TOP 3 ATHLETES WITH GUEST APPEARANCES AT WRESTLING SHOWS

By Kendall Jenkins on 2022-10-20 08:07:00

It is safe to say that sport is a pretty important aspect of social life in the United States. But, so is the entertainment. When you consider that, it should not come as a surprise that the wrestling that we know today originated in the United States. Today, we are going to discuss some of the best guest appearances by athletes on the show. Here are the three that people loved the most.

William Perry

When it comes to professional athletes who made an appearance on Wrestlemania, it is safe to say that William Parry of the National Football League was one of the best. The Fridge was one of the toughest guys in the NFL and it simply made sense for him to be a guest on one show. This historic night happened back in 1986. That was a battle royale event with 20 guys battling. There were names like Bret Hart and Andre the Giant that night. The older fans of the sport definitely remember this wonderful night. William Perry was so good that night that he got into the WWE hall of fame in 2006. What a story that was.

Shaquille O'Neal

Shaquille O'Neal starred as a special guest on WWE Raw back in 2009, and we can honestly say it was a success. WWE staff gave Shaq a chance to fight against the Big Show, and Shaq won.

The fight started when Shaq interrupted the bout between Chris Jericho and the Big Show. It is safe to say that was one of the most memorable guest appearances in the history of WWE. That final victory dance by Shaq was simply sweet. If you have not seen it, you simply need to watch it right now.

Wayne Rooney

When we say the name Wayne Rooney, people usually think of his wonderful soccer career for Manchester United and the England national team. But, did you know that Wayne Rooney had an appearance in WWE back in 2015? Yes, he did, and what an appearance it was. He got to slap the one and only King Barrett in the face. We do not often get the chance to see soccer players in WWE, but we are sure happy this night happened. Sceptics will say that the whole slap scene was staged, but we love to think that it was pure improvisation by the wonderful English player.

Those are some of the best appearances by famous professional athletes on the WWE.
