As I noted this morning, this was seen as a big moment by the promotion and going forward, the REELZ series will be their primary home. This was described to PWInsider.com as being the end of their search for a TV partner. We are told REELZ is very on board with promoting the series and we'll start seeing that on the network this week. There are those working for the network who have seen their previous wrestling-related content do good numbers who are fans and very happy to have MLW added to their channel.
The deal, we are told, was actually done late last year but was kept quiet until REELZ made the official announcement. The promotion had been ramping up on staff, including the additions of Gary Juster and Delirious, among others, in preparation. They have also added more members to the production team and have multiple teams ready to work on MLW content going forward for the MLW Underground and MLW Fusion series.
The MLW Underground series will be exclusive to REELZ and will not be getting YouTube replays. FUSION will remain on BeIn Sport and Pro Wrestling TV before getting a YT replay a week or so later. The plan is to make the two shows completely unique from each other, to the point where there may be talents who only appear on one and not the other.
The promotion will be looking to bring in some new talents as well. PWInsider.com can confirm Matthew Justice will be debuting shortly.
MLW recently announced 1 Called Manders is coming in.
For those who have asked about PPVs now that the promotion has gotten a weekly series, we are told they are taking a "walk before they run" stance but it's something they certainly want to do when the time is right.
