8/20 GCW HOPE 2 DIE REPORT FROM ATLANTA, GA

GCW “Hope 2 Die” Recap 

- Nick Gage makes his way to the ring to start the show and Emil Jay gives Gage his proper introduction, Gage wants to know where his gang is at. Gage says it is good to be back in the historic Center Stage, Gage talks about his upcoming Career vs. Title Match against Jon Moxley. Gage thanks all the fans because they inspire him to continue wrestling, Gage declares himself the God of GCW. 

Nick Wayne vs. Joe Lando 

The match begins with some chain wrestling between Lando and Wayne, Lando takes Wayne down during a test of strength to get a few pin attempts. Wayne gets up and he hits Lando with a monkey flip before both bridge up while staying in the double knuckle lock, the competitors separate and Lando avoids a Clout Cutter to exchange more roll ups with Wayne. Lando trips up Wayne before landing a double stomp on him, Lando holds Wayne down while working over his arm. Wayne gets to the ropes to break free of Lando, Lando quickly drops Wayne and he pulls back on both of his arms. Wayne gets free and Lando hits him with a suplex for a near fall, Lando follows up by dropping Wayne with a clothesline. Lando follows up by nailing Wayne with a falcon arrow for another near fall, Wayne fights back and Lando misses a spinning head kick. Wayne then hits Lando with a rana followed by a leaping European uppercut, Wayne keeps Lando down while working over his arm. Wayne bites the hand of Lando and the referee breaks them up, Wayne drops Lando a short time later for a near fall.  

Wayne looks for a fisherman suplex and Lando counters with a roll up, Lando and Wayne both go down after a double clothesline from both competitors. Lando gets up and he nails Lando with a spinning head kick followed by a clothesline, Wayne fights back and Lando nails him with a German suplex for a near fall. Lando goes for a suplex and Wayne gets free before landing his own spinning head kick, Wayne lands another head kick and a fisherman suplex for a near fall on Lando. Wayne goes for a Clout Cutter and Lando knocks him out of the ring, Lando then hits Wayne with a suicide dive. Lando gets Lando back in the ring before landing a shooting star elbow drop for a near fall, Lando goes for a suplex and Wayne counters with a pair of stunners. Lando fights back and he nails Wayne with a striking combo before eating a super kick, Lando avoids a clothesline from Wayne before landing a cutter followed by a suplex into the corner for a near fall. Lando goes back to the top rope and Wayne nails him with a cutter when he leaps off, Wayne follows up with a Clout Cutter for a three count. 

Winner: Nick Wayne 

Billie Starkz vs. B-Boy 

The match begins with Starkz attempting a suicide dive against B-Boy before the bell rings and B-Boy catches her, B-Boy eats a slap before propelling Starkz into the fence. B-Boy takes a shirt from somewhere and he chokes Starkz with it, B-Boy gets Starkz in the ring and Starkz cracks him with some strikes. B-Boy reverses spots with her and he nails Starkz with some of his strikes, Starkz looks to escape and B-Boy hits her with a buckle bomb. B-Boy drops Starkz in the corner before nailing her with a Face Lift, B-Boy gets Starkz out of the ring before landing more chops. B-Boy gets Starkz back in the ring and Starkz tries fighting back, B-Boy recovers to slam Starkz and then pulls back on her arms and legs. B-Boy keeps Starkz down while applying the cloverleaf to her, B-Boy releases the hold and he trades headbutts with Starkz. Starkz recovers and she sends a charging B-Boy out of the ring, Starkz then hits B-Boy with a diving tornado DDT on the arena floor. Starkz gets back in the ring and B-Boy follows her in there, Starkz and B-Boy have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring.  

Starkz rocks B-Boy with a few head kicks followed by a German suplex for a near fall, Starkz then hits B-Boy with a swanton bomb on the ring apron. Starkz follows up with another swanton bomb and B-Boy gets his knees up, B-Boy then hits Starkz with a tiger driver for a near fall. B-Boy goes for a power bomb and Starkz counters with a roll up for a near fall. Starkz then hits B-Boy with a head kick followed by a swanton bomb for a near fall, Starkz gets B-Boy on her shoulders and he gets free before landing a brain buster for a near fall. B-Boy catches Starkz going for a low blow and he injures her arm, B-Boy goes for a burning hammer and Starkz counters with a roll up for a three count. 

Winner: Billie Starkz 

GCW Extreme Championship : Cole Radrick (C) vs. Brett Ison 

The match begins with Ison nailing Radrick with a strike to the back, Ison tries backing Radrick into the corner before missing a chop. Radrick fights back and he lands a few shots before Ison drops him with a forearm strike, Radrick and Ison start exchanging strikes until Radrick goes down. Radrick falls after eating a chop and Ison nails him with a knee strike to the head, Radrick leaves the ring and he swings away at Ison when he returns to the ring. Ison quickly recovers and he drops Radrick with a headbutt, Radrick fights back again and Ison overwhelms him by landing a multitude of knee strikes. Radrick fights back he fails at a leg sweep attempt on Ison, Ison picks up Radrick and he nails him with a back suplex for a near fall. Ison gets up and Radrick cracks him with a headbutt, Ison quickly drops Radrick in the corner before landing a running knee strike for another near fall. Radrick swings back at Ison and a striking exchange breaks out between the two, both eventually go down after Radrick hits Ison with an enziguri. Ison gets up and he nails Radrick with a spinning back fist, Ison then hits Radrick with a One Winged Angel for a near fall. 

Ison follows up by getting Radrick in a sleeper hold, Radrick eventually gets free by hitting Ison with a chin breaker followed by a springboard stunner and a modified sit out power bomb for a three count. 

Winner: Cole Radrick, still your GCW Extreme Champion 

Blake Christian vs. Masha Slamovich 

The match begins with Christian rolling up Slamovich for a near fall, Christian follows up by going after the arm of Slamovich. Slamovich gets free and she takes Christian down before working over his arm, Christian gets up and he hits Slamovich with an up kick to the head to get free. Christian follows up by taking Slamovich down with a headlock, Slamovich gets back up and Christian knocks her into the corner. Slamovich gets free and she sends Christian into the middle rope before kicking him in the head, Slamovich then hits Christian with a clothesline and spinning back fist for a near fall. Christian gets Slamovich in the ropes before landing a 619 followed by a splash, Slamovich leaves the ring and she strikes Christian to prevent a suicide dive. Slamovich goes to the ring apron and Christian gets her back in the ring, Slamovich trips up Christian before drop kicking him to the arena floor. Slamovich follows up by landing a dive from the ring apron onto Christian, Slamovich gets Christian back in the ring for a near fall on a pin attempt. 

Christian recovers and he nails Slamovich with an enziguri followed by a snap dragon suplex, Slamovich leaves the ring and Christian hits her with a dive. Christian gets Slamovich back in the ring before landing a Phenomenal Forearm for a near fall, Christian then hits Slamovich with a suplex. Christian misses a charge in the corner before still managing to hit Slamovich with a rolling drop kick, Christian stands Slamovich up before applying a leg trap kravat to her. Christian follows up by again dropping Slamovich and applying a seated abdominal stretch to her, Slamovich gets free and she trades a few strikes with Christian. Slamovich then hits a charging Christian with a super kick followed by a knee strike and enziguri, Slamovich then drop kicks Christian out of the ring. Slamovich gets Christian back in the ring before going to the top rope, Slamovich nails Christian with a missile drop kick for a near fall. Slamovich looks for a piledriver and Christian counters with a back body drop, Christian then hits Slamovich with a rolling cutter for a near fall.  

Slamovich gets up and she gets into a striking exchange with Christian, Christian shocks Slamovich with a small package before dropping her with a knee strike. Christian sets up for a piledriver and Slamovich counters with a Dude Buster for a near fall, Slamovich goes for a northern lights bomb and Christian gets free before landing a head kick. Christian then hits Slamovich with a sit out power bomb for a near fall, Christian then hits Slamovich with a head kick followed by a springboard 450 splash for another near fall.

Christian misses a curb stomp attempt before eating a head kick, Slamovich then hits Christian with an air raid crash into the corner for a near fall. Slamovich misses a knee strike and Christian nails her with a curb stomp for a three count. 

Winner: Blake Christian 

Second Gear Crew (Mance Warner & Matthew Justice) vs. Charli Evans & Everett Connors 

The match begins with Warner backing Evans into the corner before letting her go free, Warner corners Evans again and Evans nails him with forearm strikes afterwards. Warner quickly recovers and he drops Evans with a right, Warner drinks a beer while stomping away on Evans. Evans gets up and she nails a drinking Warner with a super kick, Evans grabs the beer can and she hits Justice with it before Connors nails him with a super kick. Connors then hits both opponents with a suicide dive, both teams start brawling and it spills all over the arena. Warner grabs Evans and he sends her into the fence, Connors finds a steel chair and he throws it at the head of Justice. Evans sits Warner on a fan while nailing him with chops, Connors and Justice take their brawl into the upper deck of the crowd. Warner finds a steel chair and he throws it at the head of Evans, Justice drags Connors back to the ringside area before throwing him into the fence. Warner finds a door and he sends it into the ring, Justice finds another door and he hits Evans in the head with it.

Justice again grabs the door and he hits Connors with it before getting it into the ring, Justice alsothrows a bunch of chairs into the ring. Evans finds Warner and she nails him with strikes before Warner hits her and Connors with another door, Justice takes the door into the crowd while Warner drags Connors into the crowd. Justice places the door against the railing before putting Connors through the door, Warner climbs to the highest railing and he throws a fan onto a bunch of people before eating a chair shot from Evans. Evans then leaps off the railing and she lands onto a bunch of people, Connors grabs a piece of the broken door and he hits Justice with it. Evans takes off her jersey and she chokes Justice with it, everybody makes it back into the ring while Evans and Connors land some clotheslines. Evans and Connors also nail both opponents with multiple head kicks, Evans and Connors also throw some chairs into the heads of their opponents. Warner fights back and he sends Evans head first into a chair, Warner and Justice then hit Connors with a double choke slam through a chair. 

Justice goes to the top rope and Connors eventually meets him up there, Connors hits Justice with a one man Spanish fly through a door for a near fall. Connors then hits Warner with a cutter onto Justice for another near fall, Evans attacks both opponents while Connors sets up a door in the corner. Warner and Justice fight back to drop Evans and throw a door at Connors, Justice gets Connors up and he catches him in a roll up for a near fall. Connors fights back against both opponents before going to the top rope, Justice catches a leaping Connors and he puts him through the door for a three count. 

Winners: Second Gear Crew (Mance Warner & Matthew Justice) 

Scramble Match: Hunter Drake vs. Sean Campbell vs. Terry Yaki vs. Brogan Finley vs. Rico Gonzalez vs. Bobby Flaco 

The match begins with an all out brawl between all the competitors in the match, Flaco leaps off the top rope to take everybody down. Flaco then hits Finley with a rana followed by an enziguri, Campbell returns and he drops an airborne Flaco. Gonzalez hits the ring and he avoids a charging Campbell, Gonzalez slaps the ass of Campbell and Campbell kisses him before landing a super back suplex. Yaki hits the ring and Campbell drops him before getting dropped and eating a back elbow strike, Yaki then hits a downed Campbell with a slingshot swanton bomb. Flaco returns and Yaki nails him with a middle rope neck breaker followed by a springboard moonsault for a near fall, Drake returns and he quickly hits Yaki with a back stabber. Yaki recovers and he meets Drake on the top rope, Drake hangs him in the corner before landing a top rope double stomp. Drake then hits Gonzalez with a German suplex for a near fall, Finley returns and he attacks several competitors. Campbell and Finley work together against Flaco and Drake, Campbell sets up for a suicide dive and Finley hits him with a pump kick. 

Finley follows up by nailing multiple competitors with a suicide dive, Campbell hits Flaco with a spinning back fist before landing a leaping elbow strike to the arena floor on Drake. Flaco returns and he takes a bunch of people out with a dive from the top rope, Gonzalez looks for a dive and Drake prevents it. Drake then hits Gonzalez with a Spanish fly onto a bunch of competitors that were on the arena floor, Drake tries stealing Flaco’s dirt bike and Flaco kicks him in the head. Flaco rides his bike around the ring while kicks all of his opponents in the head, Flaco gets Campbell back in the ring to land a poison rana for a near fall. Everybody hits the ring and they all start taking each other out, Finley hits Gonzalez with a blue thunder bomb for a near fall. Drake gets Finley to hold Flaco before making him hit Flaco with a death valley driver on the ring apron, Campbell then hits Drake with a buckle bomb followed by a piledriver for a near fall.  

Yaki sends Campbell out of the ring before taking everybody out with a dive from the top rope, Yaki follows up by climbing the fence surrounding the stage and he dives off onto everybody. Yaki then hits Campbell with his finisher for a near fall, Gonzalez comes from out of nowhere to get the pin on Finley. 

Winner: Rico Gonzalez 

Jordan Oliver vs. Anthony Henry 

The match begins with Oliver getting Henry into the corner before letting him go free, Henry backs Oliver into the corner and he nails him with a chop. Henry takes Oliver down with a headlock and Oliver quickly gets free to work over his arm, Henry gets free and Oliver nails him with an arm drag. Oliver goes for a Clout Cutter and Henry sends him out of the ring before landing a penalty kick from the ring apron, Henry gets Oliver back in the ring and Oliver quickly hits him with a suicide dive. Oliver gets Henry back in the ring before landing a knee strike followed by a leaping head kick, Henry elevates Oliver to the ring apron before landing an elbow strike. Henry climbs the ropes and he hits Oliver with a side slam onto the top turnbuckle, Henry then hits Oliver with a falcon arrow for a near fall. Henry drops Oliver again before kicking him right in the back, Oliver fights back and Henry drops him again before kicking him in the back again for a near fall. Henry keeps Oliver down while applying a straight jacket hold to him, Oliver tries getting free and Henry nails him with a back stabber. 

Henry keeps Oliver down again before stomping away on his back, Henry then hits Oliver with a release German suplex followed by a head kick for a near fall. Henry traps Oliver in the corner before landing another kick to the back, Oliver fights back and Henry drops him again before kicking him in the back again for another near fall. Henry gets Oliver near the ropes while landing more strikes to his injured back, Oliver fights back again and he catches Henry in a few roll ups before landing a clothesline. Oliver lands a few more strikes before hitting Henry with a knee strike and an overhead belly to belly suplex, Oliver then hits Henry with a power bomb for a near fall. Henry fights back and he exchanges some roll ups with Oliver before Oliver lands a sit out power bomb for a near fall, Henry gets Oliver off the ropes before landing a bridging back suplex for a near fall. Henry sets up for a tiger driver before slapping Oliver in his hurt back, Henry goes for a tiger driver and Oliver counters with a rana before eating an enziguri. Oliver then goes for a Clout Cutter and Henry counters with a forearm strike followed by a power bomb for a near fall, Henry then hits Oliver with a tiger driver for a near fall. 

Oliver gets to his knees and Henry nails him with some kicks, Oliver gets up and he gets into a striking exchange with Henry. Oliver ends the exchange by nailing Henry with a Cleopatra followed by a Clout Cutter for a three count. 

Winner: Jordan Oliver 

Barbed Wire Boards & Light Tubes Deathmatch: Hunter Freeman vs. Alex Colon 

The match begins with a lockup that goes nowhere because neither can gain an advantage, Colon and Freeman try sending each other into the barbed wire boards. Colon then sends a charging Freeman into the barbed wire board, Freeman leaves the ring and nails him with a light tube assisted suicide dive. Colon breaks another light tube and he stabs Freeman in the head with it, Colon drags Freeman into the crowd while stabbing him with the light tube. Freeman fights back and he steals the light tube from Colon before stabbing him in the head with it, Colon recovers and he nails Freeman with a sliced bread onto the arena floor. Freeman makes his way to the stage and he dives over the fence onto Colon, Freeman gets Colon back in the ring and he sets up a chair in the corner. Freeman misses a light tube shot before hitting Colon with it on the third attempt, Colon quickly attacks Freeman and he sits him on a chair with light tubes. Colon then hits Freeman with a running double knee strike, Colon goes to the top rope before missing a light tube splash.  

Freeman then hits Colon with a light tube before landing a power bomb for a near fall, Colon and Freeman exchange some strikes in the middle of the ring. Colon ends the exchange by hitting Freeman with multiple light tube shots, Freeman recovers and he choke slams Colon for a near fall. Freeman grabs Colon and he throws him through the other barbed wire board for another near fall, Freeman grabs a piece of the broken board and he hits Colon with it. Freeman places light tubes on top of Colon before going to the top rope, Colon gets up and he breaks the light tubes on Freeman before landing a Spanish fly for a three count. 

Winner: Alex Colon 

Thrussy (Dark Sheik, Effy & Allie Katch) vs. Jimmy Lloyd & Los Macizos (Ciclope & Miedo Extremo) 

The match begins with Ciclope getting Katch in a headlock, Katch gets free and she eats a shoulder tackle attempt from Ciclope. Katch manages to drop Ciclope a short time later with a shoulder tackle of her own, Ciclope and Katch have a striking exchange in the middle of the ring. Katch and Ciclope both go down after a double clothesline, Extremo and Sheik are tagged in by their respective partners. Extremo goes for a suplex and Sheik gets free, Extremo and Sheik have more exchanges until Lloyd and Effy get tagged in. Lloyd and Effy have their own striking exchange in the middle of the ring, Effy ends the exchange by nailing Lloyd with a TKO. Lloyd escapes a dragon sleeper attempt and Effy sends him out of the ring, Lloyd tries returning to the ring and Effy knocks him back to the arena floor. Los Macizos hit the ring and they get super kicks out of the ring, Effy and Sheik take out Lloyd and Extremo with a suicide dive. Katch then leaps off the top rope and everybody crashes to the arena floor, Extremo gets to the stage and he dives onto all of the competitors. 

Extremo grabs Katch and he sends her right into the ring post, Ciclope grabs Sheik and he sends her into a steel chair. Lloyd and Effy take their battle into the crowd, Effy finds a steel chair and he throws it at the heads of Lloyd and Ciclope. Extremo and Katch take their battle into the crowd until Effy hits Extremo with a steel chair, Effy puts Extremo throat first onto a chair before sending that chair into the arena floor. Extremo gets free from Katch and he sends her into the ring apron, everybody eventually makes their way into the crowd. Sheik leaps over the barricade and onto all of the competitors, Sheik and Ciclope make their way back into the ring. Extremo hits the ring and Sheik nails him with a double stomp, Sheik drops Ciclope before landing a top rope spinning head kick. Sheik then goes for a top rope guillotine leg drop and Ciclope gets out of the way, Extremo catches Sheik in a big swing before Ciclope lands a senton on her for a near fall. Effy returns and he hits Los Macizos with a double blockbuster, Katch then hits Los Macizos with a double northern lights suplex.  

Katch and Effy corner both members of Los Macizos and they land a few moves for a double near fall, Lloyd returns to hit Effy and Katch with chair shots. Sheik returns and Lloyd throws a steel chair at her, Lloyd then hits Effy with an air raid crash onto a steel chair. Lloyd drops Katch onto Effy before getting a near fall on both, Lloyd is left alone in the ring and he gets hit with multiple holds by the opposition. Katch and Effy then hit Lloyd with an avalanche Sack Ryder, Sheik then hits Lloyd with a top rope guillotine leg drop for a near fall. Ciclope and Sheik take their battle back into the crowd, Extremo finds some light tubes and he dumps them in the ring. Everybody in the ring grabs light tubes and they take turns hitting each other with them, Ciclope and Sheik battle near the barricade in the crowd. Ciclope superplexes Sheik over the barricade and through a pile of weapons, Extremo drops Effy in the corner before going to the top rope and he lands a 450 splash for a near fall. Effy then hits Extremo with a Sack Ryder, Lloyd returns and he breaks light tubes over the head of Effy. Katch returns to hit Lloyd with a Pussy Piledriver and then Effy lands a Sack Ryder on him for a three count. 

Winners: Thrussy (Dark Sheik, Effy & Allie Katch) 

After the match, Effy talks about how Los Macizos previously defeated them for the GCW World Tag Team Titles and then losing them to The Briscoes. Effy says Bussy will regain the gold at the Art Of War Games, Miedo Extremo goes face to face with Effy before The Second Gear Crew hits the ring. Alex Colon hits the ring and he starts a brawl between everybody as the event comes to an end.
