NJPW STRONG REPORT: NEW TAG CHAMPIONS DETERMINED, AND MORE

Match Number One: Shane Haste versus Jorel Nelson

Haste with a side head lock. Nelson tries to send Haste off the ropes but Haste holds on to the side head lock. Nelson with a top wrist lock and he gets a nea fall. Nelson wit a side head lock take down and Haste with a head scissors. Nelson escapes and Haste with an inside cradle for a near fall. Nelson with a wrist lock and Haste with a snap mare and drop kick. Nelson goes to the floor and Haste poses. Haste goes for a pescado but Nelson moves. Haste lands on his feet and connects with uppercuts and chops. Nelson with a chop and Irish whip into the guardrails.

Haste charges at Nelson and Nelson with a back body drop onto the apron. They return to the ring and Nelson gets a near fall. Nelson with a kneeDT for a near fall. Nelson blocks a kick and hits a dragon screw leg whip. Nelson poses. Nelson works on the leg and slams it into the apron. Haste kicks Nelson and chops him. Haste with a forearm but Nelson with a back body drop. Nelson gets a near fall. Nelson with an Irish whip and a double knee strike in the corner. Haste kicks Nelson and Nelson with a figure four in the ropes into a Cloverleaf. Haste is able to power out of the hold to escape.

Haste with uppercuts and Haste follows with a DDT and both men are down. Haste drops down and Nelson goes over the top rope to the floor. Haste with a leg lariat into the corner followed by a cannonball. Haste with a power bomb for a near fall. Haste with kicks to Nelson. Neslon with chops and kicks. Haste with a kick and Saito suplex. Nelson with a thrust kick and a flying boot for a near fall. Nelson goes up top and Haste with a drop kick to stop Nelson. Haste with a superplex. Haste gets Nelson up but Nelson gets back to his feet and he clips Haste followed by a rollup for the three count.

Winner: Jorel Nelson

Rocky Romero is in the back and he says June 26, 2022 in Chicago, at Forbidden Door. Roppongi Vice in a three way tag match against United Empire and FTR. Dax, I had you pinned in a beautiful bridge. One . . . two . . . nothing. The moment keeps playing over and over in my head. I keep watching that final second and me not getting my win and being robbed of the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships and the ROH Tag Team Championships. This match I asked for is all about revenge and redemption. It is about getting a chance against the ROH and IWGP Tag Team Champions. Dax, at High Alert, it is going to be one, two, three and Azucar holding his hands high above his head and you laying down on the ground beneath me.

Match Number Two: Big Damo versus Hikuleo

They lock up and go to a stalemate. They lock up again and go to a stalemate. Hikuleo with a kick and forearm. Hikuleo with an Irish whip and Damo with a shoulder tackle or two. Damo runs into a shoulder tackle from Hikuleo but Damo gets up and clotheslines Hikuleo over the top rope to the floor. Damo follows Hikuleo to the floor and chops him and follows with an uppercut. Hikuleo with a chop and Damo with a thrust kick and forearm. Damo with a forearm and Hikuleo fires back.

Damo breaks the count and Hikuleo sends Damo into the ring post. Hikuleo sends Damo into the guardrails and chops Damo against the guardrails. Hikuleo with more chops. Damo with punches but Hikuleo with a forearm. Hikuleo with a clothesline and he gets a near fall. Hikuleo goes for a suplex but Damo blocks it. Damo with a thrust kick and Hikuleo with a forearm. Damo holds on to the ropes to avoid a power slam. Damo with a cross body. Damo punches Hikuleo.

Damo with an uppercut and a splash into the corner. Damo with another splash and Irish whip. Damo with a running drop kick followed by a cannonball for a near fall. Damo tries to get Hikuleo on his shoulders but Hikuleo escapes. Damo with an accordion slam and a back senton. Damo goes to the turnbuckles but misses a Vader Bomb. Hikuleo goes for a choke slam but Damo with a kick. Hikuleo with a power slam and then he gets Damo up for a choke slam and the three count.

Winner: Hikuleo

We have a video package for the New Japan Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship Tournament, leading into tonight’s finals.

Match Number Three: Yuya Uemura and Christopher Daniels versus Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher in the Finals of the New Japan Strong Openweight Tag Team Championship Tournament

Daniels and Kyle start things off. They lock up and Kyle with a side head lock and take down. Daniels with a rollup for a near fall. Daniels with an arm bar. Daniels with a wrist lock and Kyle with a reversal into a side head lock. Daniels with a reversal. Uemura tags in and he connects with an uppercut and chop. Uemura with a forearm to the back. Uemura with a slam and he tags Daniels in for a slingshot elbow drop and he gets a near fall.

Uemura tags in and they hit a double back elbow. Uemura with elbow drops and Daniels with a kick. Daniels with a reveres atomic drop to Davis and Uemura with a shoulder tackle. Uemura with a wrist lock to Kyle and Daniels tags in. They hit a double suplex and Daniels gets a near fall. Daniels with a leg lariat for a near fall. Daniels with a head butt. Davis grabs Daniels but Daniels back drops Kyle ot the floor. Daniels misses a pescado and then Davis and Kyle run Uemura into Daniels on the floor.

Davis tags in and they hit a double forearm and Davis with a back senton for a near fall. Davis gets Daniels up for a suplex and then Kyle tags in and Daniels is passed off to him for the suplex. Kyle gets a near fall. Kyle with a chop and Davis tags in. Davis goes for a suplex but Daniels counters with an inside cradle but Kyle distracts the referee so he does not see the cover so Daniels can only get a near fall. Daniels with boots in the corner and a head scissors take down. Davis misses an elbow drop and splash. Uemura tags in and he connects with a back elbow and flying forearm to Davis. Uemura with a splash into the corner followed by a bulldog for a near fall. Davis with a side head lock and he goes for a belly-to-back suplex but Uemura lands on his feet and he hits a belly-to-back suplex for a near fall. Uemura with an arm bar and he traps the arms. Davis with head butts and Kyle tags in. Uemura pushes Davis into Kyle and Davis goes over the top rope to the floor. Uemura with an arm trapped overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Uemura goes up top and Davis stops him. Daniels gets Kyle on his shoulders and Uemura with a bulldog off the turnbuckles for a near fall.

Davis hip tosses Daniels over the top rope ot the floor. Davis gets Uemura on his shoulders and he tosses Uemura to Kyle for a kick and then Kyle goes up top and hits a DDT with Uemura on Davis’ shoulders. Kyle gets a near fall. Davis tags in and they get Uemura up but Daniels takes care of Kyle and Uemura with a rollup on Davis for a near fall. Uemura with a forearm to Davis followed by a super kick from Kyle to Uemura. Daniels with an STO to Kyle. Daniels with a boot to Davis and Daniels goes up top and Davis catches Daniels and hits a power bomb. Uemura with a rollup on Davis. Uemura blocks a kick from Kyle and Uemura sends Kyle’s boot into Davis. Uemura with a rana to Davis for a near fall. Uemura with forearms to Davis and Kyle. Davis and Kyle misses Uemura with forearms. Davis with a jumping kick and then Kyle with a flying clothesline into the corner followed by a forearm from Davis. They get Uemura up for the double spinebuster and get the three count.

Winners: Mark Davis and Kyle Fletcher (new champions)

After the match, the new champions are presented the title belts by Tiger Hattori. They celebrate in the ring.

Mark and Kyle are in the back and Mark says they said they would do it. Kyle says they talked about this and United Empire is making history. He says they have been here for a few months and they are the first tag team champions. He says they will wrestle everyone.

Jorel Nelson shows up and he says he is not here to fight right now. He says he will make it short and sweet. It was Team Filthy that built New Japan Strong, not United Empire. It was the West Coast Wrecking Crew who built tag team wrestling in New Japan Strong, not Aussie Open.

Jorel asks for the first title match against Aussie Open.

Kyle points out that him and Royce lost in the first round to TMDK.

Jorel says he just beat Shane Haste.

Kyle gives them a title match.
