WOW – Women of Wrestling aired over the weekend. Our commentary team is David McLane, Steven Dickey, and AJ Mendez.
This week’s episode is titled: Superheroes vs Villains
Coach Campanelli and Randi Rah Rah vs Gigi Gianni and Adriana Gambino
Gambino doesn’t come out with Gianni. Exile comes out after we don’t see Gambino, Exile is a three woman group consisting of Exodus, Malia Hosaka, and Genesis. They invade the ring and Hosaka said that they are part of the past and they deserve to be honored. They tell Gianni she doesn’t have a partner and Genesis and Exodus take her out.
Coach Campanelli and Randi Rah Rah vs Genesis and Exodus
Coach starts off with Genesis. Coach gets an arm bar take down and Genesis pops right back up. Genesis gets an arm bar and Coach gets a leg sweep and a two count. Randi tags in and gets a pair of leg sweeps. Exodus is tagged in and Randi gets a bulldog on her for a two count. Coach is tagged back in and Coach grabs a kick from Exodus and turns it into a Dragon Screw. Randi is tagged in and drops kicks Exodus back to her corner where she regroups.
Exodus calls for the greco roman knuckle lock and when Randi uses it for a monkey flip. The ref is distracted by Genesis, but Coach uses it to get a Russian Leg Sweep on Exodus. Randi gets a standing moonsault for a cover, but the ref doesn’t notice in time, and it's only a two count. Genesis tags in and they keep Randi in their corner. When the ref is distracted, Malia chokes Randi on the ropes. All of Exile work over Randi with the ref distracted.
Exodus gets a pair of leg drops, but Randi rolls out of the way of the third. Exodus tosses Randi into her corner. Genesis comes in for a double bulldog as the ref is distracted, and Exodus mounts Randi and slams her head into the mat. Randi is then drops on the second rope and they keep working her over. They run the ropes and a double clothesline drops them both. Both women struggle to tag.
Coach and Genesis are tagged in and Coach gets a double DDT and covers for two. Coach gets a swinging neck breaker for two. Genesis is taken to Coach's corner and where Randi is tagged in. As the ref is distracted Malia gets a TKO and a Genesis covers Randi for the pin and the win.
Winners: Exile
We get Penelope Pink, Miami Sweet Heat and Lana Starr celebrating their win for the tag team titles last week, and there is a 5th person there that Lana says no one sees coming.
Vickie Lynn McCoy with Lana Starr vs Chantilly Chella
Vickie is able to shove Chella back, but Chella fights back with a pair of arm drags. Chella gets a crucifix pin for a two count. Chella whips Vickie into the corner and charges into her, going up and over. When she lands, Starr grabs her leg, dropping Chella face first on the apron. Starr tosses her back in the ring and Vickie goes after Chella, Chella is able to get a drop-kick off the ropes, but Vickie brushes it off and starts back to work.
Vickie locks in a Camel Clutch and then shoves her face-first into the mat. Chella escapes a second Camel Clutch. Chella gets in kicks and goes to the top for a shotgun drop-kick for a two count. Vickie is able to get up and toss Chella down. Vickie hits a spinning power bomb for the pin and the win.
Winner: Vickie Lynn McCoy
Lana tells the fans to cheer and she will introduce every member of her family. She then brings boxes with jackets for every member of her team, and they all say “The Fabulous 4.”
In the locket room, Jessie Jones found that Savanna Smart never filed paperwork to be in the tag team tournament. Smart says that she was sick of being around her. Jessie has gone pure babyface with USA rah rah type promos. Jessie says they have a match later tonight.
Jessie Jones vs The Disciplinarian
Disciplinarian attacks immediately, but Jessie is able to take over with a Thesz Press and other take-downs. Smart jumps on the apron and Disciplinarian tosses her out of the ring. Smart attacks Jessie on the floor as the ref is distracted. Jessie is tossed back into the ring. Disciplinarian slams her down and picks her up for a suplex, but Jessie blocks it. Disciplinarian gets a cutter for a two count.
Jessie is able to fight out of an unorthodox headlock and then get a drop toe hold. She then hits a series of short arm shoulder blocks. She tries for an arm bar, but Disciplinarian is able to fight out of it and put Jessie in a fireman’s carry. Jessie escapes and hits a face buster into an arm bar. Smart comes in and attacks Jessie causing a DQ.
Winner via DQ: Jessie Jones
Jones is able to lock Smart in the arm bar, but Ice Cold runs to the ring to break it up an attack Jessie. It’s a three on one attack and Sahara Spars and Americana come to the ring to run them off. Jessie grabs a mic and calls for a match for her team against Smart’s team.
We get a pre-tape of WOW Women’s Champion Beast in David’s office and she is healed.
Leia Makoa vs Wrecking Ball
They lock up collar and elbow and Leia turns Ball’s momentum against her and puts her in the corner. She grabs an arm bar and Ball is able to reverse it. Leia gets a pair of arm drags and then locks on another arm bar. Leia turns the arm bar into a crucifix and gets a two count. Leia grabs a headlock and shoves down Ball again.
Ball is able to get a pair of kicks as Leia runs the ropes. She works over Leia in the corner. Ball covers for a one count. She gets a chin lock on Leia. Leia fights to her feet and nails Ball with blows. Ball gets a back breaker and holds Leia on her leg. She tosses Leia to the mat and tosses Leia into the corner while holding a full nelson. When they go to a second corner, Ball slams Leia’s head into the turnbuckle. But, as Leia is Samoan, that does no good and Leia slams her own head into the turnbuckle.
She comes out with headbutts on Ball. After whipping her into the ropes, Leia drops Ball with a chop. Leia gets a drop-kick and then a super kick for a two count. Ball fights back with a series of chops and sets up for the air raid crash, but Leia drops down and rolls up ball for a two count. She follows with a Leg Sweep she calls the coconut crusher and covers for the pin and the win.
Winner: Leia Makoa
