11/27 NJPW SUPER JUNIOR & WORLD TAG LEAGUE RESULTS FROM AICHI, JAPAN

By James Kurokawa on 2022-11-27 21:52:00

11/27/22 Results from New Japan's Super Jr. and World Tag Leagues from Aichi, Japan:

All matches will be Tag League matches.

1 - KUSHIDA and Kevin Knight vs.BUSHI and Titan

Knight hit a running dropkick to BUSHI who was on the top rope.  Knight then hit a dropkick to Titan's chest when Titan was on KUSHIDA's shoulders.  The crowd popped for this.

Titan pins Knight after hitting Angel Immortal.

Titan and BUSHI earn 2 points and are now tied for the lead with 6 points.

KUSHIDA and Knight remain at 2 points.

2 - Alex Coughlin and Gabriel Kidd vs. Great O-Khan and Aaron Henare, with Gideon Grey

Gideon Grey has been doing the ring introductions for all the United Empire matches.

Henare pins Kidd with Streets of Rage.

O-Khan and Henare earn 2 points, with 4 points total.

Coughlin and Kidd remain with 0 points.

This was a solid match.   Coughlin matched power moves with both O-Khan and Henare and Kidd has good charisma.  These two are impressive and will have a good future in New Japan.

3 - SHO and Dick Togo vs. El Lindaman and Alex Zayne

House of Torture jumped Zayne and Lindaman on the way to the ring.   This event in Aichi is a "cheering event".   The wrestlers are pulling out all their tricks to get a crowd pop.

Lindaman pins Togo with a German Suplex with a bridge.

Lindaman and Zayne earn 2 points, and are now tied for 1st place with 6 points.

SHO and Togo remain at 0 points.

4 - Lance Archer and Minoru Suzuki vs. Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher, with Gideon Grey

Grey tried to introduce his team but Archer and Suzuki scared him into the crowd.  He introduced Aussie Open from behind the steel guardrail.

Suzuki-Gun came for a fight.   Aussie Open had to wrestle a Japan strong style match.

Archer may have tweaked his arm.

Fletcher pinned Suzuki after hitting Corealis.

Aussie Open earn 2 points and take the lead with 6 points.

Suzuki-Gun remains at 4 points.

Very impressive win for Aussie Open.  They are undefeated so far in the World Tag League and they are beating teams with different styles.

5 - Ryusuke Taguchi and Clark Conners vs. Ace Austin and Chris Bey

Bey hits the Art of the Finesse on Taguchi, and Austin follows with The Fold.

Bey pins Taguchi

Austin and Bey earn 2 points and are in the lead with 8 points.

Taguchi and Conners remain at 2 points.

6.  Bad Luck Fale and Chase Owens vs. Toru Yano and Hiroshi Tanahashi

Tanahashi pins Fale with a school boy roll up.

Yano and Tanahashi earn their first 2 points.

Fale and Owens remain at 2 points.

7.    DOUKI and Yoshinobu Kanemaru vs. YOH and Lio Rush

Rush pins DOUKI after hitting the Final Hour.

YOH and Rush earn 2 points and are tied for second place with 6 points.

DOUKI and Kanemaru remain at 0 points.

8.    Yujiro Takahashi and EVIL vs. Mikey Nicholls and Shane Haste

As Team TMDK come to the ring, they are attacked by SHO and Dick Togo.   The crowd boos loudly.

The referee takes a bump.  It is 4 against 2.  The crowd hates this.

Team TMDK makes a comeback.  The referee is revived, but he does not remove SHO and Togo from ringside.

Team TMDK is able to hit Thunder Valley on Yujiro.

Nicholls pins Yujiro.

Team TMDK earns 2 points, with 4 points total.

EVIL and Yujiro remains at 0 points.

I understand the behavior of House of Torture.  They get massive heat, now that the crowds can cheer, and New Japan may like that.   However, there is an inconsistency in enforcing the rules.  There are times when teammates do not interfere.  Gideon Grey never interferes in United Empire matches.   If they do, the referee should throw them out.  House of Torture ALWAYS interferes and there is no punishment.  Team TMDK looks strong having beaten 4 men. It also makes the referee look weak and that the House of Torture can do what they want.   Also, House of Torture holds the NEVER Openweight 6-man Championship.  What does that say about your champions who blatantly cheat?  And the crowd expects it to happen.   So far House of Torture has no wins in either Tag League.   Any of their winning opponents should get a third partner and challenge them for the NEVER Titles.  Get the tiles off of them because it is a waste.   Every team they lost to deserves a title match.  All members of House of Torture are great wrestlers, but the way they are booked is terrible.

9.    Robbie Eagles and Tiger Mask vs. Fancesco Akira and TJP, with Gideon Grey

Akira and TJP hit a 2X2 on Tiger Mask.

Akira pins Tiger Mask.

Akira and TJP earn 2 points, and are tied for second place.

Tiger Mask and Eagles remain at 4 points.

10.    SANADA and Tetsuya Naito vs. YOSHI-HASHI and Hirooki Goto

Goto and YOSHI-HASHI hit Shoto on SANADA.

YOSHI-HASHI and Goto earn 2 points, with 4 points total.

SANADA and Naito remain at 2 points.

Good main event by two consistent teams.  One of the on-going storylines is "will Tetsuya Naito have a place at Wrestle Kingdom?"  With only two points earned, Naito has some work to do, with Wrestle Kingdom more than a month away.
