NICK KHAN DISCUSSES VINCE MCMAHON'S RETURN, STEPHANIE'S EXIT, SELLING WWE AND MORE

WWE CEO Nick Khan appeared on today's episode of the Bill Simmons podcast, where he discusses Vince stepping down, his return, his intent on working on strategic alternatives and not the wrestling product, the Saudi Arabia story and more. 

Khan states that he sees no animosity with anyone in the company, and  Vince was happy initially following his retirement as Nick stayed in contact socially, saying that McMahon went on a trip to Italy,  But he and Stephanie knew that Vince would not be gone forever. Regarding George and Michelle returning to the board, Khan stated that Vince wanted people that knew the company to help with the sale process.  Khan states that he sees himself as an outsider in the family business and doesn't get into the family dynamic between Stephanie, Triple H and Vince McMahon. He says he is not want to be a pot stirrer. But one that simmers the pot. Khan talks about Triple H health problems, saying how scary it was.

Khan talks about Stephanie's job as CEO coming soon after her planned sabbatical from the company. Nick states that Vince's priority is to explore strategic alternatives and nothing else with WWE, the board, Triple H and Khan. He states that guys like Vince have trouble falling the rules of a publicly traded company and the SEC talking about the process of a sale. He says Stephanie is done in the company for now. When Bill Simmons asked about Shane, Nick states, working with family is complicated. In regards to the rumors that Vince and Triple H don't get along, he says, everybody works together well. When talking about Vince not being forthright with the allegations, Nick says that the media side of things is not Vince's favorite thing.

Simmons asks if there were any plans to have Vince appear on camera in any storylines, Nick Khan states not at this time. On why Vince wants to sell, Nick Khan says he's ready. The plan is to sell the company and then have the new owner negotiate new media rights in 2024. He says that they may not sell the whole company, it depends on what is best for the business. In regards to lawsuits against Vince, the company is still moving forward with their plans.

Nick Khan talks about how nice Vince is, that the public really doesn't get to see. Bill Simmons talks about working with Vince and how he wants to be perfect, especially around the Andre documentary.

Nick Khan is asked about AEW and says he doesn't see the company as a threat, he says you have to put blinders on and worry about your business. He likes Shad Khan and the business moves he's made with the Jaguars. He says it's easy to run opposition when someone else is financing. He talks about the Royal Rumble success this year. When asked whether Rock is coming in for WrestleMania, Nick stated he couldn't confirm or deny. He promotes WrestleMania 39 in LA.
