With all these new returns/signings, there's going to have to be WWE releases at some point, right? They still have to run under a budget right?
At some point, releases are inevitable. There have been a LOT of returns and like any other company with a huge roster, there will be some who end up unable to be correctly utilized and eventually, timing and creative works against them and they will exit. No gig is forever. I haven't heard of anything on the horizon, but it's just the way things ebb and flow. That said, let's remember that right now WWE is doing great financially, so they can weather whatever budget restraints they currently have as long as Paul Levesque, Nick Khan and Stephanie McMahon want the company to do so. Under Kristina Salen, the departed CFO, they were far more likely to slash costs immediately we are told if they didn't like how things were going in the short-term, compared to now under Frank Riddick III, who is now in that position. They have the cushion and wiggle room.
Over the years, you've mentioned a wrestling play that takes place at different cities but never plays where I am (Idaho). Is there a chance I can watch a video or read it?
I believe you are talking about the excellent play The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Deity. You can order the play on Amazon at this link. I don't believe the play has ever been professionally filmed in any of its stagings.
Who are the Producers in Impact Wrestling right now? I think the show has been super underrated, so I was wondering.
Jimmy Jacobs, Lance Storm, Gail Kim, Tommy Dreamer, Deaner, Rhino, Chris Sabin, Delirious, Josh Matthews and RD Evans are all working there in different roles as producers currently.
Where did Yuya Uemura come from? He's awesome.
Uemura was trained in the New Japan dojo and debuted in 2018 after a strong collegiate wrestling career. He's currently in the United States to get additional experience. I enjoy his matches a lot and his match against Mike Bailey on Impact Wrestling on AXS recently was just tremendously fun.
I saw The Velveteen Dream was arrested AGAIN? What's up with that video?
That arrest was from the incident over the summer. As a refresher on the incident, the charges were later dropped. As to whether that was because he wasn't read his Miranda Rights, I don't know.
I was curious who your favorite writers are?
My favorite writers growing up were Kurt Vonnegut and A.C. Crispin, who sadly are no longer with us. The one person today who I tell everyone to follow and read, whether it be his Substack, his books or his Hollywood Reporter pieces is Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who I think is an incredibly thought-provoking writer.
