New Year's Dash From Ota City, Tokyo Japan:
1 - Tomoaki Honma, Tiger Mask and Ren Narita vs. Yujiro Takahashi, Dick Togo and EVIL
House of Torture shenanigans. Yujiro hits Honma with his Pimp Stick and then hits Tiger Mask. EVIL and Togo hit a Magic Killer on Honma
EVIL pins Honma.
After the match, the heels stomp on Narita. Minoru Suzuki comes to the ring in street clothes. He attacks House of Torture. SHO comes to attack Suzuki and they all stomp on him. El Desperado hits the ring and tosses SHO to the floor. Narita, Suzuki and Desperado chase them from the ring.
Suzuki and Desperado fist bump each other and leave Narita wondering what happened.
I believe this is a new faction led by Suzuki to challenge House of Torture for the NEVER Openweight 6-man Titles.
Taichi comes to the ring singing. TAKA Michinoku comes to the ring in a suit. DOUKI and Yoshinobu Kanemaru come the ring.
TAKA takes the mic and says they will make big changes in 2023. There are no bosses, no leaders, just four guys.
Will Ospreay and Catch 22 come to the ring. Crowd applauds Ospreay for his performance at the Tokyo Dome.
2 - Taichi, Yoshinobu Kanemaru and DOUKI vs. Will Ospreay, Francesco Akira and TJP
Ospreay looks angry and despondent at the same time. He is not his arrogant self.
Ospreay took out is frustration on Kanemaru. Taichi tags in and they trade blows. Akira and DOUKI tag in.
DOUKI pins Akira with a Jorge Rivera Special.
Another big win for DOUKI and Kanemaru. They beat Catch 22 during the Super Junior Tag League and they have beaten them again. They should be the next challengers for the IWGP Jr Tag Belts.
TJP and Akira attack DOUKI after the match. Ospreay kicks TAKA in the groin. Ospreay talks trash to Taichi and they start brawling at ringside.
If TaIchi and Ospreay are going to feud, that should be a fun series.
Zack Sabre Jr’s music plays and Team TMDK come to the ring.
3 - Zack Sabre Jr, Shane Haste and Mikey Nichols vs. Tomohiro Ishii, Hirooki Goto and YOSHI-HASHI
TMDK hit a Tank Buster on YOSHI-HASHI
Nichols pins YOSHI-HASHI
Nichols and Haste are the new number one contenders to the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship.
Ishii has words with ZSJ. Ishii may be the next contender for Zack’s World Television Title.
After the match, TMDK said they wanted a 4th member. Zack picked Kosei Fujita who was working ringside. They put a TMDK shirt on Fujita and they went back to the locker room.
Not sure if this was a rib or a real angle. But interesting.
4 - YOH, Ryusuke Taguchi, Togi Makabe and Shota Umino vs. BUSHI, Hiromu Takahashi, SANADA and Tetsuya Naito
YOH pins Hiromu after a Direct Driver.
YOH is the top contender for the Jr Heavyweight Championship. YOH takes the mic and challenges Hiromu to a title match.
5 - El Phantasmo, Taiji Ishimori, KENTA and Jay White, with Gedo vs. Master Wato, Hiroshi Tanahashi, Hikuleo and Tama Tonga, with Jado
Gedo tried to hit Tama with NEVER belt. Tama hits a Gun Stun on Gedo. El Phantasmo hits Tama in the head with the belt. The referee calls for the bell.
Phantasmo is disqualified.
After match, KENTA hits Tanahashi with the NEVER belt. Jay White beats Hikuleo with a chair. Jay cuts a promo on Hikuleo and challenges him to a Loser Leaves Japan Match.
6 - KOPW 2023 Provisional Title Match: SHO vs. Toru Yano vs. Great O-Khan vs. Shingo Takagi
Takagi pins Yano with Last of the Dragon.
Takagi wins the KOPW title belt.
7 - Jeff Cobb and Aaron Henare vs. Kenny Omega and Kazuchika Okada
Okada pins Henare with a Rainmaker.
Solid match. Omega and Okada were a good team.
After the match, Okada thanks Omega for coming. Shingo Takagi comes to the ring and repeats his challenge. Okada accepts the match.
