HOW TONY KHAN'S CHOICE OF PICKING THE EVPS OVER CM PUNK WORKED OUT LAST NIGHT FOR DYNAMITE

By Dave Scherer on 2022-12-01 19:17:00
The quick answer?  Not well.

As has been the recent pattern when the EVPs/Elite are in the main event, hundreds of thousands of viewers chose to turn the show off from the beginning to the end.  Last night was no different.

Dynamite opened with over a million viewers and ended with under 800,000.  The recent pattern has shown that fewer viewers give the show a try at the start post Punk and less stay for the end.

The main event match segment lost over 23% from the opening quarter.  It should be noted that every other quarter on the show lost viewers as well, but none came close to the drop that the last two quarters, which featured the EVPs, did. I posted the quarter hours, which came from the good folks at Wrestlenomics.com, below.

As for the demo, which Mike reported was the lowest number that the company has done in its regular Wednesday time slot since the end of the days when it was matched up against NXT, it dropped significantly as well.

The opening quarter in the demo did 389,000 viewers.  The final quarter did 313,000 viewers.  So, they lost 20 percent of the young viewers as well.
