NWA POWERRR TV REPORT

By Cory Strode on 2022-10-16 20:58:00

NWA Powerrr starts off with the bell ringing for a woman’s tag team match.  I’ll fill in the commentary team and the rest as it is announced:

The Hex (Allysin Kay and Marti Belle) vs Natalia Markova and Taryn Terrell

Markova starts with Belle and they trade wrist locks. Belle takes down Markvoa with a front leg sweep for a two count and then tags in Kay. They double team Markvoa and the announcers remind us that Markvoa and Terrell are not a tag team and The Hex are, so they will be smoother working together.

Kay is able to get a two count and after she slams Markova into the corners, Belle is tagged in.  They run a series of double team moves until Terrell throws her huge skirt at Bell to distract her. Terrell then avoids an attack from Belle. Markvoa uses this to take control. Terrell tags in and they keep working over Belle in the corner.

She chokes out Belle on the second rope and then covers for a two count. Markvoa is tagged in and she taunts Kay into the ring and then keeps up the attack on Belle. Belle gets a running knee strike but can’t get the tag. Markova takes down Belle and Terrell gets a blind tag and a two count. Markova then blind tags herself in. They argue and tag each other in and out. They then keep arguing and Kays tagged in.

Kay cleans house. All four women fight in the ring. Kay and Belle hit “Hex Marks The Spot” which is their finisher where Belle kicks Terrell as Kay slams her, and Kay covers for the win.

Winners: The Hex

I thought the story was well told, and Terrell and Markova tagging in to annoy the other was a decent bit.

Joe Galli, Tim Storm, and Velvet Sky are our commentary team.

Homicide is with Kyle Davis and he says Homicide is slipping back into old behavior.

Homicide says that the title is his happiness. If he has to bite you, kick you, whatever it takes. He is old school Homicide and if you don’t like it, kiss his ass.

Question Mark II says he is here to honor his brother’s memory. He is asked if he has a visa since he might be deported, but he doesn’t understand since he is here to fight for honor.

Question Mark II vs KC Roxx

Question Mark II is from Mongrovia. Roxx is a bit scared to lock up and that Questions Mark is over the proper weight for the division.

Mark slaps on a headlock and works it for a bit. Roxx is then slammed down. Roxx gets an insigiri, and then he leaps, and Mark catches him and does squats.

Aron Stevens has shown up and is outside the ring yelling about Mark.

Mark tosses Roxx across the ring and then gets him in a bear hug. The announcers talking about Mongrovia, where Mark is from, is pretty funny stuff. Roxx escapes and hits a series of kicks.  Aaron grabs a mic and says this match is why he hates wrestling. He says it’s disgraceful that Question Mark II is claiming to be Question Mark but Mark is one of his clients. He insults the crowd and leaves.

Roxx is able to get a sleeper on Mark, but Mark is able to get up and hit a snap mare on Roxx. Mark bows to Roxx. Roxx gets a spinning heel kick, and a few other kicks. Mark takes over and hits the Mongrovian spike and covers for the three.

Winner: Question Mark II

This was primarily storyline, with Roxx being squashed.

Matt Cardona and Chelsea Green are asked what their secret for being a successful power couple is. . Matt says it’s a secret.  Matt is then asked if he has a problem with regaining the title by pinning Tyrus.  Matt says he will pin anyone, including Billy Corrigan. He will become a two time NWA world champion. Chelsea is asked if she is still after The Burke, and Chelsea says it’s a dumb question and everyone is after The Burke. Matt says he has an idea and they leave.

Chris Adonis vs Thrillbilly Silas Mason vs Dak Draper for a shot at the title

Dr. Tom Prichard joins the commentary team.

They start by jacking jaws in the middle of the ring. Silas attacks first and Adonis goes for the master lock and then all three men are fighting.  Silas is tossed from the ring first so Adonis and Draper can fight. Silas is in and Adonis is tossed so Silas can fight Draper. Silas gets the first two count and keeps control over Draper.

Adonis is able to come in and takes out Silas and then goes to work on Draper. Draper is able to take down Adonis. Silas comes in and clotheslines Draper and all three men are down. Silas is up first and grabs the next man up, Adonis and gives him the Thrill Ride (holds him for a side slam, but first spins) and Adonis is able to escape and put on the Master Lock.

Draper breaks it up with a boot to the side of Adonis’s face. Draper gets the Magnum KO (a slam) on Silas and covers for the three count.

Winner and getting a title match: Dak Draper

A bit short for a number one contender match, but everyone got their finishing move, with Draper being the last one to do so.

We get clips from NWA Surge where the Spectaculars get a win.

KiLynn King vs Taya Valkyrie in a number one contender’s match.

I have seen King on AEW and she’s been impressive there, even if she had to take the pinfalls.

They trade kicks to start with, they then move to forearms and chops. Taya shoots King into the ropes and follows in with strikes. King is then able to hit a side slam on the apron.  She covers for a one count.  She then hits a high back suplex and covers for a two count. She works over Taya in the corner and then puts her on her shoulder and carries her around the ring. Taya escapes and gets shoulders in the corner. Taya then slams King’s face into the mat and covers for a one count.

Taya keeps King down with stomps and a cover for a two count. Taya stomps King in the corner and then gets a loud chest slap as King is in the ropes. She then locks in a stretch on King. King is able to roll for a two count, and then Taya reverses it for a two count. King is up and brings down Taya with a drop toe hold and locks in a calf cutter.

Taya makes it to the ropes for a break. Taya then works into a laying ankle lock. Taya changes it to the loca lock. King is able to stop the hold from going on with elbows and then rolls onto Taya for a two count. Taya hits knee strikes and strikes. Taya reverses it by picking the leg and drops her for a surfboard stomp and a two count.

Taya goes to the top and King gets to her feet and fights her on top. Taya is dropped on the top turnbuckle and King hits a running raising knee strike. Taya is able to recover and hits a flying cross body for a two count.

Taya drops King and gets her loca lock. King crawls to the rope for the break. Taya tries to whip King off the ropes, but King is able to get the Excalibuster and the three count.

Winner: KiLynn King

Best match of the night. Taya holds up Kind’s hand in victory and that’s it for this week.
