(PHILADELPHIA) — Major League Wrestling today announced a Women’s World Featherweight Championship: Taya Valkyrie vs. Zoey Skye at MLW Blood & Thunder on Saturday, January 7 at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. A championship bout has been inked for January 7th as the reigning Women’s World Featherweight Champion Taya Valkyrie will make her third defense as the inaugural champion. One of the most dominant luchadoras of the last decade, the Canadian-born Valkyrie is on a conquest to cement her legacy as the best of her generation. Standing in the way is the latest threat to Valkyrie’s World Featherweight Championship: Zoey Skye.
Skye, a decorated athlete, is a technical threat who leverages her size to create a lethal, compact fighting style, often throwing off larger adversaries.
Standing just 5’ and weighing 99 lbs., Skye is the smallest female athlete in the division, but next to the champ, the most experienced.
