WOW - WOMEN OF WRESTLING TV REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2022-11-20 22:39:00

WOW - Women of Wrestling aired over the weekend.  Our commentary team is David McLane, Steven Dickey, and AJ Mendez.

This week’s episode, number 10, is titled: Twins vs Twins

The Heavy Metal Sisters (Razor, Fury, and Mezmeriah) vs Coach Campanelli, Chantilly Chella, and Randi Rah Rah

The Heavy Sisters attack before the bell and all three women are fighting in the ring until The Heavy Metal Sisters are tossed from the ring. Randi and Fury fight with Randi dropping Fury with a leg lariat for a two count.  Chella is tagged in, and they double-team Fury as Chella hits a drop toe hold and Randi hits a standing moonsault and Chella covers for two.

Razor tags in and Coach tags in and clothesline Razor. She takes Razor to her corner and Randi tags in for a neck breaker and a two count. Coach blows her whistle thinking it was a three count. Fury attacks Randi while the ref isn’t looking, and she stays in the ring, keeping up the attack on Randi. Razor is tagged in again and then double team Randi with Razor tagging in Fury again. Fury goes for a bow and arrow stretch and Coach comes in to break it up.

Randi crawls to her corner and tags in Chella. Chella cleans house and gets a two count of Fury. Razor and Fury set up to hit a double suplex on Chella, but Coach comes in to break it up. Chella misses a series of kicks and Fury hits a front slam and covers Chella for the pin and the win.

Winners: The Heavy Metal Sisters

Fury says that they will get their hands on the tag team titles. Razor says to bring the best tag teams here, and they will kick them out. Mezmeriah starts the head banging.

We get a recap of Kandi Krush looking for the boxing gloves her grandmother gave her. She gets in the face of BK Rhythm and Glitch who mock her and run her off. She goes to Chainsaw’s locker room and leaves quickly. No gloves yet to be found.

Adriana Gambino vs Stephy Slays

They lock up and Gambino shoves Slays into the corner twice. Slays is able to pick the leg of Gambino and gets a flurry of headlocks and drop-kicks. Gambino is able to turn it around and kicks Slays repeatedly in the corner. She pulls Slays to the middle of the ring and covers for two. Adriana then hits a guillotine on the second rope for a two count. Gambino pulls Slays’s arms behind her back and holds her. She shoves Slays into the corner and then hits the splits on Slays for a two count.

Gambino goes back to the arm stretch, but Slays escapes and hits clotheslines and drops kicks. She hits a monkey flip for a two count. Slays goes to the corner, but Gambino avoids her, hits a neck breaker and a two count.  She whips Slays into the corner, and Slays puts on the brakes. Gambino tries for a back cracker, but Slays holds onto the ropes to keep from being pulled back.

Slays goes to the top, but Gambino puts her onto her shoulders.  Slays is able to escape and gets a sunset flip for the pin and the win.

Winners: Stephy Slays

Gambino attacks Slays and Gigi Giani comes out to join in. Keta Rush shows to help, and the heels leave the ring.

Next is a video about Lana Star and Penelope Pink plotting for Pink’s upcoming match.

We get a video profile of Foxxy Fierce. Lots of footage of her past matches, and she will roll through you with a smile on her face if you disrespect her.

Penelope Pink vs Foxxy Fierce

They lock up and Pink is able to slam Foxxy. Foxxy is up, and they trade wrist locks with Foxxy reversing in an overly elaborate method. Pink stomps on Foxxy’s foot and reverses it and takes her down. Foxxy gets a leg sweep and a two count. Foxxy then gets a pair of monkey flips and a jumping kick and covers, but Lana puts Pink’s foot on the rope.

Pink gets a series of strikes in the corner and covers Foxxy for two. Pink stays in control with chops in different corners. Foxxy reverses it and gets chops of her own. Foxxy is whipped into the corner, and she tries an up and over, but Pink avoids it and grabs her hair to pull Foxxy down.

We get a Bettie Page reference.

Pink hits a slam and comes off the ropes with a cartwheel senton for a two count. They go to the corner, and Foxxy is able to escape and knocks Pink down so that she face plants on the top turnbuckle. Foxxy gets a series of kicks and charges for a head scissors takedown. Foxxy tries for a monkey flip in the corner, but Lana holds Pink’s boots to prevent it. Pink hits the Pink Nightmare (a running kick) and covers for the pin and the win.

Winner: Penelope Pink

Tag Team Title Championship Match: Miami Sweet Heat (Lindsey and Laurie Carlson) vs Tonga Twins (Kaoz and Kona)

I can’t tell Kaoz and Kona apart. Sorry.  But then even the commentary team makes jokes about how they can’t tell them apart. I will try to keep them separate by commentary, but if I mess up, I apologize to everyone.

Also, this is the only match on the show where everyone involved doesn’t look like a trainee.  WOW isn’t known for the great wrestling, but the silly, over the top characters, but they DO have some solid performers, and they tend to pull them out for their main events.

Sadly, they have less than ten minutes for the match, and since they have been building toward this since episode one, would it have hurt them to give it some time?

Tonga controls the first part of the match, driving Lindsey into the corner for a chop. Lindsey is able to reverse it and gives Kaos a chop. They go to the middle of the ring and trade waist and headlocks. Lindsey tries for a cross body, but Kaos grabs her. Laurie comes in and drop-kicks them down, and then covers the Kaos for two (despite not being legal, come on, clean that up).

Lindsey is tagged in and whips Laurie into Kaos and then covers for two. Laurie tags in, and they keep her in the corner with a knee, and they pick her up for a slam. Laurie tries to keep her down, and Kaos headbutts her and tags in Kona. Laurie shoves Kona into the corner and tags in Lindsey. Kona is able to fight both of them and then headlocks Lindsey.

Kona and Laurie fight on the floor. Kaos slams Lindsey for a two count. Kona chokes Lindsey on the second rope and Laurie comes in to break it up, but the ref doesn’t allow her to get in. Kaos releases the hold, hits a snap mare and brings Lindsey down and holds her with a rear chin lock.

Lindsey works to her feet with strikes into Kaos. Kona runs in to pop Laurie and knock her off the apron. Lindsey is whipped into the Tonga corner and Kona tags in. Kona hits a hip attack for a two count. Kaos tags in and then flip Lindsey to the mat for a two count. Kona tags in, and they try to slam Lindsey, but she is able to hit a double DDT and get to her corner for Laurie to tag in and clean house.

Laurie hits a back elbow, a discus clothesline, and a bicycle kick, ending with clotheslining Kona over the top. Laurie and Lindsey hit topes through the second rope onto the Tonga Twins.  The Tongas are rolled in and before Miami Sweet Heat and follow, Chainsaw and Holiday with Siren the Voodoo Doll hit the ring and the bell sounds for a DQ.

Disqualification, no new Tag Team Champion crowned.
