COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE COVERAGE

It's Wednesday Night! And that means AEW is LIVE for the start of 2023 from Seattle, Washington. Excalibur, Taz and Tony Schiavone are on the call and we've got a big night of action. Two big championship matches are on the docket tonight.

Chris Jericho w. Angelo Parker & Matt Menard vs. Ricky Starks

Jericho flips off the crowd.  Lockup, takedown by Jericho. Lockup, arm twist by Jericho into a tackle by Starks, They trade slaps and Starks pounds Jericho on the corner. Jericho bails but gets tossed into the steps. Jeicho kicks him as they return to the ring. Jericho pounds him in the corner and tosses him to the opposite corner. Clothesline by Jericho. Starks catches him with a forearm off the top into a clothesline for 2.  Chops by Starks. Parker distracts Starks and Jericho clotheslines him to the apron. Starks blocks an axehandle. Thumb to the eye by Jericho and Le Champion suplexes Starks to the floor as we go to commercial.

As we return, Jericho poses to the crowd.  Punches by JEricho.  Chop by Jericho, clothesline by Starks, both are down.  They get to their feet and slug it out. Dropkick by Starks. Jericho blocks Rochambeau but Starks hits a Liger bomb for 2. Double chop by JEricho, he goes for the Lionsault but Starks gets the knees up. Starks blocks a code breaker for 2. Jericho avoids a splash and hits a code breaker. Starks blocks a Judas Effect. Jericho applies the Walls. Jericho drags him back. Menard tries to interfere. As referee Aubrey Edwards blocks him, Parker nails him with Floyd the Bat. Starks survives and upkicks Jericho. Small package for 2 by Starks. DDT by Starks. Spear by Starks for the pin.

WINNER RICKY STARKS

The rest of the JAS come out and attack Starks. Action Andretti comes out with a chair and fight off the Appreciators. Ana Jay and Tay Melo with a low blow.  Now the JAS stomp down on Andretti. Jericho pounds Andretti with a chair and a table gets set up. Hager power bombs Starks through the table to the outside.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring. Hangman Adam Page comes out.  BTW props to Seattle, this crowd is on absolute fire so far. Page wants to say he's good to go, but he is not yet medically cleared to compete. Page says he has a brain scan before next week.  If he's cleared, he's good to go.  Here comes Moxley. He's surprised Page showed up. He's sick of the ongoing vigil for Page.  Something goes wrong with the mic. Moxley drops not 1 but 2 f bombs.  He's sick and tired of Page playing the injury card. Page tells him he's not mad about being knocked out. What he's mad about was Moxley joking about his injury. He says Moxley felt threatened.  Moxley tells Page that he's a joke for thinking next time will be different.

AEW World Tag Team Title: The Acclaimed w/Billy Gunn vs. Jeff Jarrett & Jay Lethal w/Sonjay Dutt & Satnum Singh

Caster gets real personal in the opening rap. Lethal and Bowens lead off, Jarrett immediately come sin and slaps Caster. Bowens with a chop and stomps the Last Outlaw in the corner. Lethal tags in. Bowens with a kick and a guillotine leg drop. Caster tags in and forearms Lethal. Takedown by Caster and he poses in front of Jarrett. Caster with an ankle lock and a slam. Bowens tags in and hits scissor me timbers. Jarrett tries to make the save and his scissors get timbered as well. The Acclaimed mock Jarrett's strut and scissor. Lethal slaps Gunn and Gunn goes after Lethal. The ref ejects Gunn as we go to commercial.

As we return, Jarrett pounds away at Bowens in his corner. Lethal tags in and nails a rear chinlock.  Bowens gets to his feet but gets slammed. Lethal misses an elbow off the top. Jarrett tags in and shuts down the Acclaimed tag. Back suplex by Bowens.  Lethal and Caster tag in. Caster has the challengers on the run. Kick to Jarrett and a dive to the floor by Caster. Cross body for 2 by Caster. Caster and Jarrett brawl. Dropkick to Lethal. Caster tags in but gets tossed off the top by Jarrett. Lethal scores a two on Bowens. Lethal with a figure 4. Singh throws Caster into the steps. Singh gets ejected and we have our 3tf f bomb of the night. Jarrett lands the stroke of Caster and scores the pin. Dutt throws Bowens' leg off the rope.

Aubrey Edwards tells the referee what happened and the match is ordered to restart. Bowens throws the challengers into each other. Bowens rolls up Lethal for the pin.

WINNERS & STILL AEW CHAMPIONS THE ACCLAIMED

Tony is with Jamie Hayter and Dr. Britt Baker, ahead of next week's match with Saraya and her mystery partner.

Jungle Boy Jack Perry has some words for the Firm.  He and Hook will be in Los Angeles next week.

Bryan Danielson vs. Tony Nese w/Mark Sterling & Josh Woods

Seattle loves their hometown boy. Nese attacks with a top rope clothes line. Running knee for 2 by Nese. Nese with ground and pound. Chops by Nese, Danielson with chops and kicks of his own. Running elbow by Danielson. Round kicks by Danielson. Nese blocks the last kick and power bombs him into the buckle. Nese misses a charge. Busaiku Knee by Danielson into head stomps. Nese has lost consciousness and the ref calls for the bell

WINNER BRYAN DANIELSON

Danielson wants another fight and MJF comes out. He addresses "Brain Damaged Bryan" and tells him he's not getting his fight tonight. He mocks Danielson's charisma and looks. Danielson makes fun of MJF's mother's alleged promiscuity.  Most of Seattle has apparently spent time with her.  MJF puts over Jim Cornette, Eric Bischoff and Disco Inferno (that was pretty darn funny). MJF says he's trying to help Danielson. He tells Danielson he needs to become #1 contender to get a shot. Tony Khan apparently says he has to win matches every week until Feb 8th to get a Revolution PPV Title Shot. MJF says it's his way or no way. Danielson agrees if MJF agrees to certain stipulations for the title match, a 1 hour Iron Man match. MJF says it's on!  Danielson vows to expose MJF as the fraud he is.

Swerve Strickland w/Mogul Affiliates vs. AR Fox

Forearm by Fox. Fox with a right hand and Swerve blocks a fireman carry. They both tumble off the top rope and stare each other down on the floor. Kick by Fox and a running moonsault on the floor.  Back in the ring it's a corkscrew brainbuster for 2. Clothesline by Fox. Tattoo'd face guy punches Fax while the ref is distracted. We go to commercial.

As we return, Swerve, Swerve with shots to the back and a kick. They trade kicks. Enziguiri by Fox. Swerve counters a cutter with a German and a flatliner for 2. Fox with a rollup and a low cutter. Fox nails a full cutter and a 450 for 2. Swerve elbows out of a fireman. Boudreaux hands Swerve some weapon as Tattoo Guy distracts the rep. Death Valley Driver by Swerve into a double stomp for the pin.

WINNER SWERVE STRICKLAND

Renee Paquette is with Saraya, Toni Storm and Hikaru Shida. Renee wants to who the partner is. Saraya picks Toni. Shida does not look happy

The Gunn Club come out for a funeral for FTR. Austin reads a prepared speech and make fun of them not winning the AEW Titles. Colton makes fun of them losing all their tag team titles. We get a moment of silence.  FTR music hits but it was a ploy by the Gunns.  They make fun of the fans.

We get a preview of match 7 of the best of 7 for the trios title.

Skye Blue & Kiera Hogan vs. Jade Cargill & Red Velvet

Velvet and Blue lock up. Rollup reversals, pretty rapid fire. Hogan tags in and hits a legdrop for 2. Blue tags back in and nails a DDT. Jade is not happy with Velvet's performance as we go to commercial.

As we return, Jade hits Kiera with eye of the storm for 2. Jade tags in Velvet very disrespectfully. Kiera with a charge and a sliding dropkick. Velvet blocks a suplex and Hogan nails it. Jade tags in and she takes out the opposition with side kicks. Jade nails Hogan with a choke slam. Velvet refuses to tag in but it doesn't matter. Jade with a pump kick to Hogan and scores the pin.

WINNERS JADE CARGILL & RED VELVET

Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal will have a rematch against the Acclaimed Friday in a No DQ match

TNT Championship: Samoa Joe vs. Darby Allin

Allin with a tope suicida as Joe attacks Allin's trainer's son, Nick Wayne. They fight on the ramp and Darby nails him with a skateboard. Allin with a ladder. He goes to the top and nails a senton onto Joe. Darby comes up limping.  Bell rings and we're offically underway. Dropkick by Allin, Joe spikes him on the steps as we go to commercial.

As we return, Joe is stomping a mudhole into Allin. Side kicks by Joe. Back chop by Joe. Jow misses an elbow and Allin goes for a choke. Joe falls backwards and leg sweeps Darby. Darby fights back but Joe with a double kneebreaker. Kick by Joe and nails a senton on Darby's knees. Joe scores a 2. Half crab by Joe, Darby makes the rope. Joe sets Darby up for a muscle buster but Darby escapes. Joe with a choke and Allin rolls him up for 2. Joe slaps another choke on. Darby is fighting it and runs Joe into the exposes turn buckle. Code Red and a 2 coffin drops and Allin scores the pin.

WINNER AND NEW TNT CHAMPION DARBY ALLIN

The new (2X) champion celebrates with Sting as we go to credits.
