Wrestling Open Week 37 “Invasion”

Southeast First Uncharted Territory has sent some fighters up to Worcester to challenge Wrestling Open’s mettle tonight. And that invasion starts RIGHT NOW!

Spotlight Match: “Zaddy” Dillion McQueen vs “The Wild Hound” Johnny Rivera

The Last Laugh wants the first laugh tonight, it seems. Hunter Drake & Kenzie Paige make their presence known at the curtain but let Dillion fight this battle alone. McQueen thinks he’s a powerhouse and the the Hound throws him out of the corner. And again. McQueen has clearly stepped in it here and needs a raging power walk around the ring to fire back up. Let’s bark for Johnny. Test of strength. Run up the ropes and Dillion slaps Johnny hard. But it’s just a slap. Rivera with a slam, catch the crossbody, fallaway slam! Johnny is looking dominant through this until he gets hot shotted. Hard knee to the chin for two. Dillion got chops, Rivera tries a reverse but gets Rolled up for two. Codebreaker doesn’t end it and Dillion is aflame with frustration again. Rivera off the ropes….spear! Finlay roll! Dillion kicks out! Hound goes up for the moonsault but eats knees. McQueen traps the arm and spikes a low angle ddt for the win!

Winner: Dillion McQueen

And we’re live on IWTV! Paul Crockett & Denver Colorado are on commentary! Rich Palladino is your announcer! Let’s goooooo!

Match 1: Ray Jaz vs Thomas Santell

Jaz does not like being pelted by toilet paper with his own face on it. But it’s a joke to him and we don’t take him seriously. Just like Ryan Clancy, who he injured last week, we have our priorities out of whack. Santell is VERY serious though and out the curtain on fire. Santell is all over Jaz and unloading on him. Reversal? Nah, Santell takes it right back. He stomps right to the abs and grinds it him. Jaz pulled up and dropped off the ropes. Santell wants a table?!? It’s too far away and he decides to just keep beating on that oily Jersey Jazbag instead. Hammer fists to the chest, a flurry of buckle shots. This is a one sided beatdown of Ray Jaz and I AM HERE FOR IT. Santell has a sharpshooter and we really want the Jaz Tap of the Day. Santell coming into the corner and pummeling him with punches, the ref tries to pull him away, Jaz snatches him with the back slide, gets some feet on the ropes and steals the three out of nowhere. Nooooooo! Santell gives chase out of venue!

Winner: Ray Jaz

Match 2: “Big Bacon” Brad Hollister vs Rico Gonzalez

Bacon is being “welcoming” of our guest from the Southeast. Hard slap, Rico getting some air early! Bacon catches a back elbow into a German to stop that rush cold. Bacon is a bully and just manhandles Rico with hard hip attacks, suplexes and head butts. The crowd trying to fire Rico back up but Bacon drops him, senton connects for two. Rico back in it! Rolling chop to the face, tornado kick for two! Rico almost caught in the jackhammer…he reverses it! Slingshot Suplex and a float over for two! Rico firing up! Miss on an elbow drop! Bacon catches him flying into the corner with a powerbomb and hits the tornado jackhammer to close this out in a little less than five. Good showing for Rico but Bacon was in full bulldozer mode.

Winner: Brad Hollister

Match 3: Bear Boulder vs CPA

So what, CPA has one hard hitting matchup and now he wants to slay some giants?!? Boulder just shoved him down but CPA is right back up and in his arms, throwing punches. He tries to get a sleeper on Boulder, the big bear out and whiffs a clothesline….he tries Form 619, Boulder catches him and press slams him right to the hard floor of the White Eagle. What a Terrible fall. CPA looks motionless for most of the refs count but makes it back at like 9.9999. Boulder with a bear hug tries to squeeze CPA for every dollar he has. CPA back in it?!? Missile dropkick! And another. He can’t take Boulder off his feet! He tries to crunch some numbers but he may have crun he’d his own Vertabrea. Boulder out but CPA dodges again. Short form 619! Rip the shirt! He lifts and hits Crunch the Numbers on Bear Boulder!!! OMG! Boulder kicks out hit the crowd is hot for CPA! He tries another dropkick but Boulder kicks him out of the air. Second rope moonsault from Boulder destroys CPA’s chest and puts him down for the pin. Who is THIS reinvigorated CPA that showed up in Worcester the last two weeks?!? I’m here for it.

Winner: Bear Boulder

Match 4: “The Timeless One” Crowbar (w/ Percival) vs Johnny Santos

What a dance partner Suavemente has tonight! Santos wants to dance but Crowbar has no time for that. Crowbar caught in a pose and blasted with the lariat. Santos can’t stop dancing though and it’s proving to give the openings Crowbar needs. Crowbar catches the arms and tosses Johnny over. Hangman’s legdrop plants Johnny’s face into the apron. Santos trying to fight back but Crowbar is just mauling him. A high crossbody finally connects! Santos back to life! Superkick! Kick out! Crowbar reverses a suplex and faceplants Johnny. Crowbar applies a standing dragon sleeper….Johnny fights off the three arm count but Crowbar slams him down with a reverse ddt and gets the pin! Really enjoyed this!

Winner: Crowbar

Match 5: Brogan Finlay vs “World Class” Channing Thomas

Channing is going it alone tonight without Sidney Bakabella. He runs down Brogan for being a southern wrasssler….but if Brogan wants the best…Channing is that. I guess. Lol. The crowd believes that Channing f***ing sucks. Brogan is having fun watching this crowd tear into Thomas. Brogan winning the early exchanges and Channing needs a breather. Brogan gives chase on the outside and walking him down through the crowd. Harrrrrrrd chop starches Channing and the crowd now knows Brogan Finlay’s name. Channing trips up Finlay and introduces him face to the floor. Thomas taking over in the ring and tries to grind Brogans ribs down. Brogan back into it with backdrops and uppercuts! Channing tripped into the corner and Brogan double stomps him for two! Brogan with an overshoot dive but falls back with an elbow drop. Channing kicks out but quickly rolls up and traps Brogan for the three! Weird sudden finish but Brogan proved how much he’s grown as a wrestler since the last time he visited us.

Winner: Channing Thomas

Tyree Taylor is here to face the Stetson Ranch. He needs a partner and…while his first couple of options didn’t pick up…our mom did!

Match 6: The Stetson Ranch (Steven Stetson & Danny Miles) vs Tyree Taylor & Bobby Orlando

Tyree tries to put his chain on Bobby Junior but the chain weighs like 10 Bobby Juniors PER LINK. Stetson won’t face Tyree and lets Miles start this with the big boy. Miles is not having a good night as Tyree batters him and gives Orlando a Bobby Slam into the Dream Crusher. Stetson decides it’s safe enough to get involved and big man’s Orlando. But big men have feet and Mom gets stomping. The ranch sent flying to the outside and Tyree press slams Bobby into them! Sick trick! Stetson comes back as the crowd gives him this week’s spelling lesson. Miles slams Stetson into Orlando, HOW DO YOU LIKE IT BOBBY?!? Stetson stunned…flying stunner! True tags in and taking the ranch apart! Enziguri to Stetson! Spear to Miles! Miles just yeeted into Stetson for two! Miles grabs the foot and Stetson lands a hard big boot. Orlando cuts it off but Miles lands a lungblower! Tyree back in it and tries to suplex Mikes but Stetson grabs the feet, Miles turns it in the air and gets the pin with Stetson’s assist, like Rude/Warrior at Mania 5 (and appropriately, Stetson IS the Weasel here).

Winners: Stetson Ranch

Match 7: Sheriff BRG (w/ his trusty steed Clip Clop) vs Ichiban

This has the potential to be really good. BRG is foregoing some of his abnormal cowboy shtick and going right in for the kill. Ichiban has friends in the crowd tonight and BRG is looking to hurt him in front of them. Flurry of one punches but BRG spears him out of the handspring! Hard toss to the floor and Ichiban is hurting. Ichiban ain’t getting counted out but BRG is ready with the stomps. Hard ripcord lariat sends Ichiban spiraling down for two. Ichiban catches a head scissor! Here we go! Dropkicks, back elbows! BRG chopping back but gets tossed off the top, Ichiban runs in with the flatliner and gets the win! His posse of friends are hot for number one! Once again, BRG has let Clip Clop down and he argues with his steed all the way to the back.

Winner: Ichiban

Ichiban is gonna cut a promo? Lucky for us, Rich Palladino speaks Ichiban and he wishes to challenge Brad Hollister.

Match 8: TJ Crawford vs “The Prize” Alec Price

Price has a fan at ringside hold up his belts like a certain IWTV champ we know. Price though is happy to welcome TJ Crawford to a Worcester wrestling ring. Crawford out working Price early…Price with duck under a leapfrog, Crawford lands and immediately crumples. His knee is blown oh noooo. Is it a fake out? Price is calling for help from the ba—nope. It’s a fake out. Crawford unloading on Price and the crowd does NOT like that. Price with a jaw breaker stuns TJ but he clears caught in a half and half overhead toss. Slingshot stunner and a brain buster crumples the northeast beast. Price escapes a fireman’s carry…flip down sunset roll….price connects hard with a fist! Ripcord enziguri! Knees and a leg lariat of the buckles! Suprize kick connects and that’s the end of TJ Crawford’s night…but it was a heck of a Wrestling Open debut!

Winner: Alec Price

Crowbar is out here with Percival? He says that everyone is talking about Alec Price. He hears it and sees it. If Price wants to wrestle locker room veterans…Crowbar has 4 decades of experience just waiting to test our Ace. The crowd demands Price whup him. Price says he doesn’t want to hurt this “old man” but fires up and says the result is always the same, his foot through a skull. He catches Crowbar’s attempt to attack but is blindsided by Percival. Price getting beat down and Crowbar puts him down with a dragon sleeper while the bell rings. The crowd does NOT like this, as Percival counts a three for Crowbar on Price. Crowbar laughs at the crowd, who DID chant “Please Come Back” at him earlier….we got our wish? If you told me I would be excited for Alec Price vs Crowbar a couple of years ago…I would not have believed you. But here we are.

Match 9: Smart Mark Sterling vs Bryce Donovan

Sterling says that Sidney Bakabella sent him her to take care of business with Donovan. He’s gonna work this kid and take his time doing it. The bell rings, Donovan rolls him up and gets the pin in FIVE SECONDS. It’s a Wrestling Open record!

Winner: Bryce Donovan

Sterling on the mic, calls in his immediate rematch stipulation in his contract. It’s in the contract?!? Sure, why not?

Match 10: Bryce Donovan vs Smart Mark Sterling

Sterling is here for two paydays? Regardless, he’s actually battering Bryce down in the first minute or so. It’s time for the greatest Mark Sterling suplex….and Bryce connect with it! Hard punches, flying clothesline! Sterling wants a powerbomb but gets pulled into the black hole slam and Bryce taps him out with an anaconda Vice in about 2 minutes!

Winner: Bryce Donovan

Sterling is upset and says he promised Sidney Bakabella that he’d teach Bryce a lesson. He begs for another rematch and swears to never wrestle at wrestling Open again if he loses. We have a third match?!?

Match 11: Bryce Donovan vs Smart Mark Sterling

Donovan tries the roll up. Kick out! Black hole slam! Kick out! Another one! Anaconda Vice! Sterling pokes the eyes…he tries to blast him with the contract! Miss! Donovan chokeslam! He goes to finish Sterling but Bear Boulder is out here to distract! CPA cuts off Boulder! Sterling with rollup! Kick out! Sterling with the piledriver! Bryce gets a shoulder up! Sterling has his book! He’s got knuckles in it. The ref takes the book…but not the brass knucks! He clocks Bryce…Mark goes for the pin…Bryce crucifixes him at two and gets the pin! Mark Sterling is out of Wrestling Open forever!!!

Winner: Bryce Donovan

Match 12: The Last Laugh (Hunter Drake & Kenzie Paige) vs Teddy Goodz & LMK

I’m so glad this crowd knows to boo the absolutely s*** out of the Last Laugh. They are so immediately hateable. They attack at the bell and pose in the boos. Team Flavortown wakes up and slams Last Laugh into each other. Kenzie trying to whip Goodz but he’s not allowing that. Drake makes his presence known and Kenzie gets some good shots in. Last Laugh unloading on Goodz as LMK screams from the apron. Goodz makes space, dodging a running shooting star and gets the tag to LMK! Fisherman’s suplex to Kenzie! Running stomps! Flavor bomb! Drake cuts off the pin! He dropkicks Teddy and goes for Kenzie’s belt. Teddy guts Hunter with the belt as LMK kicks off him to Dudley Dog Kenzie for the pin!

Winners: goodz & LMK

Rich Palladino announces the first partner promotion for The WRESTIVAL…it’s ICW no Holds Barred! The chains are coming to Worcester!

Main Event: Miracle Generation (Dustin Waller & Kylon King)(c) vs The Mane Event (Midas Black & Jay Lyon) (for the Saturn & Kronus Eliminator Cup)

Mane event has shown a new aggression and willingness to cut corners to get the W over the last couple of weeks. They last clash betwen these teams was a masterpiece of drama…how will this play out with the trophy on the line? Miracle trying to keep it friendly but Mane Event blindsides them. The action spills right out of the ring and they almost wipe out the sound table with Lyon’s body! Miracle firing up on Midas back in the ring but he rolls out. Dustin goes for the hat and Lion ring? Now they are just antagonizing their challengers. Mane event takes their gimmick back and fake using it. That’s too nice for this crowd. Kylon bombed into the apron but Midas can’t get the pin. Lyon with a hangman’s cannonball. Kylon is gutting out this beatdown. Leapfrog leg lariat facebuster combo! That’s such a good move. Kylon with the escape and drops both circus boys. Tag to Waller! Flash flying in hot! Rolling dvd to Midas! Senton for two! This is getting chaotic between the two teams. Lyon shoulder blocks Waller out of the air! Throwing knife to Kylon for two! Midas protesting it…Kylon gets a visual fall on a rollup but yeah, ref was otherwise occupied. Main event with a reverse DVD into a running knee! Sick move but Kylon kicks out! Mane event loses their cool and decks the ref! They beat the ref down in the corner! This definitely solidifies their turn to the dark side. Miracle Generation makes the save as refs run out to help their fellow. The bell is ringing. Not like this!

Winners: Miracle Generation (by DQ)

Miracle keeping Mane Event in the corner. A masked man with a chair hits the ring and blasts Miracle Generation! Waller blasted in the head hard! Kylon dropped! Grand Finale! The mask is off! It’s Pedro Dones?!? Mane Event drags Miracle Generation back in and double chokes them with the Lion ring! Waller is dazed and bleeding. Dones said he was going to change Wrestling Open last week. This…made waves. Johnny Rivera and Johnny Santos try to make the save but they get beat down! Teddy Goodz is here…nope. The rest of the face locker room hits the ring and FINALLY Dones and Mane Event are sent packing. Wild end to our main event! What is Dones planning?!?

Meanwhile, there was no Church of Greatness on the card this week but Brother Greatness had the following to say. Oh my.
