BRAY WYATT IS HEADING TO FRIDAY NIGHT SMACKDOWN, BUT FOR WHO?

By Kendall Jenkins on 2022-10-15 00:04:00

Bray Wyatt’s long-awaited return to WWE at Extreme Rules will go down as one of the highlights of 2022. The Eater of Worlds left the company shortly after Wrestlemania 37 in April 2021, where he was betrayed by Alexa Bliss and lost to Randy Orton at the Show of Shows for a second time. Many fans couldn’t believe that Wyatt - after once again reinventing himself in the Firefly Funhouse - had had his character destroyed by the powers that be. But his return in Philadelphia has got wrestling fans the world over buzzing once again. Online bookmakers such as Betway, which provide betting and free offers on combat sports, had made Cody Rhodes the overwhelming favorite for January’s Royal Rumble match in San Antonio, but could the return of Wyatt throw a spanner in the works?

Despite the Raw after Extreme Rules being a certified banger of a show - which featured Roman Reigns and his Bloodline, as well as the return of Brock Lesnar - many were disappointed that The Man of a Thousand Truths wasn’t on the show. We did, however, discover that he would be on WWE’s blue brand. But could this be his potential target?

Roman Reigns

Yes, we understand that feeding Bray immediately to the Head of the Table may not be wise. If the pair were to face off one on one for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, it’s highly likely that the Tribal Chief would come out on top and continue his record-breaking reign as champion. But there’s no saying that the duo have to scrap it out for the title. Perhaps the pair don’t even have to have a match. But Wyatt should certainly be out for Roman Reigns’ blood.

The reason we say that is because the downfall of Bray Wyatt’s ‘Fiend’ persona can be traced all the way back to Reigns’ return at Summerslam two years ago. On that hot August evening, the former Big Dog speared The Fiend and gave him a brutal beatdown following Wyatt’s Universal Championship victory over Braun Strowman. A month later, Reigns dethroned The Fiend as champion and in the months following that, a feud with Randy Orton would destroy the character forever. As Wyatt once famously said to Reigns’ shield brethren Seth Rollins: “Friends forgive, but he, he never forgets.” Could that prophecy once again ring true on Friday night?
