Tomorrow, NBC Universal’s streaming service Peacock will unveil their latest true crime docuseries Dangerous Breed: Crime. Cons. Cats. The three part docuseries will focus on Teddy Hart, who’s penchant for outside of the ring issues has consistently spoiled his potential to become a star in professional wrestling.
The son of former Stampede Wrestling star BJ Annis and Georgia Hart, Teddy Hart was the youngest star ever hired to a developmental deal by WWE when he was initially hired, then he was let go. They tried again at least once more with the same results. TNA gave him an opportunity but Hart was let go after a fist-fight with CM Punk outside The White Trash Cafe in Nashville. Ring of Honor gave Hart a chance and he absolutely stole the show once in Philadelphia, creating considerable buzz for himself. Without weeks, he was ostracized from the locker room with his gear thrown out for doing whatever he wanted and putting everyone else at risk in a steel cage match. Even MLW, where Court Bauer is at times the Misfit Toy Whisperer for talents who have issues elsewhere, finally threw up their hands and tapped out on using Hart. Hart lasted longest with MLW but since even MLW refused to stay tethered to him, he’s struggled to gain any consistent bookings that would propel him into the mainstream here in the United States.
Everyone involved in all of those promotions should be letting out a deep sigh of relief as soon as Dangerous Breed begins to stream. Over the course of three episodes, several things become clear:
One, Hart has serious issues that have likely never been addressed and might never get addressed.
Two, anguish and abuse come to those pulled into his orbit as a repeated cycle of trauma follows in his wake.
Three, while there are a number of reprehensible moments and actions that will come to light over the course of the docuseries, none is more tragic than the still-unsolved disappearance of Hart’s former girlfriend and would-be wrestling trainee Samantha Fiddler.
While much of the discussion going into the series has been whether Hart had something to do with her disappearance, the reality is that the ripple effect of being in Hart’s orbit placed Fiddler into the position that led to her disappearance.
Without Hart, she never leaves Canada. Without Hart, she’s never left to fend for herself in Florida. Without Hart, she never steps foot on the path that leads to her disappearance, leaving her children to grow up with questions that no one can ever answer - why did this happen to our mother? Who is responsible? Where is she? Why did this happen to us?
It is clear from the second you begin viewing the series that the climax will be Teddy Hart sitting down, confronted with the Fiddler situation. However, if you expect Hart to take any sort of responsibility, much less express real concern, well, you’ve never dealt with Teddy Hart.
"I really don't give a f*** about Sam Fiddler." - Teddy Hart
Over the last several decades, Hart has lived in the same cycle. For a period of time, he showcases legitimately incredible athletic acumen for professional wrestling. Then, he completely wrecks whatever goodwill comes from it. Rinse. Repeat, except every time, Hart gets farther and farther away from what his true hopes and goals are - to end up in WWE and be christened the second coming of Bret Hart, attaining the cherished status "The Hitman" holds among the wrestling fans.
While Hart has promoted himself as a member of the Hart family, it’s telling that with the exception of his own parents, not one member of the Hart family sat down to be interviewed for this project, not even after WWE came on board as Executive Producers.
There’s a reason for that. After Dangerous Breed streams, Hart will likely be forever relegated to the outer rim of professional wrestling. I am sure someone, desperate for attention or notoriety, will book him again, believing it could create some attention, but the reality is the magic door Hart has been hoping to find that will allow him to achieve the fame he’s wanted for so long is going to be locked forever.
Hart’s antics, somewhat already well chronicled, will not make him a Joe Exotic-Tiger King-esque quasi-personality when presented through the prism of Dangerous Breed. Whatever goals Hart still believes could be attainable in WWE or elsewhere will be proven to be impossible given the story of abuse and reckless indifference that unfolds over the course of the three episodes that begin streaming tomorrow.
Instead, it may even make you wish you had never heard of Teddy Hart. It made me feel that way, over and over again.
There's an irony to the fact that Teddy Hart's ill-fated reality series began filming because he wanted to be a star. Instead, that footage provides him a spotlight he would never, ever have wanted.
Of course, none of what I write or anything that you digest from the series - whether you come away enthralled or disgusted - could ever be more important than the fact that Samantha Fiddler hasn’t been seen nor heard from since November 19, 2016.
I think given Peacock’s announcement; now would be a good time to post a reminder on just what #TeddyHart claimed in his first statement about #SamanthaFiddler. #DangerousBreed #FindSamanthaFiddler #SamanthaFiddler #Florida #MissingPerson #MMIW pic.twitter.com/NKKMyvhRYf

That means that as of Saturday, it has been over six years since Samantha Fiddler's children have seen their mother. Six years that they’ve had to grow up wondering if and when they ever will again.
I think it’s pretty obvious to all reading this with any common sense that something awful has befallen this young woman - and for all the damage Teddy Hart has caused to himself and others, much of which will be revealed when the series debuts tomorrow, one can only pray that whatever publicity Dangerous Breed: Crime. Cons. Cats. creates can somehow bring the Fiddler family some of the closure they desperately deserve.
If that could happen, it would be a miracle.
One hopes that for all everyone in Hart's orbit endured, there's one miracle that comes out of the misery.
Dangerous Breed. Crime. Cons. Cats will begin streaming tomorrow on Peacock.
Anyone who knew Samantha Fiddler or has potential information about her disappearance is asked to call FDLE Tampa at 1-800-226-1140.
