It is Friday and AEW Rampage was recorded right after Dynamite in Cleveland OH at the Wolstein Center and our commentary team is Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone, and Chris Jericho.
We start off with everyone in the ring for our first match.
Dark Order vs House of Black in the Trio Tournament
10 and Brody King start off the match with a collar and elbow tie up and King forces 10 back into the corner. Brody tries for a strike when they break and they charge each other, either moving. They charge a few more times until 10 is left up and around and goes down with a knee issue. He tags in John Silver and King tags in Buddy Matthews, and they struggle to get control.
Silver comes off the second rope for a hurrancanrana, but Matthews catches him and stops the move. Silver is able to escape out the back, and Matthews is able to get a spin kick on Silver. Black tags in and they both attempt to toss Silver over the top, but he is able to put on the brakes and tosses Matthews through the ropes. Silver gets a kick on Black and tags in Alex Reynolds.
Reynolds gets a back slide for a two and then dodges Black’s spin kick, They sit on the mat and glare at each other, and when they get up, we get a shoving match. The tag alarm goes off and all six men are fighting in the ring. It spills to the outside for picture in picture.
When they return to full screen, Black is tagged in and he hits a back elbow on Reynolds. Matthews is tagged i9n and hits a leaping stomp on Reynolds arm. Matthews takes out the other two members of Dark Order, and they fight in the middle. 10 is able to get on the apron to get the tag and clean house.
10 slaps a full nelson on Black and Black fights to the corner to tag in Matthews, who hits a meteora on 10.; Reynolds comes in and he battles a bit with Matthews before he and Silver hit a double team where Reynolds drops Matthews into an uppercut from Silver. King charges into the ring and Dark Order slows him down with double team attacks until he is able to lay Reynolds and Silver out with strikes and kicks.
10 is able to clothesline King over the top rope, and 10 tries to get the full nelson on Black after Black hits a series of kicks. Black goes after the brace on 10’s knee. He locks in a knee bar.
And we hear Miro’s music.
Matthews charges Miro and gets a big back body drop for his trouble. Miro then takes out King.
In the ring, 10 rolls up Black for the three count and the win.
Winners: Dark Order
Black attacks Miro and tosses him into the steel steps. He rolls Miro into the ring, and they start beating down Miro.
Darby Allin’s music hits and as he and Sting walk to the ring, the House of Black bails.
In the back, Hook says he doesn’t care about the video from Cool Hand Ang and Daddy Magic said they should have the FTW title. They show up right after Hook leaves. They want the title and say he’s scared of them.
Ryan Nemtheth comes out and heels the crowd and the local sports team until Wardlow’s Music hits. After Wardlow comes out, Sonjay Dutt’s team comes to the stage.
Wardlow (TNT Champion) vs Ryan Nemeth
Ryan keeps talking and Wardlow head butts him. It’s time for the Power Bomb Symphony.
Winner: Wardlow
In the back, the Andrade Family Office are asked about their losses. Andrade reminds Private Party what they did to Dragon Lee and he tells them everything in the world has consequences.
Powerhouse Hobbs vs Ashton Day
Ashton is in the ring already and it’s debut. Jericho is cheering for him and thinks he has a chance.
He’s wrong.
Hobbs knocks down Day, mimics the Ricky Starks pose and then hits a spine buster and pins him.
Winner: Powerhouse Hobbs
In the back, QT Marshall and The Factory beat down Ricky Starks and leaves him laying.
Lexi interviews Jade Cargill and the Baddies and she asks about Athena. Leila starts to talk and she orders Kiera to take out the trash. Jade tells Athena to come get these hands. So she does. They start brawling and the referees show to pull them apart.
Sammy Guevara and Tay Melo vs Ortiz and Ruby Soho
Tay is able to rush Ruby and hits a pair of knees to the face and then takes her down, keeping wrist control. Tay then goes after Ruby’s injured wrist. Ruby is able to break free with a knee to the midsection and then a series of shoulders in the corner. Ruby misses a kick and Tay is able to take advantage with a kick of her own and goes back to the injured wrist. Rugby Hits an elbow strike and Tay tags out.
Sammy is able to nail Ortiz with a series of kicks and a one count, and Sammy gets his own kick in. Ortiz gets a short arm lariat and then slams Sammy. Ruby enters the ring and she and Ortiz hit a modified cazadora, slamming her onto Sammy. Ortiz gets the two count. Sammy shoves Ortiz into the ropes and Tay holds him so Sammy can kick him and we go picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Ruby is throwing hands and kicks on Tay and takes her down with a belly to back suplex. Ruby then hits a running boot and a cover for a two count. Ruby tosses Tay to the corner and puts her on the top. Sammy runs across the ring and knocks Ortiz off the apron and then goes for Ruby’s leg. Ruby gets on Sammy’s shoulders and delivers a Poisonrana. Tay is able to leap off the top for a diving crossbody and a two count.
Ruby is able to hit a jaw breaker and Sammy gets between Ruby and Tay. Ruby takes a swing at him. He dodges and Tay is able to nail Ruby while Ortiz hits Sammy with a DDT. Tay gets a pump kick on Ortiz and tries for the swinging DDT, but Ortiz stops her and tosses her off. She tries for another pump kick and Ortiz catches it. Ruby hits a knee strike and a No Future, but Sammy breaks up the pin. Sammy keeps touching and yelling at Ruby.
Ortiz is tagged in and goes after Sammy, swarming him in the opposite corner. Cool Hand Ang is on the apron as well. As the ref is distracted, Anna Jay A S attacks Ruby on the floor, tossing her into the steel steps. Ortiz looks to see what happened, and Sammy takes advantage and hits a cutter, and covers Ortiz for the win.
Winners: Sammy Guevarta and Tay Melo
We get a video package of CM Punk after his loss to Jon Moxley for the AEW Title. We see Punk with the Doctor, saying that he didn’t feel anything when his leg gave out.
Claudio Castagnoli (Ring of Honor Champion) vs Dustin Rhodes
Caprice Coleman joins the commentary team. William Regal joins the team as well, and Jericho leaves.
They lock up and go into the ropes. They break clean and reset, locking up again, and Dustin gets a side headlock. Claudio tosses him off and they run the ropes. Dustin hits an arm drag and gets a one count.
Claudio gets a waistlocks and works Dustin down. They struggle on the mat and then work to their feet. They go into the ropes and Dustin hits his head on the bottle rope and rolls to the outside to regroup. When Dustin goes in, he gets a shoulder into Claudio’s midsection. He goes for the sunset flip, but Claudio is able to grab Dustin’s legs and drops down on his shoulders for a two count. Claudio hits an uppercut and then works over Dustin into the corner. Dustin hits a Manhattan drop and then a boot to the head and covers for a one count.
They run the ropes and Dustin tries for a leaping crossbody, and Claudio dodges with Dustin going to the outside and we go to picture in picture.
When we return to full screen, Claudio has a cross face on Dustin. He switches to a shoulder capture and Dustin works to his feet, hitting a side slam on Claudio. Claudio and Dustin throw hands in the middle of the ring and they then lock up to try for a back slide. Dustin switches it up for a short arm clothesline. They run the ropes more and Dustin clotheslines Claudio to the outside.
Dustin then hits a cannonball on Claudio. He rolls Claudio into the ring and hits a leaping bulldog for a two count. They go to the corner and Dustin hits a hurancanrana. Dustin gets a kick and the drop down face slap followed by a Code Red for a two count. Claudio is able to drop Dustin on the top rope when Dustin comes in for an attack, and then Claudio follows it up with a clothesline and a two count.
The crowd calls for the giant swing, so Claudio does it. He covers Dustin for a two count and he transitions to a crossface. Dustin rolls over for a two count. Dustin then hits a slam followed by a power bomb and a cover for a two count. Both men struggle to get to their feet. They run the ropes after Arn Anderson does the thumb across the throat calling for Dustin to finish him. They run the ropes and Claudio tries to leap over Dustin, but Dustin crashes into him with an inadvertent low blow. As both men get up, Claudio is able to hit the upper cut and covers for the three count.
