“Chatter Box” with Randall & Bibi
Are talking about the most popular small dog in North America. Their next story is Dwayne Johnson has gone out of the public eye since losing the election. They show a video of him giving a child an autograph and the kid tells him “it must be hard knowing America doesn’t need you”.
Randall visits The Rock who is pretending everything is ok. He tells Randall he has won and lost in the big arena before.
Flashback 1985 - we pick up from last year and Rocky Johnson is in Saudi Arabia doing a spot show he wasn’t supposed to since he is under exclusive contract to WWF. He gets a call from Pat Patterson letting him know that Vince knows what he’s doing. Johnson gets to work his shows but is not on WrestleMania. A bad career decision.
Dewey is watching Hulk Hogan & WWF when Rocky gets home. Rocky tells Ata maybe they shouldn’t form their own promotion in Hawaii. Rocky says they’re invited to New York for a party for Cyndi Lauper.
They arrive at the party and Capt. Lou Albany and Iron Sheik welcome him home, he tells them about the Saudi Arabia territory and they seem bewildered.
Vince introduces Cyndi Lauper (Becky Lynch) and Hulk Hogan. They premiere the “Goonies R Good Enough” music video. Dewey catches Hogan’s headband and Hulk asks for it back. Lauper sees it and gives him a bracelet.
Vince comes up to Rocky and says hello and asks if he can take the knife out of his back.
The Rock & Randall talk about how Rocky ruined his relationship with Vince and it was the beginning of a rough patch.
1997 - Post WrestleMania 13 period. Vince decides to take the Intercontinental Championship off him. He feels like his father, getting demoted to non-televised shows and losing a lot. He talks about how he’s back living with Dany and how she’s coming to the events. They show Mankind, Stone Cold & Bret Hart giving him pep talks.
1987 - Rocky is wrestling at a used car lot trying to put on a brave face and gives Dewey a pep talk as he’s a few weeks away from going to Miami for college.
Back to 1997 and we see Rocky Maivia in the ring against Mankind and he hurts his knee.
The Rock says to Randall he was in the wrong area and politics wasn’t for him. Just then he gets a call from President Obama but he realizes he didn’t change the contact number and it’s President Taft who tells him there is a crisis and his country needs him.
“Young Rock” airs Friday on NBC or On Demand.
