About 42 million tourists visit Las Vegas every year. Tens of thousands of them trudge from the Eiffel Tower of Paris Las Vegas through the canals of The Venetian to the fountains of Bellagio. Nice, but what if you're looking for something exclusive, something those 42 million other visitors don't come to? Or even never heard of it? Are there such places in Las Vegas? Yes! Even Las Vegas has some hidden secrets that most people will never get to. In this post, we will list the 5 secret places in Sin City for you, but with a warning: bring a big wallet! If you don't like to bet big or spend massively on gambling games, you can enjoy playing in non GamStop casinos.
The Mansion: strictly by invitation (Photo: MGM Resorts).
The MGM Grand is one of the largest hotels in the world with 6852 rooms. But of the hundreds of thousands of hotel guests who sleep here every year, few know that another hotel is hidden in the middle of the MGM Grand: The Mansion.
The Mansion consists of 29 beautiful, exclusive and over-the-top luxury apartments and villas in a lush Italian garden. The architecture of the villas is inspired by a palace from 18th century Florence.
Unless you specifically look for it, you will never find the entrance to The Mansion. If you find it already, you won't get through. Only if you're one of MGM's biggest high-rollers or a world-famous VIP or movie star can you pay $5,000 to $25,000 by invitation for a night at this ultra-exclusive resort-within-a-resort. (The big gamblers get the overnight stays as a gift, of course).
What's included for that price? Everything you want. All you have to do is snap your fingers or your private butler will take care of it. Furthermore, all apartments and villas have a private pool, there is an art collection that would not look out of place in an average museum, two spas and of course its own casino. As a guest of The Mansion, you never have to be among the crowds in the 'normal' MGM Grand again.
From $300,000 you are welcome!
Do you feel like an exciting gamble and do you have at least $300,000 to put on the gaming table? Then, if you want, the doors of Sky Casino in hotel-casino Encore Las Vegas will open for you.
Sky Casino is a magnificent private casino for serious players. You play roulette, baccarat or blackjack for large amounts in a private, luxurious atmosphere. Also, you can play slots. Yes, a bit vulgar, that's what we think too!
You will find the Sky Casino on the 63rd floor of Encore. In fact, that is the 48th, top floor of the beautiful mega complex. All floors that start with the number 4 are missing. The figure is an unlucky number for Asians, who are by no means an unimportant target group in Sin City.
The terrace of Villa Marcus Aurelius. Another 'mansion', but smaller, are the three so-called Octavius Pool Villas in Caesars Palace. They are set in a fantastic, enclosed garden which, with a good sense of drama, is called Garden of the Gods. The villas were built in 2007. Construction cost: $15 million. Per Unit.
Each villa is built in a different theme. There is a French villa (Claudius), a Spanish villa (Marcus Aurelius) and a Greek villa (Constantine). The villas cost around $25,000 a night.
If you put 25,000 dollars on the table, you can see with your own eyes whether you get value for money.
The Paiza Club is hidden on the 36th floor of The Venetian.
Hidden on the 36th floor of The Venetian you'll find perhaps the most exclusive club in Las Vegas: Paiza Club. You must be a member to enter and you cannot apply for such a membership. If you qualify, you will automatically receive a discreet invitation.
What does that club entail? First of all, here you will find some very discreet private game rooms where you can play roulette, blackjack and baccarat that involves big money. No one here blinks on a bet of $200,000 per hand.
The Paiza Club also houses a restaurant-cum-bar with fabulous views over Las Vegas, one of the largest cigar collections in the world, a wine cellar full of exquisite wines that are almost impossible to get elsewhere and a special room for tea ceremonies.
The Jackie Gaughan Suite is rather retro...
Live and sleep like a real casino millionaire. See, now that's something unique. In Downtown Las Vegas you can rent the apartment of casino legend Jackie Gaughan.
Gaughan owned several illustrious casinos during his lifetime (October 24, 1920 – March 12, 2014).
Gaughan's stately suite is located on the 15th, and also top, floor of the hotel-casino El Cortez. A word of warning: the apartment has not changed since the 1980s. So be prepared for a lot of marble, old pink curtains and in the bathroom all the taps are made of gold – the one in the bath is shaped like a swan.
The suite cannot be found on El Cortez's website. To book you have to call the reception and ask explicitly.
