COULD JIM CORNETTE RETURN TO WWE UNDER THE NEW WWE REGIME, WHAT IF DREW CAN'T WRESTLE AT THE CLASH, ORTON, WWE 24/7 TITLE AND MORE

By Mike Johnson on 2022-08-18 10:00:00

With Vince McMahon gone, do you think Jim Cornette would be more interested in working for the company?

I think the only way Jim Cornette is interested in working for anyone right now is if they come to him in Louisville and set up a camera crew to film him for interviews.  He's made it very clear that with COVID-19 and the pandemic he is not seeking work or appearances and honestly, he wasn't seeking them before any of that happened.  He doesn't want to fly and has zero interest in working in today's wrestling.  He could be doing live podcasts and signings and appearances on independent shows and doesn't want to do them.  So, my short answer: NOPE.

Any idea what happened with the Jerry Lawler lawsuit over the passing of Brian Christopher?

It is still making its ways through the courts and is slated to go to trial on 10/31.

Who would be the most shocking talent WWE could bring back?

I don't think anyone would be shocking beyond CM Punk (who is obviously signed with AEW) as it's an entirely new generation in charge of the big decisions and all the previous parameters have been thrown well out the window.  Unless there is a criminal element to someone's recent past, I'd say there's a lot of potential for those who were discarded or overlooked to have a new opportunity to return.

Where is Randy Orton?

Dealing with a back issue.  We haven't heard any timeline on a potential return.

If Drew McIntyre can't go at Clash at the Castle, what will WWE do?

The only way Drew isn't working that show is if WWE refuses to let him perform and locks him in a room somewhere.  If he can't go, the easy answer is to shoot an angle to add Karrion Kross in or surprise everyone with a big European star being added to the bout - Sheamus would be damn deserving.  But, my gut is Drew wrestles that night, especially since he wrestled this past Monday.
