5 - Gabriel Kidd and Alex Coughlin vs. Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL
The regular referee bump happened. SHO and Dick Togo make their way to the ring. Yujro and EVIL wave them off and hit low blows and Kidd and Coughlin. SHO and Togo jump back in the ring and all four stomp on Kidd and Coughlin. The crowd HATES them so much. Yujiro hits Pimp Juice on Coughlin. House of Torture leaves the ring because they believe they have this match won. Coughlin kicks out at two. Crowd pops. Yujiro is shocked. EVIL brings a chair in the ring. Kidd kicks the chair into EVIL's face. Kidd drags EVIL to the floor. SHO jumps on the ring apron. Coughlin throws Yujiro into SHO, who goes flying off the ring. Coughlin hits a powerslam with a bridge.
Coughlin pins Yujiro
Big pop from the crowd. The Japanese announcers are screaming in joy. EVIL looks sour and disgusted.
Kidd and Coughlin earn their first 2 points.
EVIL and Yujiro remain at 2 points.
Kidd and Coughlin have worked really hard during this tournament. Many fans are cheering them to succeed because they were both young lions in the Japanese Dojo. They have definitely added to their character and charisma while being in the L.A. Dojo.
I have to give House of Torture some credit as well. They have been blatantly cheating in every match to the point of nausea. To steal an idea from Dave Scherer, they have "X-pac Heat", where the crowd just wants them to leave. However, they built the expectation that they would steal a win here, but they put over the younger team and allowed them to get the huge pop and earn their points off of them.
At the end of the day, neither of these teams will challenge for the Tag Titles, however, fans will remember Kidd and Coughlin's first win in Tag League over EVIL and Yujiro Takahashi. Good booking.
6 - Aaron Henare and Great O-Khan vs. Kyle Fletcher and Mark Davis
A person in a dog costume and dressed like Great O-Khan came to ringside with Gideon Grey. Grey announced that Great O-Khan has a new mascot. Grey announced both teams. Both teams stood in the entry way during their introductions and walked to the ring together.
This was a good match. Both teams pulled out their best move against each other and did not pull any punches.
Aussie Open was able to hit Corealis on Henare.
Davis pins Henare
Aussie Open remain in first place with 14 points.
O-Khan and Henare remain at 10 points.
Grey takes the mic and tells the crowd: "This match was not about 2 points. This match was about the pride in the hearts of the men in this ring. He says if you want to make a change then follow this example. Never give less than 100%. Never stop moving foward. Never give up. And if your body gives out which it will) have your allies lift you back up and do it again. Get off your ass and do something you can be proud of. This is why United Empire runs the world. Best match. Best unit."
All United Empire embrace in the ring and pose for the crowd. Henare was still selling the effects of Corealis.
Great stuff here. Everyone looked strong. Aussie Opens looks like they will meet FTR at Wrestle Kingdom and take the IWGP Tag Titles.
