'YOUNG ROCK' CASTING SEVERAL INTERESTING PRO WRESTLING PERSONALITIES FOR SEASON THREE

By Mike Johnson on 2022-09-21 11:00:00

As PWInsider.com reported yesterday, production is now underway in Memphis, TN for the third season of NBC's Young Rock.  PWInsider.com has confirmed the production is casting the following for future episodes:

-Ron Simmons aka Farooq, during the time period he was the leader of the Nation of Domination circa the WWF Attitude Era.  At least one episode will be set around Wrestlemania 13, so that may be where he fits into the storylines.

-Bad News Allen (aka Bad News Brown), former Olympian Allen Coage, who will be seen during the time period in the 1980s where Rocky Johnson wrestled in Hawaii.

PWInsider.com has also confirmed they are casting someone new to take over as Lars Anderson, who was seen briefly in season two as taking over the booking for The Rock's grandmother's promotion in Hawaii in the mid-80s last season.  The series has re-cast a number of smaller, supporting roles with the move from Australia to the United States for filming this season, including Lou Albano, Ric Flair, Roddy Piper and more.

The third season will again be made of ten episodes.  Chavo Guerrero has returned as wrestling coordinator on the series, which will return on 11/4 to NBC in a new Friday night timeslot at 8:30 PM EST.
