It was announced this week by The New York Times that NYC has come to terms with The New York City Football Club to build a soccer stadium as part of a complex in Queens, NY that will be situated next to The New York Mets' Citifield Stadium. There is an AEW connection here as Rafael Morfi, the company's Vice President of Live Events and Touring was part of Major League Soccer’s MLS to Queens campaign committee aimed at bringing a NYC team and eventual stadium to the city after his time with WWE. Morfi, who has connections to MLS and located elected officials was a consultant to Major League Soccer at the time and helped pave the way for all of this to happen. The Stadium, which is expected to be completed by 2027, will be built on an area that had been previously utilized for a series of garages but will now feature a complex that includes the stadium, a 250-room hotel and 2,500 apartments. They expect it to be a massive boon to the ecomony and having grown up in that area, will be an incredible turnaround for that part of Flushing.
CM Punk will be doing commentary tonight for the Cage Fury Fighting Championship tonight in Tunica, MS. So, no, he won't be in Newark this weekend.

Brody King of The House of Black is in the Northeast as his band played in Brooklyn, NY at The Meadows last night. A ton of AEW personalities were there including Eddie Kingston, Darby Allin, Ortiz and Daniel Garcia, among others.
Jake Roberts is launching a new podcast The Snake Pit with Jake Roberts on 12/6.
AEW will be taping matches for future editions of Dark tonight prior to the live Rampage broadcast on TNT.
After Rampage, TNT will air a Full Gear Countdown special at 11 PM tonight.
