JORDYNNE & MICKIE VS. TASHA & SAVANNAH, WHEN BULLY ATTACKS & MORE: IMPACT WRESTLING ON AXS TV REPORT

By Mike Johnson on 2022-12-22 22:00:00

Impact Wrestling on AXS TV opened with highlights of the last several weeks.

Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Champions The Death Dollz with Taya Valkyrie vs. Gisele Shaw & Deonna Purrazzo with Jai Vidal

Jessicka started out with Deonna.  They locked up with Deonna working over her arm, but Jessicka soon reversed.  Deonna rolled out and showboated to the audience.  Jessicka blocked a waistlock takedown and sent Deonna to the mat instead.   Rosemary and Gisele tag in.  Rosemary is cut off and double-teamed by the  challengers.  Deonna nailed a lariat for a two count.  Gisele and Deonna tag in and out, continuing to keep Rosemary at bay.  Gisele nailed a pair of knees to the mid-section on Rosemary, who was hung up in the buckles for another two count.  Deonna locked on a side chinlock, trying to wear down Rosemary. Rosemary fought back with a series of elbows to the mid-section and caught her with a Head and Arms Tazplex.  Jessicka gets the hot tag and cleans house with a series of kicks and a powerslam on Shaw.  Jessicka hits a cross bodyblock on Gisele but Deonna broke up the pinfall attempt. Everyone battled.  The challengers were sent into each other.  Deonna was tossed out.  Shaw was double-teamed and pinned.

Your winners, The Death Dollz!

Backstage, Mickie James told Jordynne Grace they have a match tonight but to leave Tasha Steelz for her.  She said she knows Jordynne doesn't think she can beat her but she will.  Grace said that if she wants to beat Tasha Steelz, that's fine but Grace is there to make sure Mickie makes it to Hard to Kill so they can face each other.  Mickie says she will see her out there.

Backstage, Gisele Shaw and Deonna Purrazzo look at each other, pretty much making it clear their alliance is done, by saying they will never team again.

Sami Callihan comes to the ring for a promo.  He thought when he took out Eric Young, the problem was done, but since he cut off the head of the snake, three more rose in its place.  He keeps getting his ass beat and he's sick of it.  He's never been one to run from his issues and calls out The Design.  Deaner says that Sami keeps putting himself out there but the people don't care about him and never ever will.  Until he realizes that, the sickness will run through his body.  Deaner offers the antitode to the sickness - violence.  They surround the ring but Sami said he's not here to fight.  Deaner said they don't do truces.  Sami said he's not here for a truce, he wants to join The Design.   Angels said Callihan is not the man he used to be and will never be one of the chosen few.   Sami wants an answer from Deaner but they attack Callihan and beat him down.

Tommy Dreamer tries to approach Josh Alexander backstage.  Josh says that he heard what Dreamer said to Bully Ray last week and says that he never thought Dreamer was purposely trying to lead him down the wrong path but at the same time, Dreamer has tons of baggage and Alexander doesn't need that weighing him down as well.  He said the only thing he loves more than being World Champion is his family and now both of those have been dragged into this situation with Bully.  He said if Dreamer wants forgiveness fine, but leave him alone so Alexander can handle the situation with Bully.  Josh walks off and Dreamer isn't happy about any of it.

We see highlights of Chris Bey and Ace Austin's excellent adventures in the ring in New Japan Pro Wrestling.

Speedball Mike Bailey vs. Yuya Uemura.

Some solid back and forth wrestling here.  Bailey locks on a single Boston Crab.  Yuya makes it to the ropes to break the submission.   Bailey chopped Yuya hard and drilled him with a kick to the chest.  Yuya fired back and they slugged it out with forearms.  Bailey missed a kick and was caught with a leaping clothesline.

Yuya charged with a crossbody in the corner and nailed a bulldog for a two count.  He went for a Saito suplex but it was blocked.  They battled back and forth with chops.  Yuya nailed a dropkick and a belly to back suplex for another two count.  Yuya nailed a running clothesline, sending Bailey over the top to the floor as they went to commercial.  When they returned, Yuya nailed a big powerslam for a two count.  Bailey fired back with a series of hard kicks to the chest.

Yuya was knocked to the floor, where Bailey hit a BIG moonsault to the floor.  He set Yuya back in the ring and lit him up with a series of kicks and a flip into a knee strike to the ribs for a two count.  Yuya caught Bailey coming in for a kick in the corner.  They battled with hard strikes.  Yuya nailed a suplex.  They fought to their feet, battling back and forth with kicks, strikes and punches.  Yuya nailed a big clothesline for a two count.  Really damn good back and forth match.

Yuya nailed a running dropkick in the corner and went to the top, but Bailey rolled to the floor.  Yuya hit a bodypress to the outside and tossed him back in.  Yuya ascended to the top for a bodypress but Bailey scored with knees to the ribs.  The battle continued.  Bailey missed his spinning kicks in the corner and was nailed with a German suplex.  Bailey rebounded and drilled Yuya, then hit Ultima Weapon for the pin.

Hell of a bout!

Your winner, Mike Bailey!

Kenny King appears on the video screen, saying he was in Mexico City.  He told Bailey he doesn't deserve to be in the ring with him, so keep himself in Florida.  He promised he would see him never.

The Impact+ flashback was Hulk Hogan's debut.

Backstage, The Major Players approach Scott D'Amore's offce but so so Heath Miller and Rhino.   They each want shots at the Motor City Machine Guns and the Tag Team titles.  The Guns are already there and announce they will defend the titles in a Four Way at Hard to Kill.  The Players protests but the Guns say if anyone should be upset, it should be the champs since it's elimination rules.  Cardona complains more so Chris Sabin offers to face him in the ring next week.  I think they mean in two weeks!

Swinger & Zicky Dice vs. John Skyler & Jason Hotch.

The match never takes place.  As Swinger and Dice are coming out, the music changes to Bully Ray's theme and they realize what's up and exit.  Bully hits the ring and attacks Skyler, throwing him out to the floor.  He attacks Hotch and then zip ties him to the ropes.  He threatens Hotch, then calls out Josh Alexander, saying that he loves his wife's OnlyFans account,  Scott D'Amore told them they aren't supposed to fight before Hard to Kill, but is Josh going to listen to that or save the career that Bully is about to destroy before it ever happened.  He tells Hotch that Josh could save him, but he's not here. He tells Hotch to beg.  Hotch said he has nothing to do with any of this. Alexander hits the ring and runs off Bully.

Josh checks on Hotch, but is grabbed by Hotch, then Skyler takes out his legs - IT WAS A RUSE.  Bully smashes Alexander with a chain and tells him he's a sucker.  He zipties Josh to the ropes and teases beating him down with a chair.  Tommy Dreamer hits the ring for the save, but he is overwhelmed and hit with a low blow.  He is laid out with a piledriver as Josh can't do anything to help.   Bully calls for a table, but then asks for a ladder.  Skyler and Hotch assist him and Bully smashes Dreamer with the ladder.  Bully does a Conchairto with the ladder.  He tells Alexander to tell his wife Bully says hello.

Backstage, we are told Dreamer is on the way to the hospital.  Josh Alexander said he was hard on Dreamer the last time they spoke and what happened is on him.  Scott told Josh that Dreamer made his choices and did what he thought was right.  It's not on him.  Josh said he's trying to play by the rules but Bully Ray doesn't play by any rules.  He's challenging him to a Full Metal Mayhem match at the PPV to embarass him at what Bully is known for.  Scott agrees and said they've spent a year trying to keep Josh's emotions in check but now he has the chance to get in the mindset to deal with this.  He orders that Ray and Alexander are staying home until the PPV.

Steve Maclin vs. Rich Swann

Some great intensity from Maclin early as he attacked Swann and beat him down with stomps and hard chops.  Swann came back with a big dropkick and several chops.  Swann was cut off and hit with a backbreaker.  Swann was whipped hard into the buckles.  Swann was worked over for a long time but fought back and went for a sunset flip.  Maclin tried to hold on but was kicked in the face.  Swann went after him but was caught with a big Uranage for a two count, but Maclin pulled him off the mat.  The idea was he just wanted to punish Swann.  Maclin whipped him hard into the buckles.  Swann fired back and nailed some big kicks but only scored a one count.  Swann took him down and went to the top, going for the Phoenix splash.  Maclin rolled to the floor, so Swann nailed a flip off the apron to the floor.  Swann went for another but Maclin dodged it and Swann crashed hard into the floor.  Swann was sent into the ring steps.  Maclin smashed him into the ramp, ignoring the referee's count.

Double countout.

The referee tried to stop Maclin but was nailed and screamed at.  Security tried to stop him but again, Maclin nailed him.  They were held apart.  Swann dove onto the pile and they kept fighting until they were held apart, screaming at each other.

Backstage, Eddie Edwards cutting a promo.  He questions why the past keeps coming back to haunt him, when all he did was stand up and do what was righteous.  Alisha showed up and said that he hurt a lot of people, including her.  Edwards tells her not to lecture him.  She says she's here to say she supports him and he has to put everything behind him.  He can't do that by ignoring the past.  He faced Delirious and now he faces Gresham at the PPV.  Eddie said he will do that.  He buried PCO, never to be seen again.  He beat Delirious and now he'll take out Gresham on Friday the 13th.

Mickie James & Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace vs. Tasha Steelz & Savannah Evans.

Tasha and Mickie went nose to nose to start.  They locked up and went back and forth in a collar and elbow.  Tasha caught her with a knee but was hit with a Thesz Press when coming off the ropes.  Grace tagged in, so Tasha backed off and tagged Savannah Evans.  They locked up and Grace was backed into the corner.  Grace went for a sleeper but was tossed off.  Tasha tagged in and stomped away on the champ in the corner.  Mickie tagged in and nailed a flapjack.  James went to the top but was shoved off by Evans.  Tasha covered her for a close two count.  James fought her way out of a side chinlock.  Tasha and Evans tagged in and out, beating down James.  Steelz cinched in a rear chinlock.  James fought back and nailed a rana off the buckles, but was cut off.  James fired back with a neckbreaker.  The story was that James was physically spent.  Evans knocked Grace off the apron before Mickie had the chance to tag out, although they teased Mickie was having doubts about tagging out.  Evans manhandled James and sent her into the corner.  Evans missed a charge in the corner, hitting her shoulder on the ring post.  James nailed a seated senton for a two count but Steelz broke it up.  Evans and Steelz worked over James.  Grace finally tagged herself in and hit a Muscle Buster on Steelz, scoring the pin.

Your winners, Mickie James and Jordynne Grace!

Mickie isn't happy Jordynne was helping her and Grace tells her she will get a chance to show her what she's got at Hard to Kill.  The idea was James was willing to fight to the end, even if it meant she lost to Steelz and would have to retire.  James finally hot the Mick Kick and walked out, leaving an angry Grace in the ring.

That's it for this week!
