12/4/22 Results from New Japan's Super Jr. Tag League from Yamaguchi, Japan:
1 - Oskar Leube and Ryohei Oiwa vs. Kosei Fujita and Yuto Nakashima
Oiwa taps out Fujita to a single-leg Boston crab.
2 - Master Wato, YOSHI-HASHI, and Tomoaki Honma vs. Bad Luck Fale, Gedo and Taiji Ishimori
YOSHI-HASHI forces Gedo to tap out to a Butterfly Lock.
3 - El Desperado, Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki vs. Hiromu Takahashi, Shingo Takagi and Tetsuya Naito
Minoru Suzuki gets a massive pop from the Yamaguchi crowd. The crowd sang "Happy Birthday" to Hiromu as it was his birthday.
Suzuki-Gun decided to give Hiromu a chop for his age. Ouch.
Takagi hit Pumping Bomber on Suzuki.
Naito rolled him up for a pin.
Super Jr. Tag League Matches:
4 - KUSHIDA and Kevin Knight vs. Ace Austin and Chris Bey
The ending sequence saw Austin hit a punt kick to KUSHIDA on the apron. Knight hit a dropkick sending Austing to the floor. Knight went for a springboard plancha, but Bey catches Knight off the top rope with Art of the Finese on the ring apron. They throw Knight back in the ring. Bey hits another Art of the Finese. Austin follows with The Fold.
Bey pins Knight.
Austin and Bey earn 2 points and now are in the lead with 12 points.
KUSHIDA and Knight remain at 2 points.
Good match. Austin and Bey have been on fire in this tournament.
5 - Robbie Eagles and Tiger Mask vs. Ryusuke Taguchi and Clark Conners
Taguchi pins Tiger Mask with a roll up.
Taguchi and Conners earn 2 points, with a total of 6 points.
Eagles and Tiger Mask remain at 4 points.
6 - SHO and Dick Togo vs. Titan and BUSHI
Titan and BUSHI was about to hit Angel Immortal until EVIL and Yujiro hit the ring and drag Titan to the floor. The referee takes a bump. BUSHI and Titan are able to fight off all 4 men. Titan hits an Asai moonsault on EVIL, Yujiro and SHO on the floor. They finally hit Angel Immortal on Togo.
BUSHI pins Togo
BUSHI and Titan earn 2 points and have 10 points total.
House of Torture remain at 2 points.
7 - YOH and Lio Rush vs. Alex Zayne and El Lindaman
YOH pins Zayne with a 5 Star Clutch.
YOH and Rush earn 2 points and are now tied for second place with 10 points.
Zayne and Lindaman remain at 10 points.
YOH and Lindaman looked to be legit pissed with each other, perhaps throwing a few stiff shots. They had to be separated by Rush and Zayne.
8 - DOUKI and Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. Francesco Akira and TJP, with Gideon Grey
The referee takes a bump when DOUKI pushes Akira into him. Kanemaru gets his whiskey and takes a swig. TJP puts Kanemaru on his shoulders for the Leaning Tower. Kanemaru sprays Akira in the eyes. Kanemaru jumps off TJP's shoulders and pushes him into Gideon Grey but TJP blocks it. TJP ducks and Gideon Grey takes an eyeful of whiskey. Kanemaru with a Tornado DDT on on TJP. DOUKI hits a Daybreak DDT on Akira. Two count. DOUKI hits a Suplex de la Luna on Akira.
DOUKI pins Akira.
DOUKI and Kanemaru earn 2 points with 4 points total.
Catch 22 remains at 10 points.
DOUKI addresses the Champions in English after the match. He said they have many moves and wins, but tonight the win is theirs.
Shocker!! Awesome win for DOUKI in a main event spot. I am happy for him. In this tournament, TJP and Akira have been beaten by BUSHI and Titan, and now by DOUKI and Kanemaru. These teams would deserve a shot at the titles. Ace Austin and Chris Bey are in the lead in the tournament. I do not have a prediction at this time. I just hope it will not be a multi-team match at Wrestle Kingdom.
