A CELEBRATION OF DON WEST'S LIFE SET FOR THIS MAY, HOW YOU CAN HELP CELEBRATE HIS LEGACY

By Mike Johnson on 2023-01-17 11:28:00

A celebration of Don West's life is scheduled to take place on Saturday 5/20 at 1 PM local time at the Town Toyota Center (1300 Walla Walla Avenue) in Wenatchee, WA, it has been announced.

West, one of the nicest, most genuine people you could ever hope to meet in life, passed away on 12/30 following a long and hard battle against brain cancer.  Don was only 59 years old.

A website celebrating Don's life is now online at this link, allowing everyone to leave their memories of Don and sent well wishes to his wife and the West family.

During his time in the professional wrestling world, Don was an extremely popular part of TNA as an announcer, manager and heading up TNA's merchandise side from 2002 through 2012, when he made the decision to exit the company to take a position as the General Manager of the Wenatchee Wild hockey team in Wenatchee, Washington. He and Mike were very much the defining voices of what is now Impact Wrestling.

In recent years, West had popped up occasionally in pro wrestling at Starrcast events and had been doing radio on KPQ 560 in Washington.  West took a hiatus from his broadcasting duties to focus on his health after a recurrence of his brain cancer.  KPQ posted an amazing remembrance of Don at this link.

Don first became known nationally as a pitchman for Shop at Home, where he became so popular Will Ferrell played him on sketches on NBC's Saturday Night Live.

Don was one of the truly great people in life.  On behalf of PWInsider.com, we continue to send our deepest sympathies to his family, friends and fans.
