COMPLETE AEW DYNAMITE WINTER IS BLOGGING

By Cory Strode on 2022-12-14 20:15:00

It is Wednesday and AEW Dynamite is in the Curtis Culwell Center in Garland, TX for Winter Is Coming, although it is already here in Minnesota. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, and Tony Schiavone.  Find out more at teen patti bindaas apk.

Death Triangle (AEW Trios Champions) vs The Elite

Having the match open the shows reminds me of when they used to have these sorts of fast paced, spot fest matches open the show when they were in the competing directly with WWE NXT. One of the stories of the match is that the matches are taking their toll on people with Pac wearing a face mask and Nick Jackson having ankle issues.

There is another long section of Omega vs Pac, and these two working together is something I really like with Pac’s stuff always looking quick and crisp. As the match goes on, the crowd builds the noise as the match goes on. The also have Nick do the bit where he’s taken to the back but comes back, while injured, to tag the tag when Omega and Matt are down.

The Hammer comes into play as Penta hits Nick’s ankle with the hammer while the ref’s back in turned, and Rey gets a leg lock causing Nick to tap out.

Winners and now up 3 to 1: The Death Triangle

Kenny grabs a mic and says that every match they have, Death Triangle has used the hammer, so he says they should make the hammer legal. And then says all weapons should be legal. It’s gonna be no DQ. The announcers say that Tony Khan will have to approve it.

In the back, Alex Marvez asks MJF about tonight’s match. He mocks Ricky Starks’s promo making him a star and he says HE made Starks a star. He says that Ricky whines just like the people watching the show. And he was born better than him. MJF says he has no pressure, since he is already the man, and Ricky Starks is under immense pressure because everyone wants him to win. Not one of his great promos, but a nice promo to set up the stakes of the match tonight.

The Acclaimed ate jumped by Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal and Jeff Jarrett on their way to the ring. The crowd shouts at Jarrett with a non-PG 13 chant.

This allows us to get an update on The Ring of Honor Pay Per View, highlighting the main event. Tony is with The Jericho Appreciation Society, and Jericho says he will be tuning up with a match against some jobber. Jericho says that Daniel Garcia needs a bit of advice and needs to shadow Sammy Guevara to learn from him. Sammy then talks about how he will beat Jon Moxley on Friday.

Brian Cage vs Jungle Boy

On Ring of Honor, they did a great job of making Cage look like a monster, so I am worried about how Jungle Boy will make Cage look like a mid card guy. JB gets a quick series of leg attacks and takedown as to start the match, but Cage is able to rally and take control. The announcers are putting over the JB’s neck is still hurt from the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal where Big Bill slammed it into the apron.

JB is able to get a flurry when they come back from commercial, but Cage is able to cut him off. JB is able to get Cage in the snare trap, and taps out, but the ref doesn’t see it because Prince Nana distracts the ref. This followed with JB dodges a discus lariat that takes out Nana, and then a surprise rollup.

Winner: Jungle Boy

So, thanks for coming Brian Cage, hope you don’t mind losing TWICE to JB in one night. Sway to waste all the work done to build Cage back up. Rather than making Cage look bad, why not use one fo the people you haven’t spent a few months rebuilding?

JB then calls out Big Bill. Stokely Hathaway comes out instead and says if JB keeps messing around, he will see the bottom of Big Bill’s boot and the back of Stokely’s hand. JB charges and that means Big Bill and Lee Moriarty beats down JB.

Call for HOOK!

Hook and his unfortunate hair are on their way to the ring. Stokley and his crew bail. Looks like we have a tag team as Hook Helps JB up.

Jon Moxley talks about how the BCC has been running through their opponents. They will be running through people all though 2023. Mox says he is going to stomp Sammy’s face into a bloody mess and leave him for dead. He also tells Page that he knows where to find him.

Since we only had Mox, Claudio and Yuta in that promo, Bryan Danielson is still at William Regal’s side in the hospital.

We get a promo from Swerve Strickland about how he will confront Keith Lee next week.

House of Black vs The Already In The Ring Factory

Julia Hart hits Comorado with the least amount of Black Mist ever and the House of Black obliterates The Factory. Malachi Black just sits in the corner, waiting for the match the start and then he drops QT Marshall with a kick for the pin and the win.

Winners: House of Black

A video of Jamie Hayter and Hikaru Shida building to their match next week. We then get Britt Baker cutting a promo, and Skye Blue interrupts to challenge her to a match on Friday.

Chris Jericho vs The Already In The Ring Action Andretti

The crowd is chanting “Let’s Go Jobber” through the match which made me laugh. The match goes through a commercial break, which is surprising. When they come back, the crowd is still all over Jericho, chanting for Andretti. Andretti gets a few big moves in and Jericho is pinned.

Winner: Action Andretti

This reminds me of when Sean Waltman got his big win over Razor Ramon, letting the young guy get a win over a veteran/big star who wasn’t taking him seriously. I like it, and it made Jericho more interesting than he’s been in a while. I also hope they use this to make Andretti a name, since the crowd loved the match. It’s hard to see how good he was in this match, but he’s got a chance.

We then get a promo from Ricky Starks, who clicks off all of the Babyface Hero boxes.

We then get a video of FTR talking about how they will be going after the Gunn Club after their attack after the Dog Collar match at the ROH PPV.

Backstage, Jericho is smashing things and throwing a fit.

We then see MJF is texting on his phone will getting a pre-match rubdown while Starks is working out.

Tay Melo vs Ruby Soho

Yes, we get Taz singing with Ruby’s music. No dancing, however

They fight at ringside before the match starts. Tay has the advantage as they get into the ring with tossing Ruby into the barricades and the steel steps. Ruby starts the match with a series of quick suplexes. Tay then tries to leave the match, but Ruby stops her. Tay drops Ruby on her face as we go picture in picture. Both of them are using their facial expressions to tell the story of the match.

When they come back to full screen, Ruby is getting a lot of offense. As this is a “return to beat the person who puts you out” match, Ruby should be getting the majority of attacks so that her return has more impact. Thankfully, Ruby gets a definitive win with No Future and the pin.

Winner: Ruby Soho

Anna Jay attacks Ruby after the match and slams her face into the ring to re injure her nose.

Alex Marvez is getting a condition update on Adam Page, and Page says there is no timeline for his return. Page talks about how after his injury, he couldn’t remember his son’s name. Page says he will fight him, and if Mox wants to send him back to hell, he’ll take Mox with him.

We then get The Best Friends with Dustin Rhodes and they challenge Rush’s team for a match on Friday.

MJF (AEW Champion) vs Ricky Starks

They run the ropes twice and with MJF is shoulder tackled out of the ring, he goes into the crowd and stalls, messing with people around him in the crowd. I love when MJF does old school heel tactics. MJF does the little heel things you don’t see much any more, like checking his watch while Starks recovers, going into the ropes when Starks starts to get momentum, etc…

As the match goes on, it’s not flashy, not a lot of craziness, just a meat and potatoes match between a hell champion and a babyface challenger, both going hitting their roles perfectly and taking the crowd on the ride. The crowd gives it an This Is Awesome chant, not because it’s flashy, but because they are invested in Starks. This is why the STORY can build a match so that it doesn’t have to have people put their bodies at constant risk.

When MJF gets the Salt of the Earth on, Starks looks as if he’s about to explode trying to get out of it. The sequence where they get a quick series of near falls works well, and when MJF finally had to go for the low blow to get the win made Starks look strong.

Winner and still AEW Champion: MJF

With the low blow, it kept Starks from looking weak.

As MJF is going up the ramp, we get Bryan Danielson from the back, and MJF has to take off through the crowd, letting us know Winter is here, I guess.
