WWE WRESTLEMANIA LAUNCH PARTY REPORT FROM LOS ANGELES

WWE Wrestlemania 39 Launch Party Recap 

- Triple H starts off the festivities via a video package where he says he is excited to kick off the launch party and he cannot wait for ‘Mania 39.  

- Kayla Braxton & Corey Graves are your hosts for the evening. Graves brings out Gabriel Iglesias as their special guest host for the evening tonight, Iglesias says something that cannot be heard due to some audio issues. Braxton brings out Inglewood, California Mayor James T. Butts Jr. The mayor welcomes everybody to the launch party and says he cannot wait for ‘Mania 39, Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair comes out next. Belair welcomes everybody to the launch party, Belair reminds everybody to get their tickets for ‘Mania 39 and she says that ‘Mania 39 will be a special event while shouting out the mayor. 

Belair talks about winning the Smackdown and Raw Women’s Championships at ‘Mania 37 and ‘Mania 38 respectively, Belair says she will continue her ‘Mania undefeated streak at ‘Mania 39. Belair then brings out Becky Lynch, Lynch welcomes everybody to the launch party while also talking about being the first woman to win a ‘Mania main event. Lynch and Belair tease a potential rematch at ‘Mania 39, Lynch says she is taking over while her and Belair talk about the magic they have made together. Belair and Lynch talk about the party going on backstage before bringing out Snoop Dogg, who comes out and raps a little bit. Dogg talks about how long he has been a fan of professional wrestling, Dogg gives some gifts to Belair and Lynch.  

Lynch and Belair then have the Laker Girls present Dogg with a golden WWE Championship belt, Dogg dances with Lynch and Belair before a ‘Mania 39 commercial plays. 

Raquel Rodriguez vs. Nikki ASH 

The match begins with ASH looking for a takedown and Rodriguez winds up knocking her over, Rodriguez catches a charging ASH. ASH escapes the grasp of Rodriguez before eating a shoulder tackle, Rodriguez follows up by doing some damage to the arm of ASH. ASH leaves the ring and Rodriguez gives chase, ASH gets in the ring to drop Rodriguez neck first on the top rope. ASH then leaves the ring to knock Rodriguez to the arena floor, Rodriguez gets back in the ring and ASH nails her with a plethora of strikes. ASH misses a leap from the middle rope before drop kicking Rodriguez in the knee, ASH then hits Rodriguez with a spinning neck breaker for a near fall. ASH keeps Rodriguez down while kicking away at her injured leg, ASH keeps Rodriguez down while applying a single leg crab to her. ASH releases the hold before getting a near fall on the downed Rodriguez, ASH follows up by choking Rodriguez along the middle rope. ASH then wraps the injured leg of Rodriguez in the ropes before kicking away at it, ASH goes for a tornado DDT next and Rodriguez blocks it before tossing her across the ring. 

Rodriguez nails ASH with multiple leg kicks and a shoulder tackle, Rodriguez then hits ASH with a fall away slam. Rodriguez then hits ASH with a twisting Vader Bomb, Rodriguez goes for a Tejana Bomb and ASH counters by sweeping her injured leg. ASH goes for a roll up with the feet on the ropes and the referee catches her, Rodriguez then hits ASH with a Tejana Bomb for a three count. 

Winner: Raquel Rodriguez 

- Highlights of Logan Paul vs. The Miz from WWE Summerslam ‘22 airs. 

- Logan Paul appears via a video and he talks about competing at ‘Mania 38, Paul says he is meant to be in a WWE ring and he hints at competing at ‘Mania 39. 

- Corey Graves is on stage with Kayla Braxton, Gabriel Iglesias, Santos Escobar, Valerie Louredaa and Roxanne Perez. Escobar says Wrestlemania is the grandest stage of them all and the showcase of the immortals, Escobar talks about everything he represents. Escobar says ‘Mania might be grander this year because he and his cohorts could debut at the event, Louredaa says she is honored to be here before Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo interrupt. Garza wants to do the Kiss Cam tonight and Braxton makes them close their eyes before kissing Louredaa, the duo actually kisses Iglesias instead. The Miz and Maryse interrupt the proceedings while heading to the ring, they are hosting a special edition of Miz TV. 

The Miz talks about being in California and in the home of the LA Rams, Maryse says she has no idea who any of the Rams players are. The guest for this edition of Miz TV is JoJo Siwa, who gives both The Miz and Maryse a hug after entering the ring. Siwa talks about the fans flipping her off and being jeered by the fans in attendance, Siwa talks about beating The Miz on Dancing With The Stars. Siwa then admits that neither The Miz or Maryse are her favorite WWE Superstar, Siwa says that Liv Morgan is her favorite WWE Superstar and Morgan makes her way to the ring. Morgan says she came out to helps Siwa because The Miz usually humiliates his guests on Miz TV, Morgan mocks The Miz for losing to Logan Paul at WWE Summerslam ‘22.  

Morgan and Maryse have a brief argument about the size of The Miz’s balls, The Miz says everybody came tonight to see him and Maryse. The Miz and Maryse eventually leave after being insulted more by Morgan, Siwa and the crowd. 

- AJ Styles appears via a video and he tells everybody to get ready for ‘Mania 39. 

- Kayla Braxton is back on stage with Corey Graves, Gabriel Iglesias, Zelina Vega and Dominik Mysterio. Vega says she is excited to be back in her second home of Los Angeles, Vega announces that “the queen is back.” Mysterio says his time teaming with his father at ‘Mania 38 was special to him, Mysterio then introduces a video package featuring his father’s heavyweight title victory at ‘Mania 22.  

- Rey Mysterio appears via a video and he talks about ‘Mania going Hollywood.  

- Seth Rollins makes his way to the ring next, Rollins says there is no party tonight unless he is involved in the festivities. Rollins talks about some of his moments that have taken place at past ‘Mania’s, Theory interrupts Rollins and he comes out on stage. Theory admits that Rollins has had some great ‘Mania moments, Theory gets in the ring before saying he can top Rollins’ greatest ‘Mania moment. Theory says that he may cash in his MITB contract at ‘Mania 39, Rollins says nothing can ever top him before saying Theory has a match tonight against Ricochet.  

Ricochet vs. Theory 

The match begins with Theory backing Ricochet into the corner before the referee breaks them, Theory then gets Ricochet in a headlock. Ricochet gets free and Theory nails him with a shoulder tackle, Ricochet gets up and he goes to work on the arm of Theory. Theory again gets Ricochet in a headlock and Ricochet gets free before eating another shoulder tackle, Ricochet gets back up to hit Theory with an enziguri followed by some strikes. Ricochet then sends Theory out of the ring before faking a suicide dive, Theory returns to the ring and Ricochet drops him with a head scissors takedown followed by a drop kick. Theory recovers by propelling Ricochet to the ring apron and then dropping him to the arena floor, Theory leaves the ring and he sends Ricochet into the ring apron before getting him back into the ring. Theory corners Ricochet before dropping him with a hard Irish whip into the opposite corner for a near fall, Theory holds Ricochet down while applying a chin lock to him. Theory releases the hold before sending Ricochet into the corner, Theory again applies a chin lock to Ricochet before sending him into the corner again. 

Theory goes to the middle rope and Ricochet gets him down with a rana for a near fall, Ricochet follows up by nailing Theory with more strikes. Ricochet then drops Theory with a handspring elbow strike, Ricochet also nails Theory with a standing shooting star press for a near fall. Ricochet goes to the middle rope and Theory gets him down before landing a blue thunder bomb for a near fall, Theory gets angry and he lands a few strikes on a downed Ricochet. Theory grabs his phone and he goes for a selfie before Ricochet rolls him up for a near fall, Ricochet then hits Theory with a Recoil. Ricochet gets the phone and he takes a selfie with it before missing a shooting star press attempt, Theory almost makes Ricochet hit the ref before landing the A-Town Down for a three count. 

Winner: Theory 

- Doudrop appears via a video and she tells everybody to get ready for ‘Mania 39. 

- Kayla Braxton, Corey Grave & Gabriel Iglesias are back on the stage, a video package airs highlighting this year's Medal Of Honor recipients. Braxton then brings out Medal Of Honor recipient Will Swenson, who talks about medal recipient “Woody” Williams and The Woody Williams Foundation. Swenson brings out Chad Graham and “Woody” Williams’ grandson, Swenson then presents an award to Graham and Graham gives a short speech. Swenson then brings out Montez Ford of the Street Profits, Ford is given the Insight Award for all the WWE has done for the military and the veterans. Ford thanks everybody on behalf of the WWE before the microphones give out on him, Ford gives up on giving the speech to show his award to the crowd while the crowd chants “you deserve it.” Ford finally gets a microphone to give a speech to the crowd, Ford gets a WWE Championship belt and he gives it to Swenson, Graham and The Woody Williams Foundation. 

- Highlights from Kevin Owens vs. Steve Austin from ‘Mania 38 are shown. 

- Corey Graves, Kayla Braxton & Gabriel Iglesias are back on stage, the hosts thank all of their partners for hosting ‘Mania 39 and the launch party.  

- Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions The Usos make their way to the stage, The Usos tell everybody that The Bloodline is now in their city. The Usos wonder why everybody doesn’t have their ‘Mania 39 tickets yet, they also say that The Bloodline will run ‘Mania 39 and Roman Reigns will be acknowledged at ‘Mania 39. Los Lotharios interrupts The Usos and they come to the ring for their tag match. 

Los Lotharios (Humberto Carrillo & Angel Garza) vs. Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) w/Rampage The Ram 

The match begins with Garza avoiding a lockup with Dawkins to kiss a fan’s hand, Garza returns to the ring and Dawkins drops him with a shoulder tackle. Dawkins follows up by nailing Garza with a drop kick, Carrillo tags in and he nails Dawkins with a springboard cross body block. Carrillo starts landing some shots on the arm of Dawkins, Dawkins fights back and he hits Carrillo before tagging Ford in. Ford immediately nails Carrillo with a drop kick, Ford drops Carrillo with a back strike before working over his arm. Carrillo sends a charging Ford in the ropes before tagging Garza in, Garza removes his pants and he nails Ford with them. Carrillo tags in and he gets double teamed by Los Lotharios for a near fall, Carrillo follows up by choking Ford on the middle rope. Ford fights back and he eats some more strikes from Carrillo, Garza tags back in and he works over a cornered Ford alongside Carrillo. Garza holds Ford down while applying a chin lock to him, Ford gets free and Garza kicks him in the midsection. Garza then nails Ford with a basement drop kick for a near fall, Garza again applies a chin lock to a downed Ford. 

Ford gets free and Garza drops him with an elbow strike, Garza then chokes Ford along the middle ropes. Ford fights back and he cracks Garza with a series of strikes, Garza slows down Ford and he chops him before the launch party graphic appears so I cannot see the action in the ring. Carrillo tags in and he nails Ford with a moonsault for a near fall, Ford fights back and he manages to tag Dawkins into the match. Dawkins quickly starts cleaning house against the opposing team, Garza interferes and he battles Ford on the arena floor. Dawkins hits Carrillo with a sit out power bomb before Ford tags in and lands a top rope frog splash for a three count. 

Winners: Street Profits (Montez Ford & Angelo Dawkins) w/Rampage The Ram
