero putting up a valiant effort but ultimately falling short against the imposing Samoan Pearl. Two young stars of WildKat's future in the making.
Danny Flamingo defeated Chris Steeler
The Chalmation Sensation has been a staple of Wildkat since 2013, and continues to be one of the promotions most popular stars. Continuing a bit of a winning streak uncharacteristic for the Prince of Paris Road, Flamingo has been rolling as of late, defeating Edge Stone at the last WildKat event from River Ridge, and getting another W here against Chris Steeler. Steeler made his return to WildKat after first appearing back in 2018, then in a Triple Threat also involving Danny Flamingo. This time one-on-one, the Warrior Of Wrestling star challenged Flamingo for cockiness, boasting that this "run" of wins for Flamingo was a joke. Steeler promised to make quick work of Flamingo, but after only a couple minutes Flamingo pulled of the shocking quick win! Steeler had tried to pin Flamingo with his feet on the ropes but got caught by the referee, but in a true scenario of "anything you can do, I can do better," Flamingo would doo the same to Steeler, but this one the referee didn't see anything, giving Flamingo the win much to the delight of the Danny partisan crowd! An incensed Steeler was livid after the match while Danny continues his winning ways!
Matt Lancie versus Ryan Davidson ended in a non decision after interference from Chris Steeler
Two big hosses put on what looked to be an absolute slugfest! Both Lancie and Davidson are former WildKat Champions with snake-bitten Reigns. Lancie saw both his title Reigns end in vacancy due to injury, while the majority of Davidson's reign was hindered due to the Louisiana shut down during the Pandemic. Two men that have claim to being the best on the WildKat roster, these two bruisers absolutely pummeled one another in what was an incredibly even matchup before it ended prematurely due to interference from Chris Steeler. Still upset about being embarrassed earlier by Danny Flamingo, Steeler decided to pick a fight and attempt to take some attention back for himself. This would backfire, as Davidson and Lancie quickly saw eye to eye on dispatching Steeler, leading to a match being made for later in the night where Davidson and Lancie would Team to face Steeler and a partner of Steeler's choosing.
Sheeva defeated Killa Kate
Two debuts in one match, the WildKat women's division continues to grow. Killa Kate is actually a native of New Orleans, though now resides outside Dallas Texas. Killa Kate turned alot of heads with her submission based offense, implementing a series of armbars and rear chokes and sleepers onto the larger and more dominant Sheeva. Sheeva, who returned to the business last year, has been dominant throughout Texas, and continued that dominance here, taking out Killa Kate for the win. This was a David vs Goliath match up that definitely impressed, and combined with the excellent outing between Jazmin Allure and Serena Deeb at the previous River Ridge event, WildKat's women's division is seemingly on the rise
PJ Hawx looks to take the Reigns
Luke & PJ Hawx, Hawx Aerie, came out next for a promo segment. PJ acknowledged the success that his father Luke has had of late, notably playing Stone Cold Steve Austin on NBC's Young Rock amongst many other projects. PJ said he requested a one-on-one match tonight because he wants his dad to enjoy the success outside the ring he's been getting. Pj loves tagging with his Dad, but wants Luke to enjoy his new success. Pj went further to speak on behalf the WildKat Lockerroom and say WildKat is in safe hands without him. An emotional Luke Hawx thanked his son and the fans, and while Luke said he'll never be gone, he's willing to take a step back to watch the roster and his son PJ take the reigns. This moment was interrupted by The Bullet Jace Valor, who was looking forward to his match later in the night against PJ, and said may the best man win before Valor and PJ shook hands to end the segment
Slime SZN (J Spade and Buku Dao) retained the WildKat Tag Team Championship against The Cause (Max Bane & Roger Mendez)
"The Cause" Roger Mendez and Max Bane measured up well with the fun-loving tag team champions Slime SZN: Bane and Buku in particular of stature. The tag team Champions brought the fun, including a chicken fight at one point that definitely goes in the record book for novelty to say the least. A well fought effort from the Garden State's "The Cause" but ultimately fell to the champs, who utilized their Season Finale double team finish to retain the championships.
Matt Lancie & Ryan Davidson defeated Chris Steeler & BD Brawley
While Davidson and Lancie were foes earlier in the night, the two worked well as partners in this impromptu Tag Team Match. Just as impressive was the debut of BD Brawley, the imposing Heavyweight chosen to partner with the brash Chris Steeler. The two former WildKat Champions of Lancie and Davidson lit up Steeler, teaching him a lesson for interfering in their business, but Brawley managed to even the odds. An impressive display of power, Brawley more than held his own against the Outlaw and the Grizzled One, which seemed to fluster Steeler who once again wanted the night to be all about him. This miscommunication between Steeler and Brawley would be there demise, resulting in devastation from Davidson and Lancie who picked up the victory and showed these two have great chemistry both as enemies and as partners.
Chuck Devine defeated Rhett Titus to retain the WildKat Sports Revolution Championship
The 2022 Revolution Rumble winner Rhett Titus earned a shot at WildKat Sports Revolution Champion Chuck Devine, much to the chagrin of the champion. Two evenly matched competitors, both attempted to dissect their opponent, with Titus focusing on the left arm of Devine while the champion focused Rhett's midsection. Devine continuously became frustrated with the match, eventually attempting to grab the championship belt and use as a weapon in plain sight of the referee. The Official would intervene, allowing Devine to use a hidden foreign object from his trunks and then pin Titus with his feet on the ropes to retain the championship.
Jace Valor defeated PJ Hawx
Talk about a clinic! This one went back and forth in a true study of mat wrestling and counter wrestling. Jace Valor impressed many, including Luke Hawx at ringside, going hold for hold with the amateur wrestling training PJ Hawx. With the speed of Valor's offense and the waves and waves of suplexes from PJ, it was hard to keep up with the one! An instant classic truly could have gone either way, with a back and forth exchange of pinfall attempts before PJ finally caught Valor for the pin and victory. Valor surely earned Hawx's respect, with the two shaking hands afterwords, and raising one anothers' hand. Hats off to both men, and a huge win to start this new chapter in PJ Hawx's career
Brady Pierce defeats Trevor Murdoch to win the WildKat Sports Heavyweight Championship
Trevor Murdoch promised to punch the pretty face of challenger Brady Pierce right in his perfect jaw, which set the stage for a tense main event between the two NWA Superstars. The reigning Champion Trevor Murdoch seemed poised to dominate the pretty boy Pierce, continually sending Brady to the outside from strikes to the money maker. Picking his moment though, momentum shifted greatly when Pierce struck Murdoch in the groin just when the referee's back was turned. From there on Murdoch fought to get out of the blocks against a relentless Pierce. Trevor would find a second wind, almost putting Brady away with a full nelson slam. With victory at hand, Brady would maneuver out of the way, causing the champion to collide into the referee! With the referee down, Pierce would hit ANOTHER low blow onto Murdoch, and make the cover to steal the pin and capture the victory, making Brady Pierce the NEW WildKat Heavyweight Champion!
A shocking and controversial ending to cap of an incredible memorable way for WildKat Sports to start 2023!
WildKat Sports' next live event comes Friday, March 3rd from Southport Hall in New Orleans as part of their "X-Rated" 21&Over series, with ticket and event details to be released soon
