WWE managed to produce an incredible event in Cardiff, Wales with “Clash at the Castle”. The entire city was overwhelmed with wrestling fans. For 3 days Cardiff became one big wrestling family with members from all over the world, gracing the Welsh beauty with their presence.
While the event itself had Wrestlemania like vibe and atmosphere, delivering instant classics where Gunther battled Sheamus in a clinic that would've shamed Misawa vs. Kawada, seeing fans explode with roof rattling pops for Edge, Rey Mysterio and even singing for Bayley and Drew McIntyre, supporting the Scottish Warrior like no other, for me personally, none was more impressive than the community work the company and the superstars took part in.
I was fortunate to witness the Special Olympics Unified Basketball tournament event at the Sport Wales National Centre, where people with and without disabilities joined forces on the same team. The idea was inspired by a simple principle: training together and playing together in a quick path to friendship and understanding.
Drew McIntyre and Liv Morgan joined one team, while Butch (Pete Dunne) and Rhea Ripley joined the other team. The game was a wonderful opportunity for the WWE to give back to the community and make those special athletes feel on the top of the world. The Special Olympians shined through and had a blast. Each received a tremendous boost of confidence both from the crowd and the WWE Superstars. After the game concluded everyone felt like winners and received a standing ovation from the crowd on hand.
A special bond was created during the game between the wonderful Liv Morgan and one of the girls. Liv made her feel like a true champion throughout the entire game and the girl just couldn’t stop smiling. The girl especially liked Liv’s championship belt and Liv awarded the prestigious title to this special and amazing girl, who was excited beyond words and felt like the real champion that she truly is.
WWE does community work all over the world. Sometimes people forget that the company and their superstars give back more than they receive and that’s what it’s really all about.
I will never forget this moment, seeing how much joy Liv Morgan brought to this special amazing girl, by playing this game side by side with her and making her feel like the champion that she is. The warm attention Liv gave will impact her for the rest of her life. The bonds and connections WWE Superstars do with special kids is something that should not be taken for granted.
Those special moments are life changing for those kids, creating moments that they will treasure for the rest of their lives. An impact that has a tremendous positive effect on their entire way of life.
Thank you WWE for creating these moments and I wish the company more successful Stadium events and touching more special people in as many countries as possible to give them moments they will never forget.
