It is Friday and AEW Rampage is coming from Daily’s Plaza in Jacksonville Florida. Our commentary team is Excalibur, Taz, and Jim Ross.
The Acclaimed (AEW Tag Team Champions) VS Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese and Josh Woods) For the titles and the trademark for Scissor Me
The Acclaimed attack as the bell rings and toss the Varsity from the ring. They then try to attack Mark Sterling which allows the Athletes to dump the Acclaimed from the ring. The match then settles down a bit and the Acclaimed double team Josh Woods in the corner. Max and Woods run the ropes and Max gets a back body drop followed by trading wrist and waist locks.
Josh is able to knock Max out of the ring. Sterling gets on the apron to ask for Billy Gunn to be sent to the back, and the ref does so as he catched Gunn in the ring. Josh gets a two count as we go to picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, Max hits a flying cross body on Woods and tries to crawl to his side of the ring to tag. He gets the tag and Bowens cleans house. Bowens gets a flying Famouser for a two count, broken up by Nese. Nese tags in and keeps Bowens in their corner. Nese and Woods hit quick tags in and out. They get their combo finisher on Bowens for a two count broken up by Max. Max stays in and slams Woods.
Bowens tosses Nese out of the ring onto Max. Max is tagged in and Bowens hits the arrival, Max hits the mic drop and covers for the three.
Winners and still AEW Tag Team Champions: The Acclaimed
Mark Sterling says he still has the copyright, but Billy Gunn comes from the back and tosses him into the ring. The Acclaimed hit a double stomp on Mark’s yam bag, and then Bowens hits the Scissor Me Timbers and the copyright paperwork is torn up.
In a pre-tape, Tony is with Jade Cargill, and one of the Baddies is taking Penelope Ford’s place in the match with Willow Nightingale if AEW lets her be in the ring with Nyla Rose and her TBS belt.
IN the back, Ortiz and Eddie Kingston are with the Lucha Brothers. They tell Eddie they don’t want him losing his temper and losing another job. Pac shows up and mocks Eddie, and he is not happy about it as Death Triangle leaves.
Hook (FTW Champion) vs Aryia Daivari
Aryia gives one last chance for Hook to sell the belt, and Hook gives him a back body drop and the money goes flying.
Aryia is able to take over and beats on Hook in the corner, and then drapes him on the middle rope and kicks and attacks. When the ref isn’t looking, Jeeves the butler attacks Hook. Gray is tossed into Hogan, and then Willow hits a kick. She gets a Doctor Bomb and a three count for the win.
Winner: Willow Nightingale
Tony joins her in the ring and he lets us know she is now All Elite. Jade Cargill comes to the ring with a chair. She dismisses Willow and the Baddies join her. She sits in the chair and grabs the mic. She tells Nyla she has 10 seconds to bring her her belt.
Before the countdown, we see Nyla in Jade’s car with the belt and drives off, singing “What’s Up?” by 4 Non Blondes. I really like that Nyla is bringing her humor to her character, and this was a funny bit.
Jade says she isn’t leaving the ring until she gets her belt back and the Baddies run to the back. Security comes to the ring and Jade is able to take them on as we see how the Main Event is now a match for the All Atlantic Title. Rush tells 10 to bring the fight, and Orange Cassidy says he won the title in Canada. He asks if they want some beers. Both 10 and Rush refuse. He injects himself into 10 and Rush’s match.
Mark Henry does his interview thing. Oddly, Orange Cassidy seems to care and is in Mark Henry’s block. He says he felt like getting involved in the match.
Jade Cargill is nowhere to be seen, so I guess she was finally removed by Security.
Orange Cassidy (All Atlantic Champion) vs Preston Vance (10) vs Rush
Cassidy keeps his title in a backpack as he brings it to the ring.
Rush and Vance attack as Cassidy is still getting ready for the match. Cassidy does the pockets and soft kicks and Rush nails Vance as Cassidy went back for the last kick. Winner and still All Atlantic Champion: Orange Cassidy
Vance stops and has words with Rush on his way to the back and we are desperately out of time.
